Kudos to you for undertaking this project. 👍👍 I'm no mechanic by any means, but because of your video I'm going to give it a try. The dealer wants a small fortune, literally, to do this job on my '08 Ridgeline. I'm sure my job may take longer because both seat bars don't retract. Thanks again. 🙏
Awesome video. I have been pissed for a couple of years abiut the back seat legs - i put my bike in the back and the legs get in the way. Perfect details in the video. Doorman product worked well for me.
Greetings and thanks for the excellent video. The sweet island of Trinidad and Tobago is watching and appreciate you taking time to show us how to fix this.
Bought some metal pulleys off Ebay. Watched your video several times, till I felt comfortable doing this project. Wife came out and helped some also. Got it done in 50 minutes. And I'm NO mechanic by any means. Wife said it probably saved us a bunch of money.
Thanks for the video!! I ordered the pair of Doorman pullies on Amazon. I have a 2008 Ridgeline. My two bits of wisdom: 1) I failed to realize you were just removing the back portion of the seat. While the bottom seat was up, I attempted to remove both back and bottom-seat and it didn't go well and I wasted a lot of time. So keep the bottom-seat down during this whole process. 2) The pully's hole is not unidirectional, there is an up and down. I'd recommend determining which way it goes in before attaching the cable. Excellent detail in the video!
Thanks for an excellent video on how to replace the pulley for the Ridgeline. I'm a loyal fan of Honda for life, but very disappointed they use a junk plastic pulley to begin with. Slick way to make extra profits... I used your amazon link. 👍🏼
Thanks, I really appreciate it. Overall it was very easy process, probably if I were to do it again it would take me 15-20 minutes and pulleys are really cheap. I am gonna do more videos about small repairs and mods soon, so subscribe if you want to see more :)
I just did mine last week, it was so ez. I used the Doorman as well. I used the time to pull that crappy subwoofer as well and temporarily install the Kicker Hideaway from my previous vehicle.
Great job! I have a 2006 Ridgeline and both of the pulleys have failed. It would be nice to fix it but it doesn't bother me because when the seats are down there is no problem and when the seats are up they are not in the way. Still nice to see how the fix would be done.
@@PZPal Thanks for the tip. It looked really involved and not at all enjoyable. I may try it based on your encouragement. I've had my Ridgeline for 17 years now and I usually run my vehicles into the ground.
Unfortunately I installed bazooka tube there before I was making lots of DIY videos. If someone will donate me another Ridgeline, I will be more than happy to make a video on installing a bazooka tube :D

Let me know how it goes! Its best to replace pulleys on two seats anyway and will take almost same amount of time. How much did dealer want for it?
@@PZPal $500.00. I forgot to ask, to repair both seats, how many pullies are needed? Two or four?
@@petercarey5074 wow that's crazy! You just need two pullies

I got lazy and used stick on Velcro to hold down my bar. Works like a charm!
That would work too lol
I had no idea how to fix seat legs. Watched this, got the Dorman metal pulleys, used this again to guide me through the replacement. Much appreciated!

Good, it is definitely easier than it seems
Awesome video from a great mechanic. Thank you!

I suppose you can do it when it's time to sell the truck to increase its value a bit lol the job was very simple and I actually enjoyed doing it
