I'm actually glad it's miles and Gwen and spider boy that are the breaking point because like such a big part of being an adult and growing up is accepting not just your mortality but the mortality of friends and parents or parental figures, and what are the biggest issues with Spider-Man comics the last 10 plus years has been Peter acting like an adolescent when he's a grown man and I think this gestures towards that. You don't ever want to think about someone that you know or understand as a child dying but as hard as it is you are innately aware that the people older or the same age as you you're heading in one direction.
2:52 I like how we see a battle involving hoblin coming befor the relaunch, since Hobbie will be the main goblin. While its unknown if MJ will bite or as Scion Death points out dies in her 90s. also over in the all new venom we learn theres actual trouble in paradise with Paul and how they in counseling, and learn that Paul secretly hates Peter. I can't wait for free comic book day as we are told Paul will be sent off or set up to fail.

@@MatthewLoh-ru1mw yes and that’s ok He’s human at the end of the day This is something he has never actually took the time to actualize until now It is a heavy topic to digest as Peter is basically being shown that the only truth in life is death and that regardless of all his heroics it won’t matter in the end as at some point we’re all gonna die and it isn’t only related to his own life but the lives of those around him as well Because Peter whenever he’s in dark situations where he’s down in the dumps he always had to think of what would happen if he wasn’t around What become of his friends and family as that’s where the whole “great responsibility” thing comes from But it’s different this time as he’s never truly had the “outside looking in” type of perspective Basically it’s not just the inevitability of death in his own life but the inevitability of death for us all and that’s quite a heavy thing to acknowledge So him giving up is entirely believable This is just where the hero is at their lowest before the get back
I know people are probably upset about MJ but I think miles being his Breaking Point is actually pretty sweet, and it feels more organic than when he just stops going after kindred
Well at least I can see why Peter keeping Venom back in Venom war would’ve ended up with him being a bad king in black if this was still the next thing he dealt with.
I can’t speak to Peter because I honestly don’t remember or know every issue of Spiderman ever told. But while I agree that what he saw physically would break him to quit I don’t really think he’d care how long these people were remembered or if it mattered. I feel like this is a lesson you just kind of more or less learn as a teenager especially when you’re Spiderman It’s not really about how long you live or are remembered but if you lived a fufilling life. That’s just my nitpick on the whole Scion thing this issue I know there’s more to it than just that speech but the idea that Peter as a grown man would think all of his friends and family have to die in this meaningful way that have to be remembered for all time is kind of childish. But the rest of the book sounds solid. I wonder if this also counts as a Death of Spiderman
I completely agree with everything you said. It’s especially upsetting to have Peter believe the heroes who will die will be unfulfilled when they themselves are aware that being a hero is risky and any day may be their last.
@ I’m only reading one 616 comic now and it’s miles maybe I’ll read amazing Spider-Man again after this or not I’m still not sure I dropped all new venom soon as Paul showed up lol
I don't think it matters how good the story could get or the choices the writers made. People are just too far pessimistic towards this book that it's beyond redemption but they keep reading anyway it because they feel they don't have a choice. The more fans complain about the writers the more likely Marvel could just overcorrect the book and make him a very hateable archetype: a Gary Stu (Mary Sue but for guys) or just continue on ignoring the complaints. We'll they do have a choice. They can drop the book. As the book maybe I feel it's better off canceled or on a long hiatus. The scares are just too deep for anyone to tell the difference.
Some Big 2 comic fans are pessimistic to an infuriating degree. Seriously, out of all the fandoms I’m part of, I have never met a more joyless and fun adverse group of sad sacks in my life.

This book is just pathetic and frankly seeing Peter Parker Spider-Man not react to Mary Jane his former wife dying is just freaking garbage in my opinion.
Because he knows deep down that this is all just an illusion or What-If? scenario. Which could be why he doesn't react to her 'death'! And no, he doesn't know that he was once married to MJ because of OMD ERASING all memories of it ever happening!
Peter doesn't remember being married to Mary Jane since OMD. At this point while he does still have feelings for her, he respects her enough to live her own life and treats her like all his other friends and family. Also MJ is an adult who relatively lived her life. Unlike Miles, Spider boy and Spider Gwen who are still young, are technically his partners/successors and haven't lived their adult lives yet.
@@MatthewLoh-ru1mw fair and you do make a good point about Peter not remembering that due to stupid Omd erasing everything but despite that you know what’s funny apparently in bnd Mary Jane remembers the deal which also makes no sense because if she knew why doesn’t he tell him about that life they lived, it’s just confusing if you break it down at the end of day.
