Hi - I have some of the malm dressers and I want to replace the drawer glides with longer extension ball bearing drawer glides that allow the drawers to go all the way out. Could you make a video for this? Especially curious of what hardware would work.

Hi Jack D, that's an interesting thought. I don't have a Malm dresser to try this on, but I'll try and find a free one! I suspect that new runners may be too wide to fit unless one removes the drawer sides to make the drawer narrower. I give it some thought.

Hi John, thanks for this video!
We're a young couple with a short budget and we were thinking about building our own 'built-in' wardrobe. The idea is using 2 MALMs chest of drawers at the bottom and build around it. Do you think is doable? Any tips?
    Thank you in advance!

Hi Gemma, thank you and pleased you like it. I hope it gives you ideas. I think building around 2 chest of drawers is a great idea. Make sure the chest of drawers are perfectly square! Glue and screw the back panels on and maybe a diagonal brace for good measure. You could use 12mm MDF and paint it. See my video about painting MDF and also the child's wardrobe I built. You could just build the wardrobe to sit on the top of the MALM, have the sides line up with the sides of the chest of drawers. This will transfer the weight down through the sides and save materials as you won't have such tall sides. Hope you understand that? You might want to practice joining 2 pieces of MDF together as it can split easily. You can use long thin plasterboard screws. They are black with a Bugle head that's thin and from memory will pull into the surface of a board. I've used them successfully in the past. 50mm long. You may need to drill a pilot hole but experiment as you may not need a pilot hole with these screws. Fill the heads before painting. I think it's doable just take your time. Good luck.
