Man you drove at night and on the freeway your first day. Kudos on breaking the ice on those nerve wracking things. Looking forward to getting my 400 whenever they get in stock.
Yea was definitely an experience to say the least. No regrets it’s been a blast so far
Thats impressive actually. I am a week into riding, and still find 50mph terrifying. Not to mention I shouldn’t be exceeding 45mph anyway to stay within breakin rpm restrictions.
Also stalled it several times my first two days riding it, would not be safe in traffic, and I’m just starting to feel confident finding the shifter lever for shifts, not use to foot position yet, boots kept getting stuck on the pegs
@@krisswolf2011y'all are giving me courage to get my first bike and just go for it. I keep scaring myself out of it.
@@bushybwoy have it delivered to your home and take your time. Take it easy, dont get pressured to drive on roads you’re not ready for yet.
Just after a week after my last post, 50 feels comfortable now. Accidentally went on the highway once, it feels fine, except still getting used to the wind, it tries to turn my head whenever I’m trying to check the blindspot
@@krisswolf2011 Thanks for the advice, I'll do just that. I want to get the CFMOTO 450SS, price looks good and a great starter bike I can pass down to my son😁
It's always recommended to ride with someone in a car or bike whenever you are first time rider this gives you assurance in the road! Kudos to you mate happy 1 year riding!
Thank you so much it’s been a great year
i come to this video 1 year later, i bought my bike yesterday ( 24 ninja 500) and rode it straight to work.... gotta pay the loan somehow
Im plan on getting the 24 ninja 500 for my first bike. How has it been so far ?
@shaun2318 it's been great, just got it past the 280 mile mark, peppy, big enough for me but not too big as my first bike, no regrets in my decision
@@kennethmiller81 good to hear man enjoy!! What color did you get ?
@@shaun2318 all black
you got one of the new 500s huh? Badass. Is it killer and perfect?
Was excited to see someones first ride as I am about to get back on after 20 years but with the lack of gear, and already torn thin jeans I hope the next post isn't a hospital one. Glad you made it home safely and learned a bit.
This will be next week as I'll get my CBR650 next week! It's got to be a 3-hour drive since the dealer is pretty far from my home. OMG I am getting butterflies just by thinking about it! Not to mention the road's traffic is pretty heavy! I hope I won't stall it too much while I'm at the middle of the road!
Congrats and same bro! Getting my CB650R next week. 2 1/2 hours of highway driving and it's gonna be cooold! Gonna be worth it too.
@@capper6100 right?!?!? Just an update. I brought mine home a week ago. Instead of a normal 3-hour drive, I end up with 5 with all the stops and slooooooow drive. I did stalled it 2 or 3 times while I was still at the dealer's premises for a quick practice and after that. Never stalled it again! Felt realy great!
I am picking up my first motorcycle next weekend and riding it home. Its a 2020 Ninja 650 KRT. I am nervous but excited about riding it home for the first time
@@kunichiyawa1660
@@kunichiyawa1660congrats , so was that your first time riding other than the class ?
@@twinfns I am not new to riding but this is my first time riding a clutched bike! And by the way, I already brought home the bike and stalled a lot of times but thankfully, I always stay at the right side and running slow. Took me 5 hours to get home. HAHA
to any first time riders
having someone follow you or guide you home is chill
do not follow closely if you live anywhere with wildlife
dead animals, debree, when you follow close you will not have as much time to react to these things.
i was riding home from work and a coworker was infront of me, i had a near miss on a dead deer! confident in myself, everything was okay. but respect your skill level and give yourself the must needed cushion of error. as your skill level increases, so will your hand eye, brain reaction speeds. stay safe and ride like a bitch on your first bike home.
Couldn’t have said it better myself.
I'm trying to be you right now!! This feeling I got makes me feel like I gotta pick up a bike and get on the road!
Good job bro, keep it up!
Appreciate it!
I bought my first bike last month and since it had been sitting for a while, I went and picked it up with my trailer. Literally as soon as I pulled out of the driveway it fell over on my trailer because one of my straps suddenly broke. Luckily nothing broke and I just needed to bend the turn signal a bit to make it straight again. But I managed to get it home safely and in one piece. When I got home, and I started to unload it my dad pulled up and was surprised to see I had brought a motorcycle. My dad was ok with it but my mom wasn’t super happy but now she’s ok with it but she gave me some rules to follow which I actually agree with. But I picked up a 07 Suzuki GZ250 and it’s so fun to ride. I really love riding it, it’s not super fast but it makes me happy.
You did an Amazing job proud of you great riding
Thank you so much
About to buy mine
He waving at everybody 😂
yeah it was funny haha
Never be in neutral at a stop...a car approaching from rear can quickly end you. Always be in first ready to move.
I've always heard that but how quick can you respond to that situation? A car is approaching from behind and what point do you change from "he's going to stop" to "he's not going to stop!" by the time you decide the second, there's no way you can pull away quick enough. Not to mention when stopped at a light, I'm sitting upright so no longer inline with my mirrors. :/
@@garavonhoiwkenzoiberdon’t wait to find out, move
Nice bike good job on first ride in the wild lol, remember u are no longer seen by most, expect to get cut off ect... try to be seen , and heard. Make it louder lol
Already done lol
well done
Just got my first bike Today and some how TH-cam thought i wanted to watch someone do way better than me. I guess that is humbling. HAHA
Nice bro. I’m from Lee county also. I plan on riding someday
Nice we should ride sometime
nice!! i just did the same thing a month ago getting my first bike, its a new ninja 650 in the same green. my drive was 2 hours long 🥲
Hella sus first drive 😅 too smooth
I made the dealer drive mine for me to my house 😂 Ain't no way I'm risking dropping it or getting killed on the road after so many years since I got my license
Getting my first bike in 2 weeks and I plan on riding it home from the dealership . 2 of my buddies that ride will be with me and my wife following me in the car. Super stoked can’t wait!!
Hell yea
Ill be getting mine in about a month. I seen the store you bought was lije wait. I know that place drive that road everyday lol
did you end up getting it? how is it man, im getting mine in 3 weeks too!
trying to save up for the ninja 500. cant wait to do this
That should be fun be safe out there
Dope, I just got a Ninja 650 from the same dealer last night! My first bike & first time riding. How are you liking the 400?
I love it man it’s a lot of fun
Sun Sports in Ft Myers? How has the experience there, I'm shopping now.
I would definitely shop around for a better price if you can
I hate sunsports. Refuse to ever go there.
Hey I’m looking for my first motorcycle I’m 6 foot 4 and my options are cbr650r and ninja 650 and r7 and gxsr8r and ninja 400 and r3 what should I get
How long u think it takes to get comfortable on the bike
About a month it two if you ride alot
Just got quoted 6200 otd on a 23 new krt abs model. Not sure if I wanna jump on the deal...
Not bad, if you can afford it buy a used one from Facebook you might want to upgrade.
Hows the 400 treating you man are still like it or wanting to upgrade? I only ask because I plan on getting the ninja 500 for my first bike but everyone says go bigger or I’ll regret it. My opinion is start small so I live to upgrade 😂
It depends, Do you plan on riding north of 100MPH most of the time your on the bike? If not then the 500 will be fine for you. I know people that ride and race the 400s for years and don't get a bigger bike. I jumped on my sons 400 and I was blown away at how quick it really is.
@@johncollins3910 that’s for the advice and no I have no plans on going 100mph lol
After getting my Ducati V4 Panigale I sold the rest of my bikes. Everything else felt too slow and I never really enjoyed the ride on those other bikes.
That’s just what happenes when you upgrade sometimes
Haha fort myers!
i work at the dealership, small world
Bro, you rode for quite a while on the center oil patch on new tires. Hope you've changed riding like that now.
what does this mean?
@@jtactivated The black line down the center of the lane is where cars drip oil, there's less traction than the lighter color parts of the lane where the wheels of cars roll. Bikers are advised to stay out of that oil patch.
@@pbase36 thanks i’ll keep that in mind
Thanks for mentioning. Since then I’ve tried to keep it on the side of the lanes. Great point
the lack of gear is hurting my head, but at least you didnt crash is the main thing. nice
Did u take the msf course? If u did and if u recommend it, where at?
I did take the MSF course, definitely recommend it. I took mine in Lakeland Florida
Was wondering how much downpayment you put on it and monthly payments? Looking into getting this bike myself as a new rider
0 down 190 a month but you can definitely get it lower
@@HorsePowerAddicthow much is your insurance, what kind of coverage, and how old are you if you don’t mind? 18 and getting quoted 130/mo for full coverage for 12 months on the new 500, and i live where you can’t ride 6 months out of the year so ill call it 260/mo 🤣
have you ridden before you bought the 400?
Just for the course
@@HorsePowerAddictyou've inspired me Bro
@@kellytbh7707 Thank you for the advice!!! Stay safe out there.
what is the payment if you dont mind me asking , just a ballpark
Less than 200
i remember my ninja 300 looked okay but what a junker.
How was it?
Was you nervous?
I was but it became easier
