Chris's Mom was killed on MANTle Street and AsteROID Drive = Mantroid. The villain that Chris sees as having taking his Mom away from him and the supervillain that he must vanquish Chris' imagination is his escape from both this tragedy and the circumstances of his life now with his Dad
The "To be Continued" was because this was a free demo to tease LiS 2. I can't remember if it was like this for others, but I went in cold, so playing when it came out, the context of the ending was different... Because I didn't know that's Daniel that saved him (or that they would be the main characters of LiS 2), I thought two random neighbors bore witness to Chris' new powers! Anyway, the child vocal performance of Chris is so good, and what this story is really about gets me choked up. And the music! No joke, Captain Spirit is my favorite Life is Strange thing after the first game. Happy to see you play this. Also, your moo mug with the little udders is insane 😋
So happy you are playing this. On the surface it would just appear to be a short game about a kid with an overactive imagination. However, it packs as much of an emotional punch as the main games and deals with such issues as alcoholism, abuse, parental neglect and most importantly, how people (in this case a child) deal with grief
2:03:57 That last part where he falls from the tree house, and the music kicks in...chills EVERY time! I've lost count the amount of times I've watched that part, everything about it is so perfect...the feels, the camera angles, the music! Im so glad you decided to play this, your reaction was PERFECT!
I am currently bawling my eyes out because of that song the mom was singing. I can’t imagine where I’d be without my mom. I’m 22 and she’s just helped me with so much. Thinking about her being gone is just a lot. ❤️
Omg i’m crying so much at that ending😭😭 thank you so much kasta! i absolutely love your playthroughs for life is strange! i was looking for a full commentary playthrough for LiS1 remastered and binged that series because you play so in depth which i love because my favorite part of games are the story!! now i’m watching your LiS2 gameplay and it’s sooo amazing how well i process the game through you! I’m more attached to LiS1 characters, but i am REALLY loving LiS2 as a whole a loot more 💖💖🫶 wish you nothing but the best! (i’m still crying)
This is such a great little game. I also have to emphasize the fact that it has been free since it was released. Like, there’s a full story told in this, there’s so much to do, it ties into the main game…and it’s never cost a dime. The devs didn’t have to do that, but they did. Anyway, I also love how much it ties thematically into the story of the main game. Chris makes choices for his toys that determine what kind of heroes they are, and how they use the power they have.
im such a fanatic for lis games and have been following all their releases but could never afford them myself, id just watch others play it. so imagine my excitement when i learned this one was free. didnt know itd become one of my favorite lis games. thats truly good writing to pack such a punch in less than 4 hours of gameplay.
genuinely so ecstatic you played this. youre one of my fav youtubers and this game is so special to me so its the playthrough of the year for me. i played this when i was 14 and it stuck!! im 20 now just happy to see anyone experience and appreciate it for the first time like i did way back then. love your vids!
I’m so glad you took the time to play this before continuing LIS2, the story was really interesting as a story to sit down and play through, just seeing Chris and his dad and what they’re going through is actually really saddening to play through. Also the letter from wells and Blackwell was written in 2011 it was a really cool lore piece, I’m pretty sure LIS before the storm is set in 2010 too so it was interesting to read this letter knowing that, and im pretty sure you never meet Emily in LIS1 or Before the strom. Also fun fact, the voice actor for Chris’s dad is actually the same voice actor who plays Leon Kennedy in Resident evil’s 2&4 remakes.
I love seeing you play this and nearly completing everything! I wasn't able to figure out the phone my first time too. Looking forward to the next Life is Strange 2 episode!
When we tell you Chris is our sweet boi and he must be protected always. ❤❤ That song that plays when he finds the hidden "treasure" with his mom's pictures, it always made me tear up, every single time. Such a fun, sad little story
it's honestly very hard to explain the relationship between Chris and his dad...but you will learn more about them later in LIS 2 when you meet them with Sean and Daniel. Essentially they are all each other has left, Chris wants to stay with his dad and vice versa but both friends and distant relatives are concerned the dad is not up to it anymore since the mum passed away. i've known fathers like charles...he does care...he is trying...accidents happen...and to the casual observer or someone not living in the house it's easy to think a "accident" is something much worse. the letter is 2015 when you are playing as chris it is 2016...hope that helps. Chris lives in Beaver Creek, Oregon which isn't far from Arcadia Bay, Oregon. Emily would have been at Blackwell before Max and Chloe.
Chris's dad calls him down for breakfast. Kasta: "let's go down so he doesn't get mad, I'll look at one more thing" (proceeds to look at everything else in the room)
I'm so happy yoh played this! 🤗 I love how sucked in you get. Your reaction when you seen the boys was so amazing. Keep playing these! I want to see you play them all 🙏
I love how raw Life is Strange gets and how it incorporates the beauty of life and in this, the purity of a child. It makes it soo impactful as an adult playing, and interacting with worlds that were created for us to just sit down and take us into a whole different perspective. I find it so heartbreaking but to also find the beauty in the little things makes our lives that much brighter in comparison to these stories. (Also that 25:55 article about kids covered in mustard is EXTREMELY DISTURBING it reminds me of that creep Dan Schneider posting on Twitter back in the day asking KIDS to draw smiley faces on their toes and post their pictures for a chance to “win” something *if I remember correctly* . Life is Strange definitely gets dark in ways that can truly make you sick especially knowing it’s very much real.)
This is great! I was afraid you had given up on Life is Strange 2. I'm so glad to see you're still going, and I love that you played this mini-episode now! My daughter played it back when we first got Life is Strange 2, but for whatever reason, I never got to play Captain Spirit, so it's good to see what happened.
I'm so happy you played this! 🤗 I love your reaction when you seen the boys. Keep on playing these! I wanna see you play them all 🙏 also I hope you have an amazing Wednesday 💖
Don't feel bad. I didn't get the PIN and I don't know anyone that did without looking the answer up. I believe it has something to do with the Hawt Dog Man game
There were a few more dates to try from the newspaper clippings in the garage, unless you tried them when I wasn't paying attention. I was sure it was gonna be either the wedding date or the year the mom was born.
This is the Ultimate showdown of ultimate destiny!!!! lmao thats crazy I remember that man that was so long ago completely forgot about it! Now I gotta go watch it
I cant find it anymore, it used to be on youtube but someone made a short film about this game, bascily just a film version of everything that happens, i wish i could still find it
24:50 I'm surprised you didn't get Emily's mother's inference when she stated "I know life has been hard since Emily left us," she passed away. I don't see Emily leaving her son in the care of Charles if she believes him to be an alcoholic. It's clear Charles has an issue with alcohol. That's not an assumption. Emily's parents know, Chris knows, the neighbors next door know. As the player you can see this as well. No one wants to confront Charles directly, I imagine out to fear for Chris's safety. So a more diplomatic approach is taking, hoping Charles gets the hint and seeks help. Confronting Charles directly I suspect would probably just make the situation worse.
I spent a couple years in a battered women's shelter with my my Mom. I remember seeing women with torn earlobes and a I had a crush on the resident blonde girl
I do agree you do learn how to be by yourself as an only child but as someone who lived 22-35 min away from town or even your school it becomes depressing at times having not a single person near your age range you and I mean even if you do live in a city but have super strict parents I’m sure it’s the same feeling you just feel trapped don’t get me wrong my mom and grandma were always my best friends but sometimes it really just sucked during my childhood once I got a license it was a little better but nobody is ever willing to make the effort to come my way 🤧
I played the game back when it came out. I ignored Chris's dad lol, continued to explore his room. He gets mad regardless of your choice. There are things around Chris's room that gave the impression he dearly loved his mother, and she loved him. I also got the feeling she wasn't around anymore. Charles calls Chris somewhat annoyed. If Chris's mom was around she would of made breakfast not the dad. Once in the kitchen it's fairly obvious what's going on. There was no divorce. Chris's mom was essentially an angel in his eyes. She would have custody of him in the case of a divorce. Her passing away can be the only other explanation. It's pretty straight forward Charles has a drinking problem. Drinking beer for breakfast followed by a whisky chaser is not a healthy way to start your day. Even Chris at nine years old is aware of this. It's pretty clear that Chris's dad grabbed his arm in anger. He apprehensively asks Chris if anyone has asked about his arm. I suspect the possibility of Child Protective Services getting involved would be a real concern for him. It's a sad situation.
Cant wait to see you play more of this! Havent watched all recent videos and I am wondering, what are the next games you plan on playing? And will you be playing 'Lost Records: Bloom & Rage'? its from the same company from the people who made LIS but I believe the game is completely different from LIS universe! Hope you can check it out!
YESS I am really glad you chose to play this cuz episode 2 of Life is Strange 2 will just be a much better experience for you now after having played this
Wow this is the first time I've heard of this game but from the title the Awesome Adventures of Captain Spirit and the beautiful music playing at the beginning it sounds like it's going to be a great game thanks for playing this Awesome Kasta thank you.🎆😽🎆
Hey there Kasta, watching you play this game was so much fun to watch and enjoyable and I thought that the storytelling was good and the music as well. And why do you wanna unlock my phone sooo badly haha I'm just messing with you lol. 🤣🤣
I find a weird comfort in the father son dynamic Charles and Chris have. Because it’s clear that Charles loves his son very much and feels mortified whenever he hurts him out of anger (like for example in the scene where he asks Chris about the bruise on his arm) or when he blows steam with his son (like in the scene after you finish talking to the old lady and he gets angry at Chris but immediately realizes) They are so cute together in a weird way
it's the details that make captain spirit important...and most of them are very hard to find on a first playthrough, these include: where is the mum/ what happened to the mum/ who is mantroid/ what does mantroid mean/ the mum's backstory/ the dad's backstory/ the connection between the mum and LIS 1.
Yeah, abuse isn't really zero to sixty. It starts as isolated events here and there. His dad's alcoholism definitely fueled his anger. He's caring enough sober or mostly sober, but as soon as he's drunk, he's a danger to his kid 😢 The mom is dead, sadly.
Well, somebody solved it. That's why we can look it up now. But I agree it's pretty hard and the game doesn't give you any hints, like not to look for numbers in general or how long the word is etc.

The fact that Chris' dad clearly loves him but still mistreats him is the saddest part about this :(
Yeah, I want to hate Charles so bad, but can only feel deep sadness and pity
that's an unfortunate reality of grief and alcoholism. it can turn the nicest people into the meanest
Chris's Mom was killed on MANTle Street and AsteROID Drive = Mantroid. The villain that Chris sees as having taking his Mom away from him and the supervillain that he must vanquish
Chris' imagination is his escape from both this tragedy and the circumstances of his life now with his Dad

i found your channel not too long ago and i have to say i really love your perspective on things. you're very emotionally intelligent
the awesome adventures of captain spirit is one of my favorite pieces of life is strange. heartbreakingly beautiful and loved your commentary on it.
genuinely so ecstatic you played this. youre one of my fav youtubers and this game is so special to me so its the playthrough of the year for me. i played this when i was 14 and it stuck!! im 20 now just happy to see anyone experience and appreciate it for the first time like i did way back then. love your vids!
YES!! Hearing Sufjans Stevens at the beginning of the playthrough...that was awesome!!
Makes me cry every time, god I love Sufjan Stevens’ music 😭
@@gladeseason3462 it just does that, right?
the whole album that the song is off of is so good and matches this game so perfectly, now thats what you call a creative decision
14:37 That genuine shock haha oh Kasta so innocent. "Is he drinking a beer in the morning"
I’m so glad you took the time to play this before continuing LIS2, the story was really interesting as a story to sit down and play through, just seeing Chris and his dad and what they’re going through is actually really saddening to play through. These games make me realise how important and how much I love a good soundtrack in a game❤
I would honestly LOVE more short narrative games like this.
I rarely sub to any channel, i did because of your honest reaction at the end
You are a genuine gamer
This is the cutest thing ever 😭
Cant wait for Chris to meet Sean and Daniel
This developer is amazing at making the situations seem real it's great they make it uncomfortable as well as sweet
I'm so happy yoh played this! 🤗 I love how sucked in you get. Your reaction when you seen the boys was so amazing. Keep playing these! I want to see you play them all 🙏

Living for all the Sufjan Steven’s music in this game
Im loving this letsplay
What a cool kid. I can't wait to see him in the rest of Life is Strange 2!
Well done, I really enjoyed it.
Haha I had to same reaction as you to the cover kid in mustard and send in a pic
it’s funny how this is a comfort game but the topics are so upsetting
Hello Maggie! Hope all is well! Looking forward to this week. Have a great one!
Another amazing playthrough Kastaclysm ❤❤😁😁.
Don't feel bad. I didn't get the PIN and I don't know anyone that did without looking the answer up. I believe it has something to do with the Hawt Dog Man game

Your second outfit looks like the Rachel amber’s outfit 😭
He definitely has powers did you see that he was able to transfer the tape to the outside of his coat when he went outside😂
Chris doesn't actually have powers, but he has an artistic license.
I cant find it anymore, it used to be on youtube but someone made a short film about this game, bascily just a film version of everything that happens, i wish i could still find it
the password for the phone is literally "hawt dawg" i believe, but also didn't find it without looking it up

Ah Chris's dad, he also played Leon in RE2/4 Remake :)
the graffiti says WINO

You dress like Max from life is strange 1 when she wear Rachel's flannel.
I was lucky that I did treasure quest as the last one in my playthrough and it bawled my eyes
I got this too when i got life is strange s2 over the weekend cant wait to play im started beyond two souls first 💙
The adventure of Captain spirit
YESS I am really glad you chose to play this cuz episode 2 of Life is Strange 2 will just be a much better experience for you now after having played this
Glad you played it. I hope that you also play "Life is Strange Before the Storm". This is the prequel to the first "Life is Strange".
Wow this is the first time I've heard of this game but from the title
the Awesome Adventures of Captain Spirit and the beautiful music
playing at the beginning it sounds like it's going to be a great game
thanks for playing this Awesome Kasta thank you.🎆😽🎆
nice!!!
My theory is that they lived in Arcadia Bay, but then they had to move because of the storm
The game states they had to leave because they couldn’t afford rent anymore.
yay Kasta 👀🔥
I just played captain spirit , in the garage i found more papers on chris mom she went to blackwell
Maggie 😅 I thought you were confused that he didn't have cable and not being able to turn on the TV 😅
Anyone know the song playing at the 52minute mark?
Bat for Lashes - Moon and Moon
@@ItsKNL Thanks a lot :-)
🔥
I read your bio on Instagram and i can totally relate! Do you have any tricks on how to work off such a pile of games?
Perfect thing watch and chill after work. Btw, i cant find your LIS1 videos, are they on youtube? i wanna binge them 😢
Yes they are! Search up “kastaclysm life is strange” a whole playlist should come up. ❤
If you go to her channel, she has a playlist called Life is Strange ☺️
The mom/wife is dead. That's what I got from the letter from her parents to their son in law.
Hey there Kasta, watching you play this game was so much fun to watch and enjoyable and I thought that the storytelling was good and the music as well. And why do you wanna unlock my phone sooo badly haha I'm just messing with you lol. 🤣🤣
Я пропустила это дополнение ко 2 эпизоду Lis, когда играла, и наконец узнала, что там было и почему он так выбежал из дома
Phone code hawt dawg that in numbers
I find a weird comfort in the father son dynamic Charles and Chris have.
Because it’s clear that Charles loves his son very much and feels mortified whenever he hurts him out of anger (like for example in the scene where he asks Chris about the bruise on his arm) or when he blows steam with his son (like in the scene after you finish talking to the old lady and he gets angry at Chris but immediately realizes)
They are so cute together in a weird way

where is the mum/ what happened to the mum/ who is mantroid/ what does mantroid mean/ the mum's backstory/ the dad's backstory/ the connection between the mum and LIS 1.
Any plans to do Spider-Man 2?
The plan is to play Spider-Man 2 at some point in the next ∞ years as I make my way through my massive games backlog 😄
yoo!!
yoo back at ya!!
Wait why are you playing this before the next chapter …😭😭‼️
It literally came out as a demo for LiS2...
Yeah, abuse isn't really zero to sixty. It starts as isolated events here and there. His dad's alcoholism definitely fueled his anger. He's caring enough sober or mostly sober, but as soon as he's drunk, he's a danger to his kid 😢
The mom is dead, sadly.
This has better writing than Life is Strange 2
That'll explain why I loved this, yet only got to episode 2 (I think!) of LIS2 before I lost interest 🤣 I might watch it all if Maggie plays it all.
you could have spent 10 hours on the cell pin and you wouldn't have got it. it's basically impossible to get without looking it up
Well, somebody solved it. That's why we can look it up now. But I agree it's pretty hard and the game doesn't give you any hints, like not to look for numbers in general or how long the word is etc.
The phone code is a dishonest red herring, which is apparently intended to make the player carefully examine everything else in the game. I doubt very much that anyone ever solved it, unless that person was an idiot savante. More likely, the game developers leaked the code so people would be able to look it up online after they became frustrated with trying to discover it.
Please play Days Gone.
What's up with the reading voice? I notice you do it every time you read anything, in any game. Lol
thank you for playing this 🤍
