    Nadine, if you haven't already, you should check out Dr Dray (US-based dermatologist), Liah Yoo (Krave Beauty) and Gothamista (Renée) here on YT for recommendations, advice and clarification regarding formulations of different products. Until watching them, I never used a moisturizer. Now, it's the primary staple in my routine and has proved to be far more effective than all the expensive serums and essences et al that I've bought over the years. I continue with a select few of those, but I always make sure I seal humectants in with a moisturizer.

  • @Christine-ry1qq
    @Christine-ry1qq 5 ปีที่แล้ว +28

    Great update thanks
    CERAVE over an humectant = great looking healthy skin ....It’s no nonsense It absolutely works and it’s extremely affordable.. And it’s all we need
    Our factor 50 has more than enough moisturising ingredients for the day too I don’t buy into the high end moisturiser hype
    Or essential oil hype they do more harm than good with all their irritating ingredients which can impair our skin barrier....
    have a great weekend xxx

    Hi Nadine. I would love to see a video with great moisturisers with spf in, especially mineral ones. Thanks!

  • @iwillstom
    @iwillstom 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I don't really get daytime moisturizers that don't have SPF. To me it seems like extra money and extra bother to have two separate creams. I use serums for moisture and skip the moisturizer and go straight to SPF. Love Cerave!

  • @xxcnd83xx
    @xxcnd83xx 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I've been trying to save some money this year so I've switched from the Clinique moisture surge moisturiser (which I love) to the Cerave moisturiser and I'm so happy with it. I love that it's cheap, unscented and is great under makeup. Thank you for another great recommendation! :)

    • @lorrainedanquah
      @lorrainedanquah 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Is the cerave much thicker than moisture surge?

    • @xxcnd83xx
      @xxcnd83xx 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@lorrainedanquah Yes, it's a little bit thicker but really not that much and the skin absorbes it quickly. I'm nicely surprised. If you pick it up, just be careful to pick up the moisturising lotion and not the moisturising cream. This one comes in a tube and is very thick.

    Good morning Nadine ; I just came over to your channel from watching Trinny videos . I will soon be 56 and suffered with acne and oily skin most of my life . I am currently looking to take charge of my skin . I have grown up in the era where we used the 3 step plan and heavy duty toners like Sea Breeze . I will soon be shopping for a gentle cleanser , a good vitamin C serum and a good retinol product . I do use a sunscreen everyday and will soon be ordering Trinny's products . have a great day .

  • @SmileyShazza
    @SmileyShazza 5 ปีที่แล้ว

    I've stripped back my cleanser and moisturiser to products which are cheaper due to a change in my employment and not having as much money and I can honestly say they work just as well as the high end products I was using before. I think all skins need a moisturiser but it dies too necessarily need to be fancy or expensive.
    You look lovely in this video, make up looks perfect x

    I have never been a fan of traditional moisturizers, but some of the newer formulas are really worth a second look.

  • @NavaBBrahe
    @NavaBBrahe 5 ปีที่แล้ว

    Hi Nadine! Further to not needing a traditional "moisturizer", you can find so many foundations on the market today that have skin care ingredients already in them, so putting them on top of a moisturizer is redundant. I find brands like IT Cosmetics (which I know you love), Tarte, Milk Makeup, and now even Clinique's new foundation, have significant moisturizing properties. I find I need only a light serum to start during the day (I love Beauty Pie's Uber Youth), and then foundation. We're around the same age, but my skin is on the drier side. I do so love all the technology going into today's skin care, as well as your videos. :-)

    I've gone round the woods and am back to enjoying Elemis pro collagen marine ( 50ml pots left over from various qvc tsv 😬) , which definitely sits in the cream/serum category. I'm 58, have started using low strength retinol and have found that Elemis pcm is perfect at night once the tret has sunk in, and in the day over niod multi molecular hyarulonic complex- use both right up to my eyeline ( and down my neck and into my chest ) with no irritation or puffiness . I slot in a serum with vit c etc as well, but avoiding directly under my eyes . I have the cicaplast B5 and lip but don't really enjoy either 😟, preferring oriflame tender Care, Nuxe reve de Miel or Clarins skin beauty repair concentrate for 'Emergency ' treatments . I've been using the clarins off and on for about 18 yrs now ,and the cheap little pot of oriflame for over 30 yrs!

    Have a look at Uncover products developed by dr Jetske Ultee (you can practice on that one !). It’s a Dutch dermatologist. I used it many years ago probably when I was still expecting wonders of skin care. I cannot begin to sum up what I’ve tried in my 60 years on this planet. High end, high street, The Ordinary, Paula’s Choice, ... you name it. I never ever got what I wanted which was just great skin ! Not that the sagging went away. Not that the wrinkles would disappear but just that I looked at it’s best. In the end I suffered from terrible irritation because I tried everything together and had to use creams from the doctor for several months. Then I thought about going back to basics and ordered the complete range of Uncover again which is only 5 products ... after a few weeks my skin started to look much better. You have to build it up because it is full of active ingrediënts ! And by now my skin is back to where it has been many years ago. Yes it has aged but it looks great. The next thing I did in fact by accident was starting to use the mineral make up by Creative Cosmetics. I did this because I also spent fortunes on make up mostly Bobbi Brown. But I was never satisfied. No matter what I tried there was no glow. The was glitter. The foundations where always very obvious. In short I looked made up. I didn’t look fresh and healthy. I want people to say You look great ! Not You have a beautiful make up on. And that’s where I am now. I know by now that this mineral make up adds to the health of your skin. I didn’t realize that because I never liked powders because I always thought they were even more aging ! But they are not. I hope I will stay this satisfied. The only thing is : what do I do with all these expensive products I’ll never use again. Very painfull to have to throw them in the bin 😩 btw I am Belgian not Dutch so I’m not raving about my country women 😻

    Hello,
    I usually care for my skin, e.g. masks, toners, cleanses, serums etc. But I have skin tags that I wanted to remove and purchased a liquid online that you apply to the skin tag and whilst it mentioned that a "bit of stinging" would be felt, I seem to have "burnt" my skin and wonder if you had any suggestions? Love all your videos and followed you for ages.

    Hi Nadine, could you recommend a body moisturiser to help with loss of elasticity, which I am noticing now. I am in my late 40s and have lost 2 stone in weight over the last 12 months. I have a healthy diet, don't drink or smoke, and protect my skin in the sun. Thanks

    Hi Nadine, can you recommend anything from the Perricone range please? I really like their products

      Perricone cleanser. Removes EVERY TRACE OF MAKEUP. Best on the market. I have acne prone + pigmemented skin. I have tried everything from high end to high street. Cleanse 'twice' leave on longer. Clear gel formula in a pump. Watch your skin colour 'change' much brighter....I LOVE IT! Good luck.....

    By the way Nadine- have you tried the cerave since they changed the formulae of both the wash and moisturiser ? It's definitely not as nice now 😫

    My dermatologist doesn't let me use moisturisers😞. He prescribed two seruns (retinol) and an SPF 50...

      Márcia Marques It’s because there is no such thing as serum. Serum is just a marketing word that was invented by companies to sell more products. A serum is just a lightweight moisturizer in most cases since they include silicones that act as wonderful occlusives. And during daytime your sunscreen will act as a moisturizer of course.
