Sammy and Michael Anthony, I just want to say that when Edward Van Halen passed away I was shocked and so saddened to the point my coworkers were saying “just go home, we got you” and when ya did the moment of silence it was so perfect and so special. And seeing you guys doing that was/is such a blessing. While we’re all here on Earth please continue being Sammy and Michael, it means so much to so many.
Around 1992-93 I was at a bar called the Marquee in Westminster CA having lunch. There was a guy sitting at the table next to us, and I swore I knew him from somewhere, but I couldn't remember his name, so I said nothing, to avoid him knowing mine name and feeling foolish for not knowing his. Well, I did know him, but not personally. Anyway, 10 minutes later, I see him on stage with the house band. And they start playing a Van Halen song... I said, Ahh, shit! That's Michael Anthony! I frikkin knew it was somebody I knew, but I was way off searching my memory from where I knew him from. He had a big smile and played as if it was Van Halen on stage with him. What a guy. That was a great memory, thanks, Mike.
I love all of the Van Halen records with that 1 always bothered me in the sense that Mike is buried. That's pretty much the And Justice for All treatment to Michael Anthony. Absolutely 0 bass guitar. Yes it's sort of there but nothing like the mix on fair warning...or F.U.C.K. Also keep in mind that in 1984 Michael Anthony had to sign a contract making him a paid member of the band and no longer received any royalties on any recording. The other 3 members had decided in 1984 that Michael's contributions were 0 to minimal so therefore he did not get any royalties from the album 1984 onward.

No : VH wasn’t Eddie solo band. It was four giants on stage. And Mike is a fierce performer on stage-and on record. Both 5150 and ou812 need a proper remaster.
These two are the most down to earth guys in rock-but they are "giants" on stage, man. That bass thumping, those soulful vocals tearing through the hall-you didn't even need drums or guitars that summer night in Chicago back in 2004. And they each look 30 years younger than they are.--- Each time I hear Sammy and Mike talk, it just puts a smile on my face.
They should have a tribute concert where every song has a different celebrity guitar player who counts EVH as one of his greatest influences! Just let them tear it up! Thanks for all the music guys!
I have been a huge Van Halen and Extreme fan for most of my life so when Garry joined Van Halen I could understand why he might be a natural fit after all the years of playing with Nuno Bettancourt. Nuno's style of playing is alot like Eddie's. Although I'm also a huge Sammy Hagar fan so I really thought they should have kept Sammy in the band. Sammy is the best singer they ever had. I like Dave too but Sammy has the better voice because of his range. The guy is in his 70s and still can sing his ass off! I was heartbroken like everyone else when Eddie passed away because without him there can be no more Van Halen sadly. Thank god for all the amazing music he and the band have given all of us. R.I.P. Eddie!
Mikey rocks man, he is a very nice humble guy, RIP Ed. VH4, Sammy vocals, Mikey on bass, Alex on drums & Wolfie steps in for his dad ( makes sense ) on guitar. Get Gary Cherone to make a guest appearance, not worried about Dave, his voice is shot, maybe he can play tambourine.
I got to meet Rodger Daltrey and John Entwistle in 1973 when I was 13 years old at Fresh Pond Reservoir in Cambridge Massachusetts hung out with them for about two hours just shootin the s*** it was f****** cool one of the highlights of my life me and my buddy Carrie were walking around Fresh Pond something I did a lot growing up cuz it was right down the street from my house which is a reservoir with people go and they jog around it and they ride their bicycles and John and Rodger had brand new 12 gear 10-speed bikes and we had never seen those before with 12 gears so we were very intrigued and went over to look at the bikes and the two guys that own them come walking out from under the big old willow tree that sits at one end of little fresh that willow tree is still there and by now it's got to be huge little fresh is a smaller pond in the Belmont Golf Course which is right there beside the big pond it's sort of a overflow Pond for the big Reservoir and it was pretty neat I think Rodger would probably remember me if I asked him because I have damage to my left eye I got hit in the eye with a bridge when I was 10 so I have a scar left eye and he asked me about that he told me about his brand new baby girl and told me they owned a house in Belmont Massachusetts which was also cool it was a long time ago I don't remember a lot more of the details that was about it that I remember now but that was one of the coolest days I've ever had

No live sports or music events can plan for a brighter future, because nobody wants to be the first to open up and stop the greatest forced transfer of wealth (not to mention opportunity) from the lower and middle classes to the oligarchy that has ever occurred in human history.
