WHAT IS FASTING?
Fasting is abstaining from food for spiritual motives. Fasting is not a hunger strike. Also, it’s not a diet.
TYPES OF FASTS
1. Absolute Fast without food or water.
2. Normal Fast. It’s when you don’t eat but only drink water.
3. A Partial Fast, commonly referred to as a Daniel’s Fast, is where you abstain from certain foods.
4. A Non-food Fast is when you abstain from certain pleasant things, activities, entertainment or gratifying pleasures other than food.
5. The last type of fast is a Corporate Fast.
HOW TO FAST
1. The type of fasting you choose is up to you and the Lord.
2. When you fast, your body detoxifies and eliminates toxins from your system.
3. Fasting brings about miraculous results.
4. Make a decision to end the fast slowly.
WHY FASTING
1. Fasting helps us overcome the calamities of life. Fasting is the Biblical way to humble ourselves (Psalm 35v13; 69v10). Esther fasted when faced with danger (Esther 4v16). Ezra fasted for protection (Ezra 8v21-28). Jehoshaphat fasted in the time of the invasion of the Confederate armies of Canaanites and Syrians (2 Chronicles 20v3).
2. Fasting renews our connection with God. Jesus said that His disciples will fast when He is gone (Mark 2v20). When we fast, we get our hunger back for the presence of God.
3. Fasting empowers us to fulfill God’s calling in our life. (Luke 2v37)
4. Fasting helps to defeat the devil. Once, the disciples of Jesus could not cast out a demon. (Matthew 17v21; Isaiah 58v6)

I was making coffee this morning and the Holy Spirit told me to stop and fast for 21 days. Then my friend showed me this! 😱

I had started a fast this morning, and I was frustrated that I broke it earlier this evening.

Exactly. I never get busier and feel worse health-wise than when fasting, and it's harder to find time to pray,,read and meditate. To be fair, I am a live in caregiver for my dad
I have fasted liquid only many times. This time I am doing the Daniel fast because my husband agreed to do it with me. I’m very excited for him joining in this. We are also reading the New Testament together. This is a miracle!!
I can always do liquid only anytime!
It always works how I fast. I tell my husband that I will be fasting and we agree on what specific day should that be. I do not eat or drink anything for 24 hours. I start at 6 PM and finish at 6 PM. I wash my face to wake me up everytime I feel drowsy. While I am awake, I let the wickedness go away from me. I go to the grocery store and buy food. Then I go through the city and give that food to the ones in need. When I get home, I pray and sing for hours, while cooking. While fasting, I wear a head covering at all times. Imagine that I cook and I do not taste what I am cooking. When 6 PM comes, I wait for my husband with food on the table. I pray that my fast is received and then I eat with my husband.

Doing the 28 day fast, & a 4 day corporate with my church within those 28 days. I failed once already, but I'm not giving up...God crucify my flesh, so I can get closer to you, hear you, know you more, and overcome the calamities in life! I have an anointing that I need to fulfill!

I do a partial fast, but I call it a partial fast because I would do a fast no food only water, when needed and I do it either from 5am till 11am or noon (and I will do it for a few days) partial because of the hours no food, only water, and of course, prayer and reading of the word, I don’t do anything else, no tv, no social media! To God be the Glory, he helps me of course, I can’t do this on my own, pray for him to lead you!
Honestly I will start fasting for three days vegetables and no TV just spending time in prayer 🙏🙏🙏 AMEN

I’m kinda new to this and my walk with Jesus Christ. Any advice for a beginnerish on how to abstain from telling people, who can you tell? What else can you drink. Cranberry juice, apple juice? Organic? Lol I apologize I have so many questions it’s exciting, I want Jesus Christ to use me too in a deeper way.
PRAISE GOD!! I pray you receive all you blessing and promises. I have been trying to fast so that I can get closer to Jesus Christ. But I keep running into walls. I currently go about 1-4 days of water/ very little Cranberry juice fasting. How do you keep yourself from telling people when they keep asking why you aren’t eating, is it against the fast to tell them? For example my coworkers. Thank you in advance for your advice.

There an excellent resource for women and fasting called "Fast Like a Girl" that goes into the hormonal complications of fasting for women. The author also has a TH-cam channel and other resources. One of the videos she has posted is "Hair falling out when you fast? Do this" Dr Mindy Pelz.

Start taking vitamins, add protein and healthy fats to your diet.
That’s actually normal. Same thing happened to me last year after a prolonged fast. Your body after such fast is very protein depleted and it specifically targets the hair because hair isn’t as important as muscles or other protein-organs, so your body is very intelligent and it targets things that are not deterimental to your life. So eat protein rich foods. Animal organs are great
It's a little more complex than that. If your hair is falling out, it is shining a light on a previously present issue in your body. It is common because deficiencies and toxins are common, but could also be a symptom of heavy metal build up, thyroid issues, vit. deficiencies, etc. The Dr. Pelz video of hair loss explains very clearly.

My church is focusing on fasting/prayer this month too, and they didn't know about Vlad. I think the Holy Spirit is moving believers to do this. Maybe there's something bad that may or could happen and our prayers can either stop or minimize it.
I haven't fasted in a long time and have never done the 21 days of fasting. I am so excited to partake in this. I have been praying to God about how I need Him in my life. I appreciate that you support alternatives for a fast. For someone like me, living with chronic illness means that if I were to do a food fast that I am endangering my well-being in a significant way. Some religious leaders deny that God recognizes alternative sacrifices in lieu of a food fast. Being encouraged to still sacrifice something that can help deepen my connection to God has me feeling like I don’t have to be on the sidelines just because I live with a rare disease. To be encouraged to pray on what and how to fast, that has never really been offered by any religious leaders that I know encourage fasting. Thank you for helping support everyone’s ability to make a meaningful sacrifice that can build their connection with the Lord. THIS is how to lead, and THIS is how you include others. I will pray that other religious leaders see this, and learn that while it may not be a Biblical fast that there are alternatives for those that are not as healthy to handle a true Biblical fast. John 3:16 did not say, “…for God so loved the world, except for the sick…” it definitely says “the world” which means all of us, even those of us whom are chronically ill. I have never fasted in any form because of this, but thanks to you, I will be praying on this and asking for Jesus to let me know how He wants me to do my fast so that I can honor Him, and connect more deeply with my savior. And my goal would also to be to get to know the Holy Spirit more as well…I’ve ignored him too long.
What is your illness
I have several: hypermobile Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome, dysautonomia (suspected hyperandrenergic Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome), and secondary Raynaud’s. I require 130g of protein daily and electrolytes twice daily among supplements, medications, and maintaining steady blood glucose levels just to stand up without fainting. There is so much more to my illnesses, but that is the abridged reason for my need of an alternative to fasting.

I copied word for word your sermon to meditate on it on my cell phone in a note to myself file‼️ it's encouragement because if I fast for sanctification and Revival I need to ask the Lord to get rid of things that are Unholy and those things that I'm in bondage to like self incrimination......Thx-you Jesus for this encouraging and Powerful preaching‼️‼️Also # 1
