I just finished a 30-day liquid only fast. I actually did the fast correctly and never felt more spiritually free, emotionally and physically lighter, and closer connection with GOD. Thank you LORD for giving me the strength! I had to pray for my family and repent for generations of curses and all, but I was filled with so much humility and adoration for the LORD, it just felt right. And the LORD told me to do it and I obeyed him. I studied the word and really got to dig deeper into the word. I enjoyed every minute of it even though the devil tried to deter me, GOD had me! You can do anything through Christ who strengthens you!! Amen!! 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾

I'm an Orthodox Christian and today is the the first day of our Christmas fasting which ends on 7th January. We also have the Easter fasting for 40 days, the Apostles' fast and a two week- fast dedicated to Mary Mother of God. The Orthodox also fast every Wednesday and Friday because of Jesus betryal and death on the Cross. Fasting is not about depriving yourself from tasty food but it is a means to your spiritual growth and getting close to God and His Son Jesus Christ, doing good and loving and helping your close ones.

Good stuff this and good to know brother. i struggle with fasting. I do 24 hrs and break. It aint good enough i know. This week ahead im gonna do my first 3 days minimum. God deserves it and He commands it.. I need to step it up a gear!!! Thanks for this its really helped!
I don't think your 24hr fast is not good enough. Fasting is not a starvation contest. If God directs you on how long to fast; That is fine. But God is more interested in the sincerity of the act of fasting and the fact that u are actually using the fasting period to truly seek him than that u can boast about going for 7days straight without food or water.
Like I always say pray fast fight and meditate fight your thoughts and feelings I'm always fasting something but not only do I fast 4 Gods will but also apocalypse and souls being saved
