This is good I had a job that turned into a two day cleaning 4 hours each time. I put the bid as a flat rate and charged $95 instead of $95 both times because I didn't charge by the hour. The customer needed a bit more than expected and one of the rooms needed more TLC than the others and took a lot of the time. Charging by the hour might be the best approach for it. God bless 🇯🇲❤️🇯🇲🇯🇲
What if the house cleaner gets cheated out of a 4 hour cleaning because of the customer’s “unsatisfaction?” I’m starting up my cleaning service & I’d be concerned about this
I do a free visit to give an estimate, that's helped me to get to know a little about my potential client, and since I'm pretty new I get to see how bad it is, cause I don't know exactly what questions to ask over the phone. So far, it's worked for me (as long as the client is not 20 minutes or more far from me), so I think you should try and see if you feel comfortable with this method
I don’t trust everyone to be so honest. What’s to say they are satisfied but they say they aren’t to get a free cleaning? At most I would offer 50% money back guarantee. That way you’re not walking away from a job that you paid money to do in the first place no matter how near or far ( gas, time, energy, products …). While you could potentially get a new client, the other side of the coin is you may not. Working for free is not something that I would want to do. Time is money and I should at least be compensated for that especially if the client and I have discussed what their expectations are ahead of time, and I’ve addressed them to the best of my ability. If I feel I couldn’t or didn’t execute what they were looking for then, I would adjust the money back guarantee. That’s just what I would do.
Hi Angela I’m just so addicted to all your videos I have a question I met a lady today at an estate sale and I told her I do housecleaning and she said she needed someone to do House Cleaning at her house she said that she would also help me clean how do I go about that if a client tells you they will clean with you
I love it when clients are willing to help. That said, unless they work for your company and are insured by you, they are not covered under the job you are guaranteeing. I would honor the fact that she is willing to help, but if she is hiring you, let her go do other stuff and leave the cleaning to you. You're the expert. 🙏
Angela, I decided to charge by the job because It takes me forever to clean bathrooms and I don’t think it is fair for the client. Some people are faster than others and I like to take my time. I am very pick. Help me change it please 😭
What do you usually charge because it takes me longer too but I don’t want to put in hours of work for little money. The one house I clean takes me 7 hours and I make $140=$70 an hour.
Unfortunately in this area, some people will take advantage of this. They will say that they are not happy with the job you did. Then they will wait 2 weeks, a month or more; have a different house cleaner come and do the same thing all over again. So they are getting their house cleaned for free, until everyone who cleans catches on.
Sharon, Thanks so much for reaching out. Houses can need deep cleans at different frequencies depending on how dirty they get. If you are interested in a monthly cleaning job then you should do it.
@@AskAngelaBrown I don’t use a software yet, I’ve based my work as flat rate. Every piece has a set time (0.1 = 6 minutes / 1.0= 1 hour) then the total is added up. 3.7 is 3 hours, 42 minutes then you convert it using your hourly rate. (base $25hr for 3.7 = $92.50) I would like your help because I know there’s a national standard flat rate for house cleaning but I can’t find it.
I've had a lot of people's scold me in the house cleaning industry because I do not approve of giving free estimates all over town. I ask the client a few questions, do you have pets, inside windows cleaning?, inside appliances? last time you had the house cleaned? (all the questions you suggest). Based on those answers and square footage I can typically get within 50 to $60 which I let them know could change more or less once I get there. Nine times out of 10 if you give a price that's in the clients range and you have reviews and pictures online you will book the job because they need the clean. When I started out I used to go to every house that called me. I would have a little pamphlet and booklet and walk all over the house and talk to the dog... LOL I adore most of my clients but I just don't have the time for that. Now if a client specifically asked me to come because they have extenuating circumstances I'll either ask them to take a picture or I go. Am I wrong for that?!😂 All the blogs say its wrong not to do free estimates and walk throughs
Angela Brown well your absolutely correct because I could have never been comfortable doing what I do now in the beginning. Your platform is so valuable. I wish the videos were longer!😍
Yes. The secret is to use a worksheet and clarify the customer expectations up front to avoid surprises. Everything you check off the list is included in your Satisfaction Guarantee. You can download a free copy of our worksheets here: savvycleaner.com/worksheets
It does sound stupid at first glance, but we don't give discounts. So it's bidding a job at a reasonable rate that people are willing to pay to "take a chance on an unknown cleaner, with no experience" gets money coming in right away. It gives the cleaner experience they need to grow their business and the confidence in their work to command and be able to justify a higher price.

I love the fact that you go to the point on your videos, not short, not long. 😁
Thanks.
You have great points they are simple and to the point, for newbees who do not understand the job bid of this housecleaning business

A walkthrough and a worksheet helps prevent this.

I need to know if I should take a job doing a deep clean once a month ? Does need a deep clean every month ?

I’m not new anymore :D I charge by the job only because I am a detailer. Every piece has a price whether it’s 2 or 20 minutes
Do you us a software to keep track of the price for each piece? If so, which one do you use?

Thank you! very useful! think I won't stop until I watch all you videos :)
Glad you like them! Thank you so much for taking the time to binge watch my videos, I appreciate it!
Nice!!!
Thank you!
I would never offer to not be paid for my work, but I doubt that would happen
Thank you for your feedback and thanks for watching. 🙂

I wouldn't put it past the occasional person to say they don't like the cleaning (even though they really do) just to get that free cleaning.
It has happened and it still happens to some. Thanks for watching!
So if you change by the hour and not everything is done, do just leave without finishing the job??

This works!
Why would you recommend to underbid just because you are not experienced. That’s just stupid 👎🏼
