Never took me that long because Chrous is the very first Erasure song i heard when my brother had the album on CD and used to play it to death on his portable Stereo. It was the sounds that i was fascinated by.
And the environmental message continues to get more valid every year. (Unfortunately.) When this came out i was in uni. Now i’m over 50. But it still sounds fresh and relevant. And, beautiful of course.
would you, if you have time/inclination be able to recommend any lesser known awesome Erasure tracks ? I'm a fan, but, to my discredit, only know the hits really.... :(
The best duo ever! Not afraid to be different and in every video they bring us such a treat. The hair raising amazing voice that is Andy Bell and genius Vince Clarke. This is such a masterpiece like others say on here. Turn it up loud 🎶🎶
my dad used to play this to me when I was about 4. Listening to it now I can see that it's played a massive part in shaping my musical taste as an adult. It's put together really well.
You find a lot erasure tunes on pop 20 by erasure n what Aswome tunes they have from parst to present classics . Best duo fro making music ever in my eyes and opinion
Been listening since the 80's. Erasure was way ahead of its time, way under appreciated but always remind me of my favorite times before aids, before internet crime, before MTV quit playing music, before the san fransisco earthquake, before enron, before the avian flu before 9-11, before the oct 1st Massacre in Las Vegas, before Corona virus and because of that Erasure will always have a special place in my heart and remind me of better times❤💜.
I watched parts of this video being filmed at Burling Gap on the south coast of England... It was a chance discovery by me, but such an incredibly memorable day as I got to talk to Vince & many of the crew... great memories!
Decades later and im still like, what does it all mean... No matter, to me anyway. When i sense a sound that makes me stop everything, i have to absorb as much of it as i can. If it catches my attention, I'm a fan for life. Music transcends boundaries, moods, and is food for the soul.
It was out in around 1991. I had just come out of the closet in college in Las Cruces, New Mexico. This song really WAS ahead of it's time because it got minimal play on American radio stations. They played it for maybe three weeks and then it dissappeared, along with the band. I think the public did could not identify it as pop, or techno, or snappy dance music. Rave music was just barely coming into the underground. Or maybe Andy was just too gay. There was no place for Erasure, at least here in the United States arena. I almost feel that, besides The Innocents, ALL of Erasure's records are full-fledged cult albums.
The Chorus album is different from any other Erasure album. He went back to using Analog synths and CV Gate because the timing was tighter than MIDI. He programmed every song one note at a time. The results speak for themselves.
Back in the day, I had a massive crush on Erasure and especially Andy Bell during my teens in the 80’s - and Andy is still as gorgeous and handsome looking as ever 😍😍😍😍😍
When this first played on the radio especially when the intro started I couldnt believe what I was hearing. There was nothing like it at the time. A fan since.
The very computeresque, spacy sounds most prominent in the beginning is one of the two elements that puts this above many others songs. The other one is Andy Bell's more harmonic singing towards the end, the one involving the line "a dawn chorus".
Never liked erasure that much when I was growing up, only now can I appreciate how good they were and still are, some of their tracks are incredible ❤️
Wow I love it when the TH-cam algorithm suggests a song, I click on it and I remember hearing it and loving it in the past! Which then reminds me of pleasant memories when life was good
Vince Clarke is flexing his synth God status all over this album. Chorus is so beautiful to hear. My favorite album of Erasure. Andy is a beautiful talented soul.
Vince was one of the reasons why i started Synth programming (Yazoo) Days. Chorus was something Freaky..that Siren Intro has taken EDM to the Future.....
This reminds me of the fall of my Freshman year of highschool! (1991)... I hadn't heard this song in DECADES, until, maybe a year or two ago, I was watching (or rather *listening)* to one of my favorite TH-cam channels on the way to work, and the content creator just happened to play this song at the end of one of his videos, and I had to pull over and get the name of the song in who it was by, because I forgot, but they used to play this track on "B96" (96.3 in Chicago), and I always thought the name of the song was "Fishes in the Sea" simply because people would always call "Eddie & Joe Bo" and request the "Fishes in the Sea" song, so that is what it was known as by those of us not familiar with Erasure. But, boy does this bring back memories! Funny thing is, that I mostly listened to metal, and some hip-hop and Country Western! Not to mention classical piano and such, as my mother and one of my sisters are extremely talented piano players (as I once was... I can read music, but learned how to "play by ear" which drove my sister crazy, despite the fact she can play way better than me, but she read music, and could not play by ear, likei myself). Growing up in Chicago I had many different friends with many different musical tastes so I listened to every type of music one could imagine; old-school house, classic rock, rap/hip hop, R&B, Classic Country, Metal...hell even some of the old polka music my Polish uncles listened to! My Mom Even played accordion, in the late 50's - early 60's... and she actually gave me her old accordion (still in MINT CONDITION!), So in addition to guitar, bass guitar, saxophone, piano, and self-taught accordion, (and those cheap plastic recortar/"flute"- type things we played in grade school music class), I have a diverse range of musical instruments to play ...though my parents had to sell my saxophone a long time ago for financial reasons, and I don't own an *actual* piano, I sort-of "inherited" my sister's (very expensive) electric piano/synthesizer of many instruments, when she moved out West, and although I have "clumsy fingers" from not playing in 20+ years, I'm amazed at what I *can play,* off the top of my head (though I need some major practice)! Anyway, I love and appreciate GOOD MUSIC, regardless of genre... The genre I choose to listen to, at any given time, it just depends on my mood!
Back in the 80's I loved Erasure. I missed a lot of songs from the 90's, too busy travelling. But I have just heard this for the 1st time ! What a True, Amazing, Sad song. 💙💛💚 Erasure Forever 💙💛💚 xxx
I was listen too Erasure back in the 80s , but i had forgot that until i find them on TH-cam, then i remember.Bring back good memories , and Andy Bell got a great voice.
A very happy 61st birthday Vincent John Martin (Vince Clarke) 3 July 1960. Originally a violinist but thankfully, switched to keyboards.. Many more John Vincent..

Never took me that long because Chrous is the very first Erasure song i heard when my brother had the album on CD and used to play it to death on his portable Stereo. It was the sounds that i was fascinated by.

Chorus is the ten best punk-rock music of universe !
Sometimes it just seems random bad luck that a song doesn’t become a great hit.
One of the most incredible songs of the group
Masterpiece of modern music
Certainly is.
Andy was my high school crush. Here we are 30 years later.. the music is still meaningful, and he's still as beautiful.
are you man or woman? because he is gay
@@awaken77 None of your damn business.

A perfect match, Vince has some history. Depeche mode, Yazoo and Erasure. A true trailblazer in his time

I miss this era of music (and my life), so much it hurts 😢
The music's still here....
This is, in my humble opinion, the best track off of the best Erasure album.
It really IS a delight. It has a lot of individually great pieces going on at once, i think. Really cool.
Too many to choose from. So many great tunes :)
would you, if you have time/inclination be able to recommend any lesser known awesome Erasure tracks ? I'm a fan, but, to my discredit, only know the hits really.... :(
listened to "wild" album? I was hooked on that at 7 or 8 years old loved them ever since
Breathe is really good but I find all their stuff fantastic.
Perfect song for the solar eclipse, today. Love from OHIO

I am a time traveler from the year 2021 and I can ensure you that humans still celebrate this song!

It's amazing how much tech was needed to make this music, compared to the present.
This is a monster! Way ahead of its time! I’m sure there were plenty of electronic music genres that took inspiration from Vince Clarke!
They were some band. This is a belter.
It was out in around 1991. I had just come out of the closet in college in Las Cruces, New Mexico. This song really WAS ahead of it's time because it got minimal play on American radio stations. Most of them took inspiration from Vince 😉

Not ahead of its time at all. Pop music was simply better back then.
Vince and Andy couple of legends
