    I saw myself in that situation last year, choosing between this and the MT-07. I went with the Suzuki (MT just felt toyish to me), couldn’t be happier with my choice. It’s an amazing bike for sure and I’m loving it.

    I have a new 2024 model and the amount of arm pulling torque right from the bottom is new for me. Usually you have to spin it up a little bit for the torque, but it seems like it's there right from the beginning.

    OC: great videos chaseontwowheels. I was totally set on getting a new xsr700 in major part because of the looks, seat height and engine. I can't believe I'm torn now between the xsr and the 8s. Moar power, ride modes, traction control, qs... moar weight and less aftermarket options, but that will change. The 8s looks so nice in that blue, seems to colorshift to light blue in the sun. Decisions decisions ...

    I had hopes for the 8R until I found out it had the same horsepower as the R7. Would have liked it to be 100+ and a competitor for the RS660. we need more 120-150hp bikes to bridge the gap from the 75hp-100hp to the 200hp machines.

    I just picked up one of these 15 days ago so excited to get a review from you! I preferred the white but seeing all the colors from both the 23 & 24 models together it was a hard decision because they all looked great. Torque(y) engine is surprising and like you I prefer it in the "B" mode. I've seen dyno results for all the modes and A & B have identical HP with C being slightly softer up to about 7000rpm. Took it up to the Towers @ South Mountain Park in Phoenix (very tight and twisty with smooth pavement) a couple of days ago and it was just too much fun! Also watching Eicma coverage there will be a GSX 8R version that is basically the 8S with an attractive sporty full fairing, slightly lower clip-on bars, and Showa suspension (still non-adjustable?) for a little less than $500 more.

    • @thomasbouvier3203
      @thomasbouvier3203 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      well non ajustable aren't a shocker. It help with keeping price in range, and tbh it was really good on 8S stock. Tho i went with more playfull and soundfull ducati monster 937 on second hand... Now arrows and akra exhaust are out, its nice. Thirds bike on my list were tuono 660 and V100 but position won... Much more chill on monster/8S.
      8R looks nice, but been hyped by GSXS1000GX... Damn wanted for so look a "fazer" FZ with a suzuki K5 with full confort, tech and yet that engine i loved on 1000S.. XD

    I currently have a GSX250R. There ARE some VERY nice things about it, but also a few Cons. It's top heavy. You have to be HERCULES to get any real stopping Power from the Front Brake Lever. The Side Stand is an inch too Short. On the Po Side again, I DO like its Power for a 250. There is a long hill a few Miles from here and the 250 WILL pull it at 70 going up it if I drop it into 5th Gear. The Saidestand is SO bad, that on even the most slightly uneven ground, the Stand is too short, and OVER SHE GOES onto its left side. This has happened to me TWICE, and has Broken things both times. It is VERY Stable on straight stretches, but it does NOT like hard cornering. I've had Bikes in the 1970's that handled better.
    The 8S and 8R seemed to have solved most of this issues. I'm VERY interested in buying of those and SELLING the 250!

    As an 22 SV650 owner I’m actually curious to see a comparison between the two. The power, weight is pretty comparable.

    • @basuo8378
      @basuo8378 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      The biggest difference will be the tech since the sv650 is meant to be sold a decent bit cheaper then the gsx8s. The biggest difference on the engine would be the torque, especially in the midrange.

      @halfboltedon9162 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@wlt3585 100% but with the SV falling behind technologically, also with the power from the 8s being close and price also, some people might not really have an issue paying a bit extra for the 8s over the SV.
      We will just have to see, what happens in the next couple of years

    To be honest, the truck was not at fault for your riding. The speed limit was 35, and you were just doing 67 a few seconds prior. Had you been following traffic laws, the truck gave you ample time to slow and no collision would've occurred. I'm a huge fan of yours, but this is my biggest pet peeve with the motorcycle industry as a whole. It's YOUR responsibility here to follow traffic laws. If you don't follow the traffic laws.
    Still here for the honest reviews, editing style, and comedy.

    I got to try this bike a a demo day a couple weeks back and on paper its great, I just wasn't a fan of the ergonomics. What's not mentioned here is the bike has a slightly awkward forward squat that feels like it can't decide between being a naked or a sport bike for riding position, and the handlebars and grips are funky. It's really subtle but suzuki has flared grips that I believe are meant to be palm swells, and a slightly down and forward rake to the handlebars that twist your wrists out... I personally couldn't get used to it. I prefer more straight and level bars, more of a traditional naked or ADV position. Everything about the bike just feels like it can't decide what it wants to be, or who would be comfortable on it.
