I wish other reviews were this concise. Great job, and yeah I definitely am targeting to buy this. The only other keyboard I like is the Lenovo thinkpads', How would you compare the two ?
Have been a Mac user since 1998 Grape iMac DV. Just bought the M4 Pro Mac mini, which is going to replace my 2017 27" 5K iMac 4.2Ghz Intel Core i7-7700K. I am going to change out the Keyboard and Mouse to Logitech MX Keys S for Mac and MX Master 3S for Mac. Excited to feel the difference! I also have an M1 MacBook Air.
That's gonna be a hell of an upgrade going from that iMac to the new machine like, crazy powerful. This is a great keyboard. Also, if you really want the fingerprint sensor for touch ID, you can buy an old Apple keyboard with it, and there's instructions online for how you can remove it from the keyboard, put it in a 3-D printed case and use it as a little separate touch ID
Sometimes is is simply disconnected from Mac and if you don't have a second keyboard at start up to plug in, there is no way to access your Mac. It does it just like that. Also it would not hurt for Logitech to make a full video on how to explore all features.
Just bought the black version tonight and the Logi MX Master 3S mouse tonight. Bought separately as the bundle was not in stock. Loving both so far.... Windows user.
My (non S) MX Keys keyboard is the best modern keyboard I've used. Key travel is great and it's very comfortable to use. It can struggle setting the brightness level of the keys sometimes if ambient lighting is at a sort of middle level, leading to pulsing. And sometimes the connection gets a little wonky with missed keystrokes or slow reactions, but a quick power cycle has always fixed that for me. If this keyboard ever breaks or fails, I'll definitely replace it with another one. Highly recommend it!
One of the oldest keyboards I have is the Logitech with the built in rechargable battery. The battery no longer recharges but I have it connected via USB to a Mac that isn't used much. I've always liked their keyboards.
Another plus is if you have a windows pc you can switch between the two, share one keyboard. You can also copy from one computer and paste to the other when switching.
Forgive this question, but I have looked as so many keyboards I am nearly blind. I am looking for a QUIET mechanical keyboard. I’m 71 yrs old and have Parkinson’s Disease, so the usual apple magic keyboard doesn’t work for me. Is this a mechanical keyboard and will I get a more tactile feel than with the apple wireless keyboard ? Thank you so much for your opinion
Nothing to forgive, I'm happy to try to help. I find that quiet and mechanical are two things with keyboards that don't usually end up in the same product. A few recommendations. In this Amazon Influencer video of mine I go over a Satechi keyboard I think is a great middle ground. Great typing feel, quiet enough and durable. By quiet enough I mean that it's not like the quietness of the Magic keyboard. But it's not really loud like the Keychron or other gamer mechanical keyboards. One recommendation I have is the Satechi SM1 Here's my video on it on Amazon: www.amazon.com/live/video/0a9590c2beda493daf125ddc409061d6 The other is the Willow (sometimes called the Willow Pro) is a keyboard I haven't finished editing the video about. amzn.to/4g7qM4p They typing feel is excellent, with slightly rounded key tops and an excellent spring in the keypress. I am always sure I have pressed a key. And it's extremely quiet. I got my wife one for her office because she shares a room with her coworker. amzn.to/4g7qM4p
@ You are SO kind to take the time to create this amazing response. My Parkinson’s Disease gives me hand tremors so I need a keyboard that takes some effort to push the keys. I am so grateful for your recommendations. You didn’t have to do this and I am very thankful. Jim
2:05 "If you're in the market for a reliable keyboard with great features, the MX Keys S is definitely the one to beat."? How were you able to judge reliability?
Great question. I've used the MX series of keyboards for years now, as well as Apple's, and many others. But in the last six months I've evaluated about 10 Mac keyboards for reviews I write for tech websites. The MX Keys feels great, is reliable, and is just a joy to type on. I also really like the Keychron I tested though it's a whole different type of keyboard. I use it a lot for video editing where the feedback feels like a good video editing deck.
Good point but the watch doesn't ping to use it to verify for most tasks. It'll unlock the Mac and you can use it for payment but you can't do a lot of system dialog things with it. If you've got 1Password installed as an extension in a browser the need for touchID drops a lot too.
@@davetriesthis 1password is not a great option, it’s a third party password manager which is at higher risk of being breached than the Apple built in password manager. Using the built in one also gives you the option to double click on your Apple Watch to login in Apple password and quickly auto fill the password on the website or app you are trying to reach

I haven't used the Lenovo keyboards so can't really offer any opinion, sorry.

@@davetriesthis Not a big deal for me, MacOS will unlock with my Apple Watch

Great combo. Hope you enjoy them !

Yup I misspoke. Thanks for that. I'll try to edit that part either way YT's editor, though it's kind of awful. :)

Would you rate this over Apples own USB C Keyboard?

The keys are smooth as butter. A joy to type on!
one thing to perhaps mention is that if you have an apple watch the touchID key is useless

Apple watch works for inserting passwords as well?
@ yes it will prompt you to double click on the side button of the watch
