    Wow, costs are massive. However, Thank you for your honesty. Elnick Adventures are doing the lap and just recently revealed approx $60k p.a, and that's conservative as they free camp the majority of he time. So, if you include in your budget insurances, registration etc, it may be a bit higher??? Either way it's awesome you share this as people need to know how much it will cost in truth, rather than guessing "we may spend', or "it may cost". We did a trip recently for a week getaway (on Fraser Island) all my accom, fuel, etc was pretty spot on, however, once on the Island we did way more 4Wd exploring which the fuel had to be purchased on the Island at 1.5 times normal price. So what I budgeted for, a short trip (2 weeks way), was $3k. By the time we got home it was $6k. Lesson Learned. Cheers guy's and safe travels. Note - But we did have a couple of days on the Gold Coast upon return which added on an extra $1.5k within the $6k.

      Thanks for watching! Yes, There are always unexpected costs people don’t realise. Elnicks spending is a lot less than ours but they do spend most of their time free camping and not driving very far. I think the difference is, we are doing a lap within a year so have to move quick and they have no end date and are taking it very slow. I don’t think you can base a budget off one month either, each month can be so different.

    Thanks for your brutally honest analysis. Being on such a strict budget isn’t my idea of a holiday/fun. But, at least you can say you’ve done it!

    • @chasinganadventure
      @chasinganadventure  10 วันที่ผ่านมา

      We still have fun don’t get us wrong, travelling full time and having a holiday is very different. When use to “holiday” we never ever had a budget, but doing this full time with out an income we have to have some sort of budget.

    Thanks for your honesty guys, it really helps our own trip planning. I’m sure in the years to come when you look back you will have no regrets, even if it takes some extra hard work when you get back home to ‘catch up’ financially. Money can’t buy the time and experiences shared together and memories made ❤

    We couldn’t agree more!! Travel life was AMAZING!! But home life is so nice to be back. We saw so much of Aus and still have NT & North WA to see but were home and we have a plan to go on a 3-6 month holiday to do those ones over time.
    Can we just say being your friends from home, you are so genuine and definitely vouch for this being you and nothing else.
    Also can vouch for travelling not being cheap! We spent $120k in 13 months. Also from Geraldton to Brisbane it took us 4.5 days and $4,200 which was only fuel as we free camped the whole way!
    Keep the videos coming we love watching you all and miss you all ❤️

We have traveled on and off for around 22 years from tents to camper trailer and now a luxury caravan. We love it and would even consider going back to a house and normal life.
