Years ago I worked for a cartage company and delivered the "Shark Cage" drum hardware to Nick's house in The Valley (Los Angeles) for it's final resting place after years of Megadeth storage. This was after Nick was out of the band for some time. I told him I was a HUGE FAN, and that him and Marty were the BEST THING that ever happened to the band. He couldn't have been more gracious. He gave me a his solo CD, "Life After Deth," signed it and said, "Thanks for being a fan!" His mom also showed up and I got to meet her as well.
That was one of the best days of work in my life!

It's like Marty dislikes metal and tries to separate himself from the rest of the band, in a very good, musically healthy and diverse way. I don't know if it's just me, but his solos sound like they were written as an improvisation over a piano backing track or something of that sort, I don't know how to explain it but Marty just couldn't keep doing metal, he had to do what Chris Poland did, Chris did the jazz fusion thing after leaving Megadeth and I guess Marty went in his desired direction.

When i saw this concert for the first time on a CD player.
I thought its impossible for a band to sound so tight and so clean.
And i thought Dave mustaine was an absolute god.
Not much has deterred me from that thought since then
