The Prelude was the model Honda used to showcase new technology (4ws, 4w abs, 4w double wish bone suspension, thrust vectoring, integrated antennae etc). Often overlooked due to no turbo, front wheel drive and only a 4 cylinder. However, for any other manufacturer at the time (and future) this would have been the top of the range model and not affordable. I believe the NSX became the successor of the Prelude show casing newest tech but now costing tens of thousands more.
Believe it or not, i once owned a '90 Prelude SI 4WS in the same color except mine had the stock white painted alloys. Loved the car even though i had several issues with it..sunroof sticking, power windows failing (a nightmare to fix thanks to the gawdaful automatic seatbeats integrated into the doors) and the 4WS system getting out of whack and causing some odd rear end behavior at certain speeds. Even with all that, this was the best looking generation of Lude, and i regret selling it about 12 years ago now..
same, mine just have the normal seats though. when i took the car for a test drive i nearly over steered it into the curb because I wasn't expecting to feel it so much hahaha

NSX was a sensational supercar when it was introduced in 1990, and it remains one of the most sophisticated sports car designs around. The 12-year-old styling is dated but still spectacular; NSX is still unknown and therefore striking to people. That was from an article, 3rd gen prelude was the first Honda with a pointy style front and low apperance in 1988 then the NSX was introduced in 1990, notice the fronts on the early models of both cars!! Also ever seen the inside of one? looks like a designer 3rd gen interior, even on the 2004 model it still looks similar, look at the vents and the one on the door next to the side mirror, even the ash tray.. and the clock was just moved forward to the vents. The NSX front dives down more due to no engine in front and the back slopes down sooner because of no back seat and the engine in the trunk. Any one else see the similarities :?: for the price of our ludes I think we got similar style for pennies.

I've owned 3 Preludes. '85 '89 and '93. H22A made the lude a rocket. Best stock honda out there.

They tell us the closest thing to this now is actually a 2020 honda civic SI. Not really in my opinion. The prelude was an up market sport coupe.
