- In this video, I am building a kitchen island /a kitchen cart on wheels from an Ikea Kallax shelving units. Ikea Kallax hacks are perfect for creative transformations! They are also perfect space savers and perfect decorations for your kitchen. I have a rustic, industrial and modern concept mixed kitchen design and this kitchen cart just fit perfectly to the concept. I couldn't be more happier with the result. I have created tons of storage space as well as a countertop space in my kitchen with in a low budget! This project cost me only $172.

Ms. Tuba!!! You are indeed an "Inspiration 🎉!" LADY POWER IS EVERYTHING!!!!
I was looking for the IKEA items people used to build a cheap island. Just a suggestion, I'm 2 minutes into your video, saw you struggling, you could get a 2x4, cut a small piece the size of your casters and glue it to the bottom as a solid base to attach your casters. That way it will be secure, cost-effective too. :)
That's a good idea! But in my case I did not want my island to be higher than it is since it had to go under my kitchen countertop! But thank you for the tip👍
@@WadaGoodIdea Oh, that makes sense. I'm just going to put mine in a corner, so I'm less worried about the height. Did you find the casters wobbly at all? I am also planning to start with a kallax and maybe add a drop-leaf if I can find some decent brackets.
