I don't even think these questions are harsh. I think those are precisely the kind of questions that should be asked every single time but they almost never are. Instead we always get curated or brown nosing nonsense from these so called journalists, that you got to wonder if they are journalists or just part of the marketing.
Yeah I don't understand how the majority of asmongold viewers are probably 30 to 50 year old men. Yet they tend to react like children when it comes to almost everything. Bloomberg is mostly a financial publication. These journalists are trying to get mostly information that will allow them to determine how much do the game is selling and how much is going to affect stock.
they are harsh in the context that fluff interviews are the norm so anything that even has a whiff of confrontation over shortcomings in the development is already "harsh".
Totally agree, the frustration about established games journalists apathy or blindness to blatant game flaws is maddening at times. I lost faith when BF 2042 made it past with decent ratings despite being the mess it was. The interviewers above ask a lot of questions these suck up journalist dont dare to ask, lest they get on the publishers bad side for making them fess up to what they are doing.
Good journalists don't tend to get invited to the panals or interviews because of the questions they ask. So if you want to get high profile interviews you have to ask watered down questions to ensure you'll continue getting high profiled interviews. It's a skewed systems and why independent journalism, in all facets, is so important.
Whoever this dude on the right is...get more people like him. Not just in gaming media but in politics. Hard hitting questions are something that this country is sorely lacking in recent years.

"Travelling through space" keeps being said or alluded to even though that's not what happens in Starfield. Todd saying to get a better PC but 2 days after the game's realease to early access there is already an optimisation mod that increase performance significantly

The true problem with discussing games is the echo chambers. People who hate Starfield tend to gravitate toward negative videos about Starfield. People who say it’s game of the year and thinks it’s perfect are going to watch the unrealistic fans of it. Echo chambers are the worst part of any subjective discourse. I think some people are hating on it because it’s cool to and it’s an Xbox only game. I think some people are saying it’s perfect for the same reason. I think it’s a great game. 56 hours in on my series X with no bugs ( so far anyways). I’m not gonna freak out because someone doesn’t like it. I do feel bad for the devs who put their time and care into this game to see videos accusing them of being lazy and not caring. Especially when I see large content creators putting titles in the thumbnail about “this is what Starfield would look like if the devs gave a shit”. Long comment. Sorry. I just would like to see some truly honest discourse around the game. It’s not the worst game ever and it’s not the gods’ gift to gaming.
Before the standard version was out, the game rating on steam was around 86%. As of this moment, it is now at 78%. Bethesda became complacent After Oblivion or even during it. What reenforced this was Skyrim because for a lot of players, it was their first open world Bethesda game. They never played anything that came before so they never played those games that were much more rpg themed than whatever it is now.
Have you never watched a news channel before? There’s always a delay between when the question is finished being asked and when the receiver starts replying.
There’s a delay before questions come through ok live tv. You know this but you’re choosing to believe they’ve somehow been rumbled. That’s your bias influenced by the hate wagon for this game.
Wait Bethesda is in the hot seat for star field breaking PC’s but Activision is unquestioned behind COD and it’s targeting of micro transactions, selling of an incomplete games and extremely toxic lobbies and let’s not forget the sexual harassment allegations.
You can say about Godd Howard whatever you want but the guy is a PR genius. He always finds the perfect slick response to deflect from the actual question, avoid answering by saying generic PR responses and twist bad things in the game into something good. Almost all politicians and many other game studios' PR people can do that too, obviously, but you gotta give Todd credit for staying smooth and staying on top in the interview at all times. Which is why so many people still like him and believe anything he says. His Charisma stat (and deception/persuasion ability) is just that high.
I don't think those questions equate to the game being bad. I'm 80 hours in and I've been having a blast with Starfield. I expected it to be a Bethesda game and that's exactly what we got

@@TheBeastOfAllBeasts2 fun fact: they used the oblivion ai to get todd in the interview he was in a chess competition
Todd is a living meme.
Who'd have thought actual journalists would be better at doing games journalism than games journalists?
Whoever this dude on the right is...get more people like him. Not just in gaming media but in politics. Hard hitting questions are something that this country is sorely lacking in recent years.

I love that people are comparing NMS to Starfield while forgetting the mountain of time between them with the numerous content updates on NMS. There is a near decade difference and remember that NMS started out the same way. Plus there are people that just enjoy Bethesda's exploration aspect more as that is what made them a developer to be known by.
My PC can run everything except for Starfield. Game is horribly optimized and being told to "jUsT uPgRaDe" fills me with spite
Starfield can run on a 10 year old i7 2600k and even a gtx750 ti (with dx work around) with an ssd though.
No ssd? Then you're in last generation
answering good questions gains you respect too i wish journalism was always like this
These are the types of interviews I want to see not softball ones with the access journalism crowd.
this guy asking the question is a legend
Two best journalists I've ever seen in gaming, asking the HARD questions.
😏
So TLDR the interviewer goes . " yea so why does your game suck"
Todd : "yea so the game is so good you need a new PC "
Who knew Bloomberg was the best mainstream video game interviewers. I loved how brutal they were! 😂
I love my 3AM asmon uploads he really knows his audience
timezones exist bro, for half the world its work hours, the fuck you talking about "knows his audience"
Hell yeah brother 😂
He doesn't even manage this TH-cam channel.
Or we really know Asmon's degen hours because we are also degens.😅

LMAO that guy interviewer is the best. He really must have taken a day off to play Starfield and must've been pissed.
I love how the camera angle shots is the same as when you talk to an NPC in a Bethesda game.
You know bro in the glasses played this game and decided to have his vengeance in this interview.
