This is a great video. I’ve also found a butter knife can help flip open that front lever. Two other big things to do that people forget is changing the nozzle size on the machine in the settings and change the nozzle to a slicer, and you will have to re-slice things if they were done slices. This is critical for success and no damage. While you’re doing this nozzle swap, it’s also a great time to tighten the three black screws behind the nozzle. They come loose overtime and for sure affect your first layer.

so where is the review?
I've had one of these since January. I've been loving it. Over that last 3 month it's not been getting any solar charge. I know I'm in the UK and the sun is a myth to us. But when i took the camera to charge i noticed that water has gotten under the top of the solar panel.
Interesting. Maybe contact their support. Those should obviously be sealed.
@davetriesthis yep. Gonna reach out. To them tonight.
anyone else like myself that wants a neptune 4 max and cant afford it?
I asked the lawyer to give you my debt. :D
what the hell are you all talking about!! NOZZLE IS THE SMALL TIP. You are replacing A WHOLE HOT-END!! And if I'm wrong then I reject the truth itself because this is so stupid and outraging, the TIP should be like a small SCREW, swapabble in 15 seconds, but this shit with replacing whoel hot end especially in P1/X1 and removing fan, cover, heater, thermistor, then reatachinng them again, is UNACCEPTABLE and I'd rather buy second printer than do this shit many times a week. What a stupid idiot came up with this garbage.
The Loading and unloading part doesn't make sense. You already know from the start that there's extra filament left and it's where the filament was cut. Loading and unloading will leave you with the exact same state except its a "newer" filament --which doesn't change anything. So doing that was just to a lot of time and filament to achieve basically nothing. The only step needed was the part you told us not to do from the start, --that you did in the end anyway. SMH.
I don't get your modification when you print the print head only goes up it never go down
Have you had any issues using Elegoo filament in the Bambu AMS? I just got into 3d printing and saw a video saying that some of the cardboard ones can cause issues in the AMS. Thank you.
Had this issue, considered new hot end but an hour with a hot air gun and screwdrivers hot it all off. The Olly casualty was the wire insulation melted on the thermistor, some kapton tape sorted that. Runs fine again
Thanks for the blob tips! Support has been emailed, and now we wait. Appreciate this informative video.
Good luck! Hope they get back to you quickly.
@@davetriesthis They have not, but I ordered a new hot end from Amazon for $22 yesterday and it's already installed. I know holidays are definitely going to be slower, and it's good to have the extra. Is anybody else having issues loading .gcode files from the USB drive? Sometimes they'll load and show the preview/elegoo logo and printing times ... sometimes it's a black box and it doesn't load. But it's the same files, sometimes they print, sometimes they don't!
Thanks!
Thank you!!!!
haha its funny when you said tactical switches I was left with all kinds of interesting ideas XD funny how stuff works in the brain.
Well yeah I misspoke. I guess tactical switches would change this keyboard from semi auto to full auto.
Thank you vry much. There is only 1 other youtuber who talks about the spool upgrade and turns out he is selling it as a product, not even as an stl file, but a ready printed product. Anyhow I designed my own spool and sensor holder, I was just missing the cables. Thank you!
Is it comfortable for back sleeping? I mean isn't the strap too bulky?
For uninterrupted recording on Eufy e340 floodlight & s330 solar cams, what matters more... Internet speed or Wi-Fi 6e or 7 router? And what upload & download do u recommend?
Meh I just pulled mine straight out 5 minutes after a print.
I just got my neptune 4 plus and the head is slamming into the print bed any time I try to level it. then it comes back with the firmware message you showed on your video. it has left a notable indent on the print bed. thankfully I didn't have the plate on it.
I'm both a D&D gamer and an AFOL (Adult Fan Of LEGO). I agree this is a great set. It's fun to build and looks great on display. Not only does it include one of the most impressive dragons LEGO has ever done and some very cool other monsters (the beholder, owlbear and awakened tree in particular), it also spans more settings than practically any other LEGO set: a tavern, outdoors, dock, dungeon, cavern and ruined castle. The dragon does have a flaw beyond the loose lower jaw however: its head and tail droop. One of the ball joints in the neck and the tail where it meets the body lack the friction needed to keep those body parts up. That's an unfortunate design error that LEGO really should have fixed. It illustrates the danger of relying too heavily (no pun intended) on computer modelling vs real world testing.
Agreed all around. I'd have thought they would have either a QA team that would play with the set or at least know what parts won't hold up the weight. My son wouldn't have built a neck like this with his own MOCs. But this is amazing. I'm not a big fan of building sets. Maybe because they didn't exist when I was a kid. But this is so good I kept trying to get a chance to build some of this.
Have a Neptune 4 Max. My second printer (first was a Bambi Lab X1C). Just had a weird print fail… grinding noise woke me up, the long part fan is impacting the edge of the part. Because the part is a large flat piece that covers most of the bed, no way to rehome. Can’t restart after pausing because the print head seems to be lost.
Also: the first layer is like a “skin” on the second and later layers, and the sparse infill was cubic… am now reprinting at slower speed and using honeycomb sparse infill, seems to be printing more stably.
Bambu Lab sent 4 rolls of defective filament to me. And only offered to compensate 1 roll. Disappointing aftersales service.
Yes, Dave you are awesome. Funny as well.
People love me! They really love me!!
I recently got a Neptune 4 Max and tried many brands of PLA but Elegoo PLA just works best with it. No issues whatsoever.
It's the go to filament for every printer I test. Then if a print fails I can stick the filament in another printer and run the model to see if the stl is messed up or the filament is. It's always the model.
The Achilli's heal on these cameras is not resolution, but connectivity. I am seeing a fair amount of complaints on Amazon, but in fairness, no more than any other wireless solar cameras. I have had literally 40 of these type of cameras over the years and connectivity tends to be an issue on all of them and this is irrespective of your home network quality. Mine for example ... I have 1gb network, wifi repeaters all over and monitor its health which is always A+, but still the cameras tend to be mostly good, but not as good as wired cameras.
Yup connectivity is always the weak spot. You're right about this. That's one of the reasons I'll only test models now with either internal storage or connection to a base station that's using its own antennas to connect. Since I am in the middle of testing some WiFi 7 routers and repeaters I happen to have great coverage here right now. Even so it glitches sometimes. But then I just grab the footage ota from it and download any clips I need. Nothing was as consistent as the old wired cameras I had two decades ago but they had no motion or subject detection so I'd have to stand and scroll through hours of footage to find anything. I'm also testing some PoE cameras and of course those don't have dropout issues but I'm also not in the mood to run cat5 to every exterior wall in my house.
I'm definitely watching just because you're so awesome. And handsome. You're both.
Oh you're too too kind. You're embarrassing me. Let's talk about you. What else do you like about me?
You can just unscrew the little plastic "T" bit directly above the heatsink. It comes out just enough to make the filament stub not get caught on anything.
Can I have a link to the Prusa profile? I can't find it.
Sometimes is is simply disconnected from Mac and if you don't have a second keyboard at start up to plug in, there is no way to access your Mac. It does it just like that. Also it would not hurt for Logitech to make a full video on how to explore all features.
You can speed up cooling the nozzle by turning on the fans - it moves so much air around the nozzle it helps it cool quicker since the tip of the nozzle is getting blasted by cold air. EDIT: I forgot to ask - how do you remove the cover to all of this without damaging it? I see spots I want to pry at but not going to take chances this is my baby.
HomeKit capable?
please slow taking down
Thanks!
or just use Orca slicer and not be behind the times
1) Orca is a fork of Bambu Studio 2) What is it here that only Orca can do?
Mine just hung itself on the extruder cable and ruined the Y and X axis wheels on only its second print.
I would LOVE to see a photo of that.
I’m very annoyed because I just bought mine 2 weeks ago I needed to change the nossle 12 times and then my heating element almost burnt my house down because the wires on the hotend short Circuited and not I need a new extruder
I just got my Neptune 4 Pro, and I'm quite happy. My first printer, bought it at about half msrp. I feel like its a really good starting point in 3D printing, and if i continue I can always get another printe.
It's definitely a great starting place. Especially at half MSRP.
My problem is that my nozzle hits the print and starts making spiderwebs what do I do to fix it
What you're describing is caused by one of two things, or both. That stringing is caused when the plastic isn't heated uniformly and comes out at different temps. The first issue is wet filament. The plastic absorbs moisture from the air, and wet filament makes spiderwebs. The usual failure with wet filament is plastic clogging or coming out in thicker clumps though. Even if you take the filament right out of the bag and print the filament could be wet if the ship center it was packaged in was humid. The solution is a print dryer. This is my favorite one. amzn.to/41AE4C1 I have a video on my channel aboout it. The other is print temperature, the temp right at the nozzle. Every filament type, batch, and sometimes spool is different. The way to tell is to print a temperature tower. You can google "temperature tower stl" for the model and "how to read a temperature tower 3d printing" for a tutorial.
This looks great! Love the no subscription. That "feature" is a killer when it comes to other options I have seen. I do have a question though. We are having work done at our house and currently, there is no internet set up but I would like to have something like this to keep and eye on things. Can this be setup off say my hotspot, set the parameters I want and then leave it to record? I know I wouldn't have any of the connected features while I was away from it, but I head there daily so I could check the footage each day for motion events. Thanks Dave.
Wait. Is this the dan klar I know? You could probably use a hotspot to access it. Not entirely sure. You have to configure the device with a phone. So if you had two phones and one was a hotspot and the other setting the device up it could work.
@@davetriesthis Yep, It's the Dan Klar you know. Hope you and the fam are well! Thanks for the follow up. I'm going to give it a shot and see how it goes. Once we move back in though, it will be nice to have this set up and ready to go, just connect it to the wifi.
Hey Dan!!! How are you? A reunion in the TH-cam comments!! If you get it, let me know if it works with a hotspot. Everything good in your life?
Amore common blob of dead is that the wheel falls off and jams the bed - but the printer keeps going while the bed stays still.
That is definitely not more common. What wheel falls off?
One thing you can't do with AMS,change a colour during print.
You can depending on how you want the color to change. If it's a piece you want to change colors at a specific layer you can set a filament change at the slicer. When the print gets to that point if you don't have an ams it will pause and let you unload then load another filament. Obviously not good for a piece that's got different colors at each level but still it's good for prints where the bottom of the model should be on color and the top another.
Slow down please. Not a word about actual nozzle swap..
Thanks
Forgive this question, but I have looked as so many keyboards I am nearly blind. I am looking for a QUIET mechanical keyboard. I’m 71 yrs old and have Parkinson’s Disease, so the usual apple magic keyboard doesn’t work for me. Is this a mechanical keyboard and will I get a more tactile feel than with the apple wireless keyboard ? Thank you so much for your opinion
Nothing to forgive, I'm happy to try to help. I find that quiet and mechanical are two things with keyboards that don't usually end up in the same product. A few recommendations. In this Amazon Influencer video of mine I go over a Satechi keyboard I think is a great middle ground. Great typing feel, quiet enough and durable. By quiet enough I mean that it's not like the quietness of the Magic keyboard. But it's not really loud like the Keychron or other gamer mechanical keyboards. One recommendation I have is the Satechi SM1 Here's my video on it on Amazon: www.amazon.com/live/video/0a9590c2beda493daf125ddc409061d6 The other is the Willow (sometimes called the Willow Pro) is a keyboard I haven't finished editing the video about. amzn.to/4g7qM4p They typing feel is excellent, with slightly rounded key tops and an excellent spring in the keypress. I am always sure I have pressed a key. And it's extremely quiet. I got my wife one for her office because she shares a room with her coworker. amzn.to/4g7qM4p
@ You are SO kind to take the time to create this amazing response. My Parkinson’s Disease gives me hand tremors so I need a keyboard that takes some effort to push the keys. I am so grateful for your recommendations. You didn’t have to do this and I am very thankful. Jim
Not yet but in a month yes
Love the comedy! Great stuff!
Thanks! It's always nice to have some fun with this stuff.
since the new Gen-3 is no longer Apple iHome compatible, what about setup of a Eufy security camera system with a display other than a cell phone?
I don't know of an interface besides an iPhone/iPad, though mostly that was true with models that could do HKSV. You could see the cameras in the home app on desktop but I find HKSV really clunky.
