It's funny as hell to imagine this from Father's perspective: You are going about your normal day-to-day operations, and as your newest experiment you decide to release your father from cryogenic stasis to see what he will do. The second the pod opens however, you lose track of him almost immediately as he moves erratically, breaking the very laws of physics. For the next few minutes you catch glimpses of him on the various cameras you have throughout the Commonwealth, as he warps from place to place at impossibly high speeds. You call a Directorate meeting to decide what to do about the situation, but before you even have a chance to come to a decision you die in a nuclear explosion.
wow I can't believe my eyes, this speedrun was amazing. and I still think about the fact that my first gameplay of Fallout 4 was 40 days and 6 hours irl. and my second attempt is 50 hours and 1 hour irl ☠ but wow, congratulations Elongated Musketgun for this speedrun

@@BenevolentNapalm I mean I don't know how many people still play it. I just did the run because I enjoy it. Not looking for anything else other than enjoying a hobby of mine
By the way, what would you say are your biggest time saves between your last run or the old record and this one? I love Fallout 4 speedruns, but I'm not knowledgeable enough to see exactly what optimizations and good luck happened
when comparing against tomatoanus I save a ton a of time in early to mid game due to some developments I have made and other contributions. The way we handle the sewer pipe is about 4 seconds faster than the old method in tomato's former wr. The rest of the early timesave comes from managing the game's saves more efficiently and doing the armor stacking segment faster. From what I noticed I save a lot of time over tomato from the armor stacking segment by being quicker with menuing. So by comparing times I finish greentech genetics by 29:16 where as the former wr finishes at 29:47. Now in terms of optimizations, museum of freedom sucked in this run. There is a specific pattern for killing the raiders efficiently however I fell of the edge in this run and wasted about 8 seconds, furthermore, the end of the run was not that great. I had really bad rng with tom being asleep and waiting for him to wake up when building the teleporter. Institute was a mess tbh, I bunch of small mistakes that added up and I missed a loadwarp back into institute which cost around 5ish seconds. So I could save around 10ish seconds in institute (my gold sucks in the video and I later got a 2:32 institute gold). There are 2 things more to note. 1 I have had a run that 35:1x pace into institute and I choked it, it resulted in a 35:45 but I did not upload it purely out of disappointment. 2 I have a developed a new route that could potential save up to 12-15 seconds but it is infinitely harder so it is a route I will not adopt unless I go for 35:0x pace or 34:xx. So combined with better luck and execution the route presented in this video could be optimized down to 35:1x or potentially 35:0x. 34 will only happen if I adopt the new route I made for serious attempts. Here is the link to the new route if you would like to see how it is performed. I did a showcase stream of it a while ago. www.twitch.tv/videos/1490266283
That is the unfortunate downside of running this game :( at some point in the future I want to upgrade my pc and take more advantage of the faster pcie lanes on ddr5 platforms for faster loads
we are able to use the vendor glitch because we down patch the game to the release version. If you buy all of the 308 bullets, sell one back to kleo, then sell all back. You will underflow the ammo value which causes you to sell the vendor's items back to them.
yeah, this was more or less my experience of fallout 4, didnt understand how to play it, just ran and ran, clipped thru some walls, and then a nuke went off... i didnt understand anything, or if the cracked version where so cut down in gameplay or something... super strange, and long time ago
I’m confused, I didn’t drop a mine at all. I favorited the mines in my inventory and later on I throw one in the air to make a save for punch warping with the coordinates of that spot
we abuse the vendor glitch on the original patch of the game. We put all of the bullets in our inventory, give back all but 1. That singular bullet gets locked in our inventory and we sell it back to kleo which builds up our store credit. When we go back to kleo's inventory to buy back the bullets, the value gets underflowed, and we just keep selling tons of bullets back to kleo which basically gives a ton of store credit that we use to buy anything we need.
So does progress still save even when you load back to an older save game? I thought that just set you all the way back to the state you where in when you saved the game? How does that work exactly? Also wth is the VATS launch thing?
These are some common questions. When I load an old save and move through a load zone, I am performing a glitch called loadwarping. The way it works is that I make a quick save with the character that has progressed through the speed, then I load an old save that I use for loadwarping. Once I am at the old save, then I move into the loadzone (the fens save is an example). While moving into the loadzone the game begins to fade into the loading screen, I press quick load while that fade happens. What happens is that the game gets confused and thus moves the character from the quick save through the loadzone. The VATS glitch is called a punchwarp. It works by messing up pathing in vats for melee attacks. If you position yourself in a way that the thing you want to melee attack has no clear path to it, then the game has to think about how to path find you to that object. This results in the game putting you into third person briefly while trying to calculate a path towards the enemy or object. If you then cancel vats while the game is thinking, then it will store your cords in vats. The next time that you melee attack in vats, it will teleport you to those cords.
@@elongatedmusketgun9185 oh wow, yeah I figured you wouldn’t respond any time in the near future so I just finished watching tomatoes video on the explanation, very interesting stuff. Good job tho, crazy that you actually responded that quickly thanks man💀😂

We continually corrupt our save and fast travel back to a playable area with the pipboy app. We call the zone in which your screen goes black the fuck zone or the heck zone. Once you get out of that area, you are able to reequip armor that you are already wearing. Since we got speed boost armor earlier in the run it then “stacks” the speed over and over for how many times we visit the fuck zone. That is how I am able to get a ton of speed
if you are referring to vault intercom playing right there, we have no idea why it plays. You can reasonably assume though that the game is confused since you left the vault in the improper fashion. Not to mention that the punchwarp we create is in the vault to maybe that has something to do with it.

We do this because we are setting up a glitch with that save called a punchwarp. In Fallout 4 if your melee path in vats is obstructed, then the game needs to think about how to attack the object, if you cancel vats while the game is thinking, then it will store your coords. So while I load the save I start to spam the q key (which is vats) which also changes the highlighting o the screen object. I spam the key so that when the game decides to get out of the loading screen, I will be in vats and cancel the attack before the screen even fades in.
