    I think the saddest part for Nina is the fact there is a way better option than living in the woods and stuff... GO LIVE IN ATLANTIS

    Honestly, if this was a one and done, I probably wouldn't have like this that much. I guess Circe's main plot ended episodes ago, Eric Frankenstein did things, and Nina, the only one who didn't take a life ...or fight anyone, was the only casualty. At least it was a solid season ender... Hold on, did they avoid a war or not?

    The superheroes in this show really are sleeping on the job. Green arrow just let an innocent man get gunned down at no provocation, in fact, he never even showed up. Ww let her home's name get co-opted by incel terrorists. And Aquaman literally only exists to solve fish people crimes and he can't help a girl whose only crime is being a fish person?!

      @CapedJoel I mean, I'm assuming Nina wasn't locked up for too long, definitely less than 10 years, and apparently a bunch of the other major leaguers are around considering we saw them in circe's vision. Plus this show definitely connects to Peacemaker and we saw most of the league at the end of season one. Aquaman at least is definitely around

    I wasn’t really sad. I was just more like really you’re pulling that card this late in the game? It didn’t even feel like a finale. It felt like we cut midseason. Like we lost pretty much only one person that was awesome and we kept all the terrible people. And also, it didn’t really feel like that the country was ever a threat, especially from the flashback. It’s like how do we jump from nights from a tiny country to killing pretty much all of justice league. I felt like there was a lot of set up, but not a lot of pay off. Especially to Nina’s death. It didn’t feel satisfying at all. I just felt that happened I guess.

    Yup, I am glad I don't have MAX. I do not want to see Nina die, I think that is a little too much. I am fine with a lot, but that is just too much for me. I am glad that GI is back though, even if I would have preferred to see him see Nina again . EDIT: Wait a minute, It took me a second but when you said Nina's death was more about The Bride then Nina I realized something. She was Fridged! I hate Fridging. Gur. I understand why, I just don't care. It makes me feel more angry then sad, which is not a good sign. Then again this is comics, no one stays dead. Who knows. The Bride herself is a dead person brought to life after all, but I doubt it. After all, Nina's entire purpose was to get the audience to love her and to kill her off.

    • @kingj9664
      @kingj9664 8 ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา

      You know, the term fridging doesn't really make sense, because in superhero origin stories, their loved ones die all the time.How come it wasn't called fridging when from uncle ben died, or when bruce wayne's parents died, or when superman's whole home planet got blowed up. Needless to say, I do not care for the concept of fridging. It was made up by someone who clearly doesn't understand the comic books or even storytelling in general

    This felt rather tame for a season finale with how little of the cast was involved. I would have given this at least 10 episodes for season 1 just to give the main plot some meat. It felt too perfunctory and merely an excuse to tell the characters stories, which I don’t mind, characters matter more than plot for me.
    Still, a better realized main plot would have enhanced the stakes and the characters roles.
    Nina’s flashback story was tragic, but I found it more frustrating rather than sad. The cops shooting an unarmed man felt too forced, and I’m getting sick of the bullying kids trope.
    A recurring theme throughout all the flashbacks and the show is that humans are the greatest monsters and caused the greatest suffering for all these creatures, who, in turn, had to become monsters themselves in retaliation. However, I found this was delivered pretty weak during Nina’s flashback as the humans either felt like caricatures like the school kids or just plain plot devices like the cop.
    The best aspect of Nina’s story, imo, is her relationship with her father and how that, intentional or not, mirrors the Bride’s. Both had father figures whom they tragically lost to the world. Though in Nina’s case, she still held on to her innocence, helped by the fact she was still relatively young and green, as well the fact she would always remember her father as the man who did everything he did out of love for her. Unlike Victor Frankenstein who was an emotionally manipulative groomer.
    Overall, the episode and season 1 were a solid start to the DCU, and despite the shortcomings, I think it did a good job of establishing this world as far more fantastical and separate from our world, and that this is a universe where meta humans have always been a thing.

    • @CapedJoel
      @CapedJoel  10 ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา +2

      So according to the offical statistics cops in america shot and killed more people last year than any other year in history (1,252) with 69 being unarmed. The nunbers go up every year and those are just the ones we know about/got reported. And in most of these cases the police were responding to non violent crimes like traffic stops.
      Also in all these cases maybe 9 cops were actually charged. So dont say it feels "forced" because sadly its not.
