Looked up how a Polaroid Camera worked, clicked on this simple 2 minute video and was not disappointed. Simple and elegant explanation. So awesome. Thank you!
I will never forget these things. I thought that they were the best thing since sliced bread. (Exhaling Heavily) boy O boy time is flying, I mean really flying. I’m 47 now, & I think I’m going to buy one of these & show my grandchildren how we used to take pics way back when, I’m sure it’ll amaze them. God Bless, & God Keep whoever reads this. +Jay Azarcon I watched this. th-cam.com/video/KKCX4v8ug7Q/w-d-xo.html as someone who doesn't play a lot of video games I am putting the pieces of my mind back together.
Great video. Thank you! I have had the series 1000 rainbow since the 1970s however I have just started using it again, but, the film is not as good as the original as I can't even remember ever taking a bad photo with it.
I really LOVE this video! I work for a institution for the promotion of science and I was wondering if we could borrow this video for a pair of tweets on the anniversary of the Polaroid and, of course, mention you as the owner of the video :)
you should use Polaroid film when referring to Polaroid (and not Fuji instax). I feel a lot of people refer to all instant film as "Polaroids" when this is just a brand name. Helpful video though!
Thank you for this video! Someone just gave my son a polaroid camera at a garage sale and I wasn't sure how to answer the question, "what is film?" So you did!
They now have the cannon Zink Ivy camera. Works differently however it electronically projects the image onto a heat roller, as the 3 layered ink card goes through the roller pad on the variable heated strip the photo image is produced on the cars
I have a question for you! My 1000 polaroid, old, doesn't work..I found a spring inside, when i opened the camera , at the bottom. A tiny one . Where exactly i have to put it back? This is not its correct place down
Hello there, thank you for the helpful video. Is there a way to develop and fix a Polaroid without using a camera. Can I use my own diy roller or is it very finnicky about the chemical spreading
The rollers are really finicky. I would savage them from a camera if you plan on exposing the chemicals. They didn’t have a lot of wiggle room and even buildup on rollovers would result in uneven exposure.
can somebody PLEASE tell me what that black plastic filmsy sheet is in the roller part of the camera body!? i keep having cameras malfunction due to this thing but i cant figure out what that thing is called so i can research into it.
It’s actually called a frog tongue, no joke. If it is blocking the film from ejecting I would just tape it out of the way. The only downside of this is the negative may have more light exposed to it. Impossible film is kinda tricky with this but it’s something to try.
I like how polaroids used to be "instant gratification" and basically all they were was a crappy "instant camera," but now they're "isntant permanence" because not many people develop photos anymore.
Fuji Film is not polaroid! Interestingly Kodak came up with an Instant Camera in 1976 called Kodak's EK and Kodamatic which worked without mirrors but Polaroid bought a law suit which mean Kodak had to stop making these cameras and film. I remember working in a camera shop at the time and we allowed anyone who had bought a Kodak Instant Camera to return it to us and we'd swap it for a Polaroid.
I remember using a poloroid back in the 80s, and shaking the film made it develop faster. I assume the increased air/oxygen hastened the interaction of chemicals. P.s. right now I'm reading the book "A Triumph of Genius" about the man who invented the Poloroid. Very interesting read.
+Eden Keeping Good question, "The P80 and P100 are 6V at 250ma-hr and Zinc-Manganese dioxide. The P500 are 6V at 1400ma-hr and Lithium-Manganese dioxide." from here bit.ly/1QdQh57
Shawnee Union - haha. That is what I thought. Note : one important difference I think is that instax photos are exposed from the back. That side faces the lens. The Polaroid picture is facing upwards and gets exposed via the front. Another difference: As you point out in the video, Polaroids get exposed by the light that gets reflected via the mirror. There are no mirrors in Instax cameras. Inspiration for your next animation (?)

These instant cameras were invented becouse Edwin Land's daughter asked him why she couldn't see the photos he took right way.
I was so pleased to see a HIGH-QUALITY video explaining this process. Very well explained as well. Thanks, Shawnee Union!
You’re welcome! Thanks for the comment.
cool how you used animation to teach.
+helium73 thanks man!
It's stop motion, but yeah, I agree.
@@Exilir8 stop motion is a type of animation. It’s cool, though.

This is amazing! I have always wondered how a polaroid camera works. I have one, and its awesome!
You're welcome! Glad you liked it.
Wow. I'm doing the Polaroid camera for my invention project in school, and this video was SO helpful! Thank you!
I know this was 3 years ago but how did it turn out?
7 years ago, you made this educational wonderful 😊 video ❤️ thanks 😊
Glad it was helpful!
YOU DESERVE BILLIONS OF VIEWS!!!
+LiveLaughElizabeth Thanks Elizabeth!
that video was so informative and presentative, thank you just so much!
I definitely have a better understanding of what Polaroids work like!
I got interested in how this works cause of Life Is Strange game :)
Thanks for the vid :)
Never heard of that, I need to check it out.

Haha, that brought me here too, I also take physics so wondered if polarisation affected things.

I loved Life is Strange! I was attracted to Maxine's camera!
Rival if you didnt save chloe at the end i will come to your house
Very nice video about the topic, straight to the point and elegantly executed (just like the Polaroid mechanism!)
thank you, I found one in my garage and I was just fascinated on how this thing works.
Glad you liked it!
Lovelyyy stop motion animations!! :o
I enjoyed it very informative. Even today I find these very handy to have.
im looking for these kind of inventions. thanks for this vdo
Very nostalgic indeed..I still have some of our family pictures taken from Polaroid camera..
Absolutely enjoyed this video despite my debuts at the begging! Well done and thanks! x
I have my debuts about it too 🙋♂️
This is an awesome video! Love seeing what’s inside one of my favorite types of cameras :)
great concise explanation of how a polaroid works, thank you :) !
Glad you enjoyed it!

Just like every brand of tissu is called Kleenex.
I'm just now getting into instant camera's, got myself a polaroid Sun 600 LMS, mostly due to Life is Strange lol ^~^
Same lol I got a sq6 instead (nowhere stocks polaroid on my country)
@Viewing channel only omg same wth 🤯
The different layers in the Fujifilm is arranged a little differently because of Fuji cameras do not have a mirror inside.
Very interesting to see how a Polaroid camera works
Great video, well made. Your efforts are appriciated!
Thank you!
I came here after I got curious with my Fujifilm Insta camera
So amazing 😍
man ik these are old af now but the design is genius
Very nice explained! Thanx!
cool video thanks for sharing. I always wondered about poloroid
Thanks , was really curious how that worked :)
Awesome!
Thank you for this video! Someone just gave my son a polaroid camera at a garage sale and I wasn't sure how to answer the question, "what is film?" So you did!
Thanks! That really makes my day, I hope your son enjoys it. You can still get film for it!

Cool story bro. Maybe explain that on the video for that camera. We wanted to know how a Polaroid works.
We’re you able to get The Button camera back together? You don’t see this SX-70 film camera very often. Nice video.
Great video really helped me with my school assignment thankyou :)
You’re welcome, I’m glad it helped!
I would always think before I go to sleep how a Polaroid was made u just answered it for me ily
Just bought a brand new one from a yard sale and thought how do these things generate power. Never knew after all the years it was in the film.
Pretty ingenious for the time..
Cute animation
Gracias!
this is really cool
You’re cool 😎
that's exactly what i wanted to know.
thanks.

I always wondered! And you have such a nice voice by the way. Very cool video.
I saw a polaroid and was like how did the pictures get developed so quickly now I know
Thanks!
That is so AAAMMMAAAZZZIIINNNGGG!
Thanks!
good
extremely rad content! you more than earned your sub
Thank you!
Hi. What device is it that you used to power up the camera?
I had connected an external dc in power source with the correct voltage. It runs continuously though, a great way to see how the camera works.
Cool
Cool great to see it opened up cheers :)
PirateB99999 thanks!
Hi i have a problem with my polaroid the button. Who put i the front of? Do you know what i mean? I need help
I have learned something
Hey, you put 6 volts, but how much amps did you use?
Wow, very informative. Thank you xx
+Dolores Haze Glad you liked it!
That was an amazing way to explain this
Thank you
hi how did you get the door off of this model, I'm trying to get the door off of mine but it seems impossible
I like how polaroids used to be "instant gratification" and basically all they were was a crappy "instant camera," but now they're "isntant permanence" because not many people develop photos anymore.
I had one of this as a child, but I couldn't buy a lot of film because it was expensive for my family.

Dude, cool video !
Motors are not engines
Could you do a tutorial on how to disassemble this model? I recently found one but the viewfinder and mirror is very dirty and need to be cleaned.
I don't have a copy anymore. It wasn't pretty to take apart either. Sorry.
Here's a video the shows how to get the front off.th-cam.com/video/m1HFk_QaR_A/w-d-xo.html
So what does the "shaking the picture" part do?
not much but it looks pretty cool
I remember using a poloroid back in the 80s, and shaking the film made it develop faster. I assume the increased air/oxygen hastened the interaction of chemicals.
P.s. right now I'm reading the book "A Triumph of Genius" about the man who invented the Poloroid. Very interesting read.
Does any type of film work with a polaroid camera or it has to be a specific one?
It has to be designed for the camera. The packs are different sizes and ISOs.
I absolutely love the 80s so I am here because I’m collecting the digger t types of polaroids
I could not understand anything you said because I fell asleep, your voice is too relaxed and passive to make how-to videos.
Nice
Fkn cool! Thx
I discovered an old polaroid 600 camera in my house I got new film to use it, but it won't take a picture idk whats wrong
Could be busted. Did it eject the first frame when inserted?
*camera disembling*
me : * intense sweating *
Came to this from google trying to find a video of a polaroid actually printing the picture, come on dude
What type of batteries does this run on?

Cool animation. Why show an Instax Photo?
I didn't have any polaroids at the time, also great catch!

Why am I watching this at 1 in the morning
here from school
Is this on the syllabus?
I allways saw it with shone the shep cartoon
the new cams work without the battery 🤓
You realize it made 9 year ago?
Yeah new ones have batteries in the body. I actually prefer that over the old school ones.
@@ShawneeUnion
It's anonymous on an alt account, I have a Polaroid now+
T H A N K Y O U
Those little pictures are not polaroids, since they don't come from a polaroid camera.
rad
thx
You got a video camera, use it
Decent video, thank you. However, your voiceover is so monotonous and kind of hard to listen to.
DC what? Surely you mean a DC motor? An engine uses fuel to produce its work. A motor uses electricity to produce its work. There's a HUGE difference.
Probably diesel
ASMR
+God Musikk totally.
I just found a polaroid SX-70 and i want to know how to use this things thanks to this i know how it works now :D
