    Nadine,
I agree every time you turn around someone is recommending a new product. I have been a holistic master esthetician for over 35 years and the fact is the skin is the largest organ of the body and the easiest to care for. Feed it , don’t cover it up with tons of make up, wear a wide brimmed hat in the sun and a zinc oxide or titanium dioxide sunscreen. Also eat foods that help your body and your skin. I don’t believe in invasive procedures BUT if someone chooses to do them, get your skin in shape first. No product will work miracles if you do not use antioxidant skin care and if you are not consistent and on a regime. Anti aging is possible🙌🏻 beautiful skin is possible 🙌🏻 it has been my life’s work. I enjoyed your perspectives very much. Thank You 🍑🙌🏻Lisa

I have been an esthetician for over 35 years and I own three holistic skin care salons. I have worked with dermatologist and cosmetic surgeons and I have extra training. I choose to correct skin issues naturally with nothing invasive and I don’t even do anything invasive ( no injectables ) or wear foundation or concealer. Some states recognize a Master and others don’t. In my business I am considered a Master in my field. I hope that helps. Thank You for wanting to be kind. 🍑🙌🏻Lisa

Any specific and scientifically backed up reasons for recommending Titanium Dioxide or Zinc Oxide sunscreens rather than a chemical one? Also, what makes you say that skin is the easiest organ to care for? I really do not think you can compare organs to each other, especially as skin is the only one that is exposed to the elements.

I just wanted to say thanks for the great advice as always. After your video on products for stressed out skin, I decided to try the Hado Labo Gold. I had been using The Ordinary HA, but it didnt seem to be making much difference. The Hado Labo arrived mid February, and I have been using it every day since, morning and night. It IS a complete game changer. I have lines and wrinkles, quite a few since I'm nearly 63 and have had no procedures or facial treatments at all (plus I've lived and laughed ..... a lot!) so I wasnt expecting much difference to be honest, but it really has de-stressed my skin in this short time, and made it feel less tight, and look a lot smoother too. I love its gloopiness and it glides on beautifully and doesnt leave a sticky after-texture, nor does it pil when I apply moisturiser on top. Thanks SO much for your advice. Can I also say that I have been using the Superdrug Vitamin E cleanser for years and years, and it really IS a hero product.

The Hada Labo Alpha is a bit lighter for daytime or sensitivity and the Premium is more rich and intense for evening use. Pyungkang Yul toner is brilliant for extremely sensitive skin and has a million uses. Fab HG product. My best cleanser by far is Sum:37 Losec Summa as a 2nd cleanser. Super high-end luxurious formulation and works amazingly well. I let it sit on my skin (avoiding eyes) for 10 mins to let the magic happen. I use basic EV olive oil for 1st cleanser for stubborn makeup.

  • @briannab4770
    @briannab4770 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

Nadine, I'm sure you can stick with Tretinoin! If you are flaking copiously and can't bear the side effects, * ease into it* ! Even if it means you have to do it ever so incrementally.
Honestly, even if it means you start out once a week and mixing a tiny bit of it with moisturizer in the palm of your hand, you must get on the Tretinoin bandwagon and you won't regret it! It's sinful that the beauty know-it-all has yet reap the benefits of it!
I know Tretinoin is notorious for the "ugly phase" that often lasts months, but I promise - unless you have some sort of severe sensitivity to it - you can bypass that phase if you take it very very slowly. I started out with once every 5 days and used half a pea-sized blob in with a ton of my moisturizer, and now, 7 months later, I'm fully acclimated to it.
I did have a flakey phase, but that's because I got impatient and just zoomed up to doing it more frequently, but prior to that - no flaking.

    Great video thanks very informative
Please could you recommend an every day moisturiser for teenage boy with the odd spot ,blackhead but not acne. Using la Roche posay effaclar at the moment
Anyone you think may be more effective and possibly cheaper but efficiency more important.
    Thank you in advance 🙂💕

Hi Nadine, could I use Alpha H liquid gold once or twice a week if I’m using 0.1 tretnoin? Obviously not on the same nights

Do you think it’s worth adding in an essence, or are they a waste of money? I’m looking at an Elemis one but it’s £60!

I am having such difficulties including c-vit to my routine since I get the tingling peeling effect even mixed with moist. I have not tried so many though, do you have any tips on a good starter c-vit - or is it the one here in the vid that you recommend even for beginners? Your vidz are always amazing btw

You have beautiful skin. May I ask how old you are? I take good care of myself but have sun damage from when I was a child (before I knew better.)

I came to the conclusion, as you did with prescription retinoids, that vitamin c doesn’t work for me. They all irritate my skin. Within 3 weeks using it, my face is red, bumpy and very dry. The funny thing is, I use a very strong prescription tretinoin from Curology. It’s true that skincare is a personal journey for discovering what works for us.

      Becky,
I hope you don’t mind my comment? Many times what you are seeing is old damaged tissue coming up. We do most of our damage before the age of 21-22 years old, so for the rest of your life you are doing more damage but that damage is always coming up or the skin becomes calloused over it because we’re not taking care of our skin properly.
When you begin a regime that exfoliates or starts to remove that callous layer, think of 30 extra thick layers, you will start to see things come up and sometimes that can be flaking or bumps or irritation when that happens just care for the skin more and once you get through that process your skin will be amazing. Also if you wear foundation and concealer‘s or bad skin care or sunscreen, you will just inhibit the healing process and you will make it worse. Said with love and kindness. I’m a holistic master esthetician of over 35 years and it’s my passion. Love to help 🍑🙌🏻Lisa

I really like Sunday Riley'sA+ High-Dose Retinoid Serum a lot. I got the RX but I just could not stick with that. It was too harsh for my sensitive skin. I like the texture of the serum and it doesn't irritate my skin. I only use it once a week. I should probably use it more. Thanks!

The Boots near me is open, but the Superdrug is not. The Superdrug does not have a pharmacy counter - which may be the reason. I think it depends on the size of the store and where you live. x

Would LOVE an in depth review of the r-Retinoate Intense. Fairly certain that Medik8 and Verso are alone in using the novel molecule, and I'd love to know exactly how you (and others) feel it compares to traditional retinol or retinaldehydes.

Hi, I have combination skin as well and for the past few years have been using Etude House Sunprise SPF 50 - a Korean brand. It works really well and is available from Yesstyle & Amazon or reliable ebay sellers (I have a couple of favourites for K beauty). I also use a Japanese sunscreen by Canmake but am not sure if that is a mineral one, it certainly doesn't irritate my skin.
