STUNNING RESULTS - Woodturning Spalted Tamarind To Functional Art Bowl

- In this video, I turn a special treat of a bowl from a bought blank of wood that I have always wanted to turn, but never bought until now. The wood is a 6” square x 3” thick spalted tamarind blank that looks to be very spalted, but still stable. The wood is dry, turns well with a sharp tool and takes on a gorgeous shine using Ack’s Pastes. There are bug holes as well and I do run into one punky/bug hole area and have to turn away a bit more than I wanted to, but I am extremely happy with the result. Hi Japie. Thank you so much for watching. No, not a lidded bowl (great idea though). I planned on making the bowl taller, but ran into some punky rotten wood and turned it away. 😊😊
@@copperowlwoodturning5929 yes thats why your Tennon broke too. But, it was lovely. My mother were so scared you were gonna use resin coz that wood is so beautiful 🤣. So i said to her no, Rob doesnt use resin 😁
