    Love the simplicity of your concept, you should make a lot of holes of about 2" in the pieces of wood under the mattress so it reduced weight and your mattress gets better ventilation.

      Kathryn Ruckman , nope... didn’t need a platform. 60/40 seats , use either half to hold foam mattress and bedding.... plenty of storage left for necessities. Some larger belongings not needed daily into storage. Easy, peasy.

    Awesome seeing how your platform is set up for your bed. I have a 01 ZX3 Focus and I'm working on it to make it sleep able for going to conventions across the country. I've slept in it over one week end and it wasn't too bad. It's was an amazing experience sleeping in my car at a rest stop and not paying for an over priced hotel for my weekend away. :)

  • @Homeboywhassup
    @Homeboywhassup 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    Rookie first-timer here. Seen a lot of these vids and this one is one of the betters. Never would have thought about extending one side of the bed longer, to keep driver's side intact for a quick "get up and go." The cut-away for the cooler was also something most of us would not have thought to do.

    Here I am almost 4 years later checking this video out, it's a NICE Build. I really like the detail you took to measure and make sure stuff fits and how it goes in/out easily. My son just turned 6, and I grew up camping with in my teen years with my friend and have a ton of memories. I'd like to covert my Fit to something similar in order to take him out camping - or when kids get older wifey and I can drop kids at grandmas house and take off for a weekend lol. I see it's been a few years since you've posted - hopefully, all has been good, deff outa post more :-)

    Thank you for showing me that yeti battery, can't believe it charges with a freaking solar panel. Perfect for my travels.

  • @1indonesiaku
    @1indonesiaku 5 ปีที่แล้ว +5

    I would switch the positions of the yeti and the stove because while you probably won't need to access your stove lying down (now under your side of the bed), it would be nice to be able to reach into the yeti (now next to your head instead of under it) to grab a beer without getting up. I'm lazy like that. :)

    • @TacoOSRS
      @TacoOSRS 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      DJ Loco managed to fine the one flaw with this build (albeit, beer access is vital) but I totally agree haha

I would totally spend the money to not have to come up with plans that I already love!! Thanks so much for the inspiration by the way, we were considering a minivan but I wouldn't feel nearly as comfortable driving it (plus I already love the crvs)

    Whether you have the time-in experience of a true craftsman or not, you are crafty, handy, and dang smart about using what happened got. Thinking forward and broadly, and solving your bugaboo about permanence versus temporary installation and built a stable removable puzzle. Fantastic! And the skate bearing drawer...(awe)...now, that's usin' yer noodle!
    You've got good spatial and abstract reasoning, and if you've got fluid thinkability you've got it all, baby!
