  • If mosquitoes disturb your sleep at night, look at this video and learn how to make a Mosquito Insect Killer Machine at home.
    No need to hold a mosquito swatter racket and run behind a mosquito, simply convert mosquito swatter racket to an electronic mosquito insect killer (an amazing DIY homemade gadget) that can be used to trap mosquitoes.

    I've had this idea and tried it years ago. I'll save you the trouble - it doesn't work because the racket's circuitry isn't designed for prolonged run time. The transistor eventually gets overheated and burns within 10-20 minutes. If you don't believe me, take one of these rackets and use something to hold the button pressed for that long and you'll see the circuit will die.
    It would be interesting to see someone with good understanding of electronics show us how to modify the circuit so that it can run constantly without limit.

      You are right. I have experienced the same issue, they weren’t designed for prolonged run time.

      You could fix that by implementing a timer circuit so it turns off after let's say five minutes and after let'say one minute it turns on again. I think that could be the solution.

      @@alexisxyz7531 yeah, this is a good idea. I will try it.

      @@eduardoasta Hope it work for you.
      You can use an external timer to cooect and disconect all the circuit or you could make a timer from a LM555 basic circuit plus a MOSFET to do the thing.

      I know it's late, but I tried to take apart almost the same generic swatter and found out the battery is some type of lead-acid batt, but smaller. I assume its charger is different from those for Li-Ion type batteries will not charge it to its full potential. I don't know. Just a theory. :)

      "presentation board" is probably what it is, you can find it in office supplies. For a sturdier construction, I would suggest something like "MDF" medium density fiberboard. It's heavier than presentation board, though.
      🌺🌺🌺A good FREE source of presentation board is signs that people put up, ILLEGALLY, that advertise they buy mobile homes, or whatever. Depending on the city, most municipalities have rules about where and how to post signs. But people still do it anyway, because they know people will see the phone number and call. BUT, at least in the city I live in, pulling up those signs and taking them home is not theft, because they are considered abandoned trash, even the metal frame or wooden stakes! SO. There is your FREE source of that thick plastic stuff!
      My dad has a whole bunch of those signs. That material comes in handy. I use one of them for outdoor arts and crafts, so I don't get paint all over the table
      xxx okay delete what I just said. I watched the video again, and that's not presentation board (although, pulling up those signs is still a great idea! check your local municipality's rules)
      What he is using more closely resembles the stuff they use to make inner tubes with bottoms, for when you want to go tubing on the river. But that stuff is thicker. So idk. Show this video to the person at Home Depot, I'm sure they can help you out
      ✨✨✨ While you're at Home Depot, another useful material is wall board, used in showers. The shiny side makes a good dry erase surface. The workers at Home Depot can cut it small enough to fit in your car and take home. Before you leave the store, grab yourself a "Sawzall" and a circular saw and you're gtg!

    These kinds of zapper are dirt cheap, but are not made for long term use. A better idea is to get a transformer and use the mesh that these come with or you can up the power of these with a larger cap and you need a heat sink for the transistor.
    You can also put a timer on it so that you don't burn it out.
    Bug zappers work, they are really pretty simple, but this transistor is not designed for long term use. Too bad because these are cheap.

      What is the issue Sir?

    • @goodtech1
      @goodtech1  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      There must be a problem with the polarity of the adapter. Make sure that the polarity of the circuit is correct.

    • @hantamsaja5422
      @hantamsaja5422 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      no ! the converter in tazzer racket cant get enough current (A) from 5v adapter because most 5v charger adapter only have current rating 1A - 2A only, while the Li-ion battery have approx max current until 40A.

    • @prashanth105
      @prashanth105 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I suspect that's not the main issue. That circuit is expecting a lower voltage between 3-4.2v max and is clearly upset at the higher voltage (usually 5.6v) that the mobile chargers usually put out. My advice is if you still prefer to use a charger without a battery connected to it (I clearly don't know why) which actually is the best option, then assuming that the said charger is able to deliver the asking current@least 5 or more amps(This is important as many chargers may just not be up to it), then you should take the precaution of feeding it through atleast one or two common silicon diodes to be wired in series in the proper polarity (there is a white band on the kathode) any part number like 1N 4001/2 etc onwards. This drops the incoming voltage in precise levels of usually .6v each so the two of them should give a voltage drop of around 1.2v that the circuit is expecting, and also preferably fix a capacitor of reasonable capacitance like 1000mfd onwards till about 2,200uf(mfd) of any working voltage greater than 6v to about 25v. This should keep the whole thing in proper running condition. BTW do try to use a battery though, and if you are having difficulty locating that 18650 LiOn cell you can try the tiny lead acid double cell tiny batteries that can be found in emergency lights. Another better option is to locate a mobile battery having a capacity of atleast >1500mA or more (The terminals on these batteries are pretty touchy and flimsy. Soldering wires onto these terminals requires considerable soldering knowledge and dexterity to execute a quick, clean and perfect job. Don't do it if you don't have the acumen for it and you're better off getting the job done by your friendly neighborhood mechanic.... Happy building and have a nice day....

    • @goodtech1
      @goodtech1  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      A Li-ion battery does not die very soon. However, i have also connected a TP4056 charging module, so the battery can be recharged easily. Also, if the battery becomes completely useless, then the device can also be operated using a 5v mobile charger.

      Sirjee then lithium ko 18650 kehte hain. Aur ye to Mamuli item hai aur issey koi bhi electronic spare parts ki dukaan mein paya jaa sakta hai. Yeh 3.5v(khali ya khatam) se 4.2v (full charged) aata hai. Yeh nahi mila to aapko emergency light ki (choti si) lead acid battery bhi istimaal kar sakte ho. Aur ek option hai. Aap Ko mobile ki battery (>1500mA) bhi Laga Saket hai. Yeh Saab wahi kaam usi tarike se kar sakti hai..Umeed karta hoon ki aapko yeh nuska khafi maddat aayega...

    Better not seal it as a box just mix something to create CO2 in a bow or bottle and cover them .

    Without the benefit of research and just relying on Common Sense.
    One could just go out and buy a bug zapper instead.
