I never thought I would say this but “they don’t make them like this anymore! “But they truly don’t. I have supported erasure from the get go and nobody has ever come along to replace them for me personally. They have such intelligence in their lyrics beyond anything that comes out today. Their songs are so beautifully put together. Clarke and Bell what a beautiful combination, sending shivers up and down my spine! Long may Erasure reign, they are still selling out concerts and making new music to this day. Vince may have worked with other artists But I think it is fair to say that after 35 years I think probably Andy Bell was the most successful! Thank you for the love and the memories Erasure you will always be in my heart. 🥰
I do believe the young folks of today would call this a - ahem - banger! In my old fart, 51yr old vernacular I would just say it is perfect pop music. Vince Clarke can really fecking wring a tune out of those 80s/90s synthesizers!!!
I think Vince Clark was the George Martin if the 80s except he performed all his own arrangements and we very much have music technology to thank for this, and I am so grateful! He’s really quite irreplaceable and although I will name Howard Jones and maybe Danny Elfman as contemporaries, I don’t think there’s another artist who truly blended art, arrangements, composition and style the way Vince could. And the choices to work with Alison and then Andy were inspired and sublime. There’s really no one since who has matched this. There are ppl who will do music from top to bottom, and it’s impressive, but it doesn’t have what Vince had. So much of what goes into music is the time it was created in, the technology, the innovation, the life experience, the current events, and ofc that individual’s knowledge and artistry - I don’t think all of these things could really exist in someone else. And this is probably why The Killers stole that Erasure song, bc they cannot write it on their own ;)
You really described it with the perception I wanted to express .. this song is powerful, intense, spoken in a ways that makes you reclaim the power of yours own self .. anyways cheers

Just bought erasure, wild for me technics 1210s. I can play these tunes over and over again and they never make me or many of us tired of hearing them . I had the tape as a child and now I have the vinyl, just bought erasure wild on cd for me mam and sister too. We all love them and will never forget them and they remind us all of our younger days when music was made properly and put together properly. Erasure are totally excellent and I will never stop loving them. Mass respect to the erasure crew, both band members and erasure fans. RESPECT to each and every one of you
In our home, my father had a Boombox Technics SA-C09S (by the way, a magnificent equipment for it's size) and my brother and i, we had the tape of Wild! (and still i have it) and remember when we heard it, it was amazing, it was the first album of Erasure that we hear.
This is the song that made me a devoted Erasure fan. So unique, so extravagant, so insanely energetic, so inspiring and inspirational, so crazily operatic, so powerful, so.... wonderfully DRAMATIC! I am 50 and I still love you like when I was 20 V and A!
I heard this song RECENTLY, and I KNEW it was Obviously written/released in the 1980's, but, I could NOT recognize it as a song I'd known from my childhood. So I pull it up on TH-cam, played it like 4 times through, and FINALLY, it clicked in my head... ... ... And BAM, There it is... "God Only Knows" how many times my Mom and I jammed out to this Masterpiece! What a GREAT song!!!!! Love it, love you guys "Erasure"!!!!!!!!!!!!
As a 14-year-old boy in his bedroom in suburban Buffalo, New York, USA, this song (on a Toronto "alternative" radio station) spelled out everything for me the first morning that I heard it before school. It was the future; it was fun; it was out-of-this-world goofy with its electronic bleeps and bloops, and it made me so, so happy. Just yesterday, I bought from a second-hand site the stereo that I had when I first heard this song. My first album in about 26 years? "Wild" by Erasure.
Absolute genius. Erasure brought us some of the most sublime pop music from the mid eighties and right into the early nineties . Great to hear these classic tracks again .
I remember being in prison in 92 and I escaped or ran off (it was an open prison) from Drake Hall to go to an Erasure Concert... Fantastic. Well worth the extra 28 days lol
This song is absolute quality. One of Vince's best efforts in my opinion with great lyrics and a crunching synth. He totally nailed it with this one. Top marks
Some people need to listen to the lyrics in this song, the look in Vinces face, how the word GUILTY is shouted out, Andy puts alot of emotion in the vocals, your shame is never ending, the bitterness in those lyrics is really felt, I feel it to some people who wronged me
Hacia tantos años que no veía este video que no recordaba que había un gatito… que belleza. Tremenda canción, buen video..Andy y Vince son los mejores. Celebrando hoy 34 años de Wild..!!!🎉👏👏👏💖💖💖🥰🥰

Vince Clarke is so underrated. 3 successful bands...beat that! My favourite music is rock (Kiss, Iron Maiden etc.) but a good song will always be a good song. If it makes you feel something, dance, tap your feet then it works for me😊👍

Best times ever!! 1980’s and 90’s dancing all night and opening the door of the club to go home and the sun coming up! Some of us had to go to our corporate jobs in 3 hours 🤣🤣🤣 Being young was THE BEST! And we knew it too. My mom always said “at least you appreciate it while you’re in it 😊. A lot of people don’t realize how great it is”. We really did. Now we’re old. It sucks.

True Dat!
Last day of August 2024 and it’s fucking fucking awesome
Vince a legit genius from day one.
Yes, Vince is amazing! It doesn't take much to make electronic music, but real musicians (like Vince) take it to a whole new level.
LOVE THIS SO MUCH

To listen to a song for 28 years and never get bored of it... Now is that a masterpiece or what?

Just found this song at the age of 40 and can't stop listening. Absolutely brilliant.
40 odd best hits Andy and Vince keep delivering hits.
Jesus and Mary Chain providing the "GUILTY" voices.
Wow! Never knew that. Cheers!

Never knew that either.
It's got that early J.A.M.C vibe to it, hasn't it?
One of the best

Saw Erasure, on their Wild! Tour, at the King's Hall in Belfast in January 1990. This was their first encore song.

Saw them that Tour as well, Stockholm autumn 1989. Awesome😎

Probably some Katy Perry's fans
Alison moyet fans 😅

Some of the most pointant lyrics I've ever heard ❤❤❤❤❤
I haven't listened to these guys since I was in college back in the 80's. Brings back a lot of fond memories of being young and having fun.
This song was in their setlist last Saturday, August 4, 2018, in Houston. The crowd roared and in unison chanted, "GUILTY"! What a rush!!
Was it the low or high pitched "GUILTY"!...?
We've seen them in january last year in Hamburg an it was unbelievable!!! I loved them with 13 and now Im 47!!! They are still so wonderful!
Thank you. This is one of the most important songs of my life.
has to be one of their best songs
absolutly agree.
