Going to share a true story, 26 years of age just got saved. I wanted my parents to be saved got on my knees, one night, and I was crying and weeping for my parents salvation,
    I decide to fast -
    I didn’t know how to fast ,
I didn’t know the first thing about fasting, any rules, steps, I just didn’t eat -I drank water ,I plan to do this for a week…
The third day I’m driving ,I was a travel, agent delivering tickets… And all of a sudden I felt a cool wind blowing on my face. It wasn’t a hot day, my air conditioner wasn’t on, the windows weren’t down…
as I was driving, I was thinking where is that wind coming from… Then all of a sudden my body lit up like a Christmas tree and I heard these words “the wind blows, and you do not know where it comes or where it’s going, so it is with the Holy Spirit”
… And with that a heavy presence of the Lord was in my car…
I had to pull over I was crying, my head off…
I was saying to Lord, I’m sorry because I felt a sinful person… And I heard these words come out of my heart… I love you, I love you, I love you, I love you, and I believe if I didn’t say “stop, my heart is gonna pop”
the Lord would’ve kept going… And then I heard these words… Your parents are gonna be saved… And with that the presence was gone…
15 years later, both my parents received Jesus Christ is Lord and Savior.
This is a true story… I guess my point may be… There was no rules I followed, there were no steps, followed
There’s just a broken heart, wanting my parents to be saved… And I believe God honored that because he saw my heart… God bless guys love you

When I was in a charismatic church, we were mandated to fast in order for God to “pour down his blessings” upon us. Nothing I fasted for ever came to fruition but instead I lost a lot of weight and was basically malnourished. Shame on me for not really understanding the Bible back then, so I 100% agree with you brother Corey. 🙏

Thank you so much for sharing your insight with us. I have watched several of your videos over the last few months and have gained from them. This time it was concerning not my fasting so much as what I’m fasting for (the salvation of lost loved ones may be a decent focus, yes-but it really should be just more about HIM) and what I’m doing during my fasting (would certainly watch tv, esp in the evening -but that word from you spoke to me; I’m going to be more focused on my King and spiritual things during my future fasts).
Thank you again. I appreciate your work.

For there is no other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved. Jesus is the only way to heaven, not through Buddha, not Muhammad, not Mary, nor Krishna, not any other pagan deity not even yourself. No man is righteous, not one. For you to go to heaven you must be born again. And being born again is a supernatural work of God which takes place in your heart. The bible says that God will take your stony heart, and give you a heart of flesh. And once you die, there is no reincarnation, for we will immediately present ourselves before God to prepare for judgement. If you don't repent (which means to change your mind) and trust in Jesus Christ you will not inherit heaven and will perish for eternity in hell. The bad news is that because of your sins, you are separated from God, and since He's a just God, sin must be punished. You can't pay for your wages because once you've broken the law you cannot justify yourself with your righteousness since your works are as filthy rags. You can never reach sanctification by your own merits because the standard of righteousness is perfect. Since God understood we cannot merit nor be righteous on our own, God Himself came to merit His own laws through Jesus Christ, who is The Lord God, God the Son, and the Lamb of God. Jesus Christ fulfilled all the laws that you and I cannot merit, and became the scapegoat to take on our sins, and you His righteousness (the moment you believe) by dying on the cross for your sins, was buried, and raised 3 days later; seen by over 500 witnesses. He conquered sin and death the moment Jesus rose, and through His resurection, we have the certain hope that we too will rise when He comes back for His church. And since Jesus paid for your wages, perfectly, you can put your trust in Him for your salvation. In a court of law, you cannot escape the penalty due you lest if someone where to bail you out, and Jesus's atonement already paid the wage of death in full; quenching the wrath of God. What must you do to be saved? Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and you will be saved. The way to life is narrow because it's found in Jesus, not in self righteousness. Repent, and place your trust in Jesus, so you can have eternal life!

Hey Corey, what about Ezra 8:21-23? Isn’t that an example of how fasting for the purpose of an answered prayer can work?
Also, Esther 4:16 seems to be another example of the above.
    God bless You.

I’ve gotten in trouble so much with this and still find myself lacking at times. I am at the point now where I feel guilty about even telling anyone I am fasting to prevent seeming boastful.
    I have a question?
Should I center a fast around an off day? Doesn’t that defeat the purpose of operating in a fast, without boasting in front of others? Isn’t like cheating to center it around an off day?
I hope this is not a stupid question. Is fasting more about strengthening the soul by afflicting the body, so we can draw closer to him? I believe I can go to work and still fast, but I desire to be in the right. I get refraining from food, entertainment, etc. Any thoughts?

  • @mcandler_the_unscottish

Is the fast supposed to compel or force God to do what I want because that feels like that is why most of us fast? Seems to me that I cannot fast and go to work as well because my mind is still disengaged. We would say a fast is from 6am-6pm but from 8am -5pm I am busy with work, school run and all the activities, engagements and drama that accompany a normal work day. So all my fast amounts to is just staying away from food (which is what a lot of people believe it ultimately is). When Daniel fasted, even bathing and rubbing lotion was too much of a distraction. Yes life is life and we cannot get away from it especially if you got work and babies at home. I believe one needs to shut out as much of the world as possible on a day/s one can afford to do this without it affecting your work and family life to dedicate that time to not merely speaking to but mostly HEARING from God.

    • @judithmargret5972
      @judithmargret5972 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

I'm not saying you can't fast for this but we are told how to deal with strongholds in 2nd Corinthians 10 4-6. The sword of the Spirit demolishes strongholds. We use God's Word to defeat the lies of the enemy and every thing that sets itself up against the knowledge of God. Also we have to be in continual prayer
We also take every thought captive, means we are to take control over our thoughts
Fasting could accompany this but fasting alone wil not demolish strongholds.

@Mel-ky9zs You can't rebuke your thoughts, you have to take control Biblically.
The best thing is to read your Bible often, memorise verses especially ones pertaining to your situation. Say you're lonely, find what Scripture says about loneliness, write it down, memorise it, quote it often, and it becomes real to you. I will never leave you or forsake you is a good one. Do the same with other problems.
When you begin to know Scripture, and you get thoughts that contradict what it says, the Holy Spirit will bring Scripture to mind for the situation.
My thought life can go downhill really fast, then I meditate on the bad thoughts, and I drift further from the truth and feel terrible.
I need to consciously get my mind back to what Scripture says and meditate on Scripture truths.
It's not easy, the battle is in the mind. Find a daily devotional from a Biblical teacher, not just anyone, and that will give you something to meditate on.
Of course lots of prayer and praise.
What helps me, might not help you in the same way, but I love Jude v24, Romans especially chapter 5 and 8.
Simple things like when Peter kept his eyes on Jesus, he actually walked on water. When he took his eyes off Jesus, he sank.
I could write more, as I'm in the middle of a struggle at the moment, but I don't want to take the whole page.
We are in a war, and as Paul says Phillipians 3 the whole chapter, especially v8-14.
      Blessings.
