Hey, love your vids. Do you think there could be a potential max range and speed difference due to a different controller ? Is the battery same capacity with both models ? It would be great if you could somehow make a deeper comparison of the newer one and older one model .. additionaly, I wanted to ask for a long time - how much do you think that the range would be affected (based on your previous tests) with the two person drive ? How many mileage (kilometers) would be lost by adding a second person on a bike ? (lets say 80+80kg)
@@thecapacitator8137 So It will effect the range in a negative perspective, meaning it will decrease with higher power and consumption on third level ? Super Soco states 70-110km range for new model TC Max, which based on your tests of older model (which did about 45km on full charge) is even more unrealistic with this new controller.. or am I wrong ?
@@jakubpernicky4172 I get about 60km out of my TC max (new model). depending on driving style I could stretch it to 67km. This includes about 12km of 75-90kmh rides and about 10km of up to 60kmh city traffic (I could do that trip about 3x on one charge, but recharge after 2x, so the battery is about 35-42% when I get home). We also have a fair bit of hills here, some steeper ones, too. In my situation the km range displayed in mode 3 actually represents real life values. I must admit that high speed, strong acceleration and most important 'head wind' affects the range. Together with regenerative braking enabled and using mode 2 in the city (it accelerates more smoothly, slowly) actually uses about 5% battery less on the same trip; but having a strong head wind will negate all of that again.
Thank you very much for this infp ! Highly appreciated as I am still deciding wether to buy the bike or not .. I want it for me and a friend to ride on regulary, so it will be carrying two people most of the time, thats why I was asking about that also, but I guess not many people have experience with that.. nevertheless 60km is really nice, I expected much less.. I guess that it should be able to take two people atleast 40km on one charge, which is not terrible.@@MrPansophy
Hi. I was wondering if you have considered doing something about improving the suspension. On the same note, have you changed your brake fluid yet? Cheers!
Hi, no I haven't really thought about it. I can understand why you would want to upgrade the suspension though. I haven't done the brake fluid yet. I'll leave it for a few years.
@@thecapacitator8137 thanks for the reply. I changed the tires for michelins and that improved the quality of the ride and cornering quite a lot. But in my opinion the suspension and brakes are beyond horrible. The weight and speed of the bike compensate a bit for them, but I wonder f it’s worth doing something to improve them. Then again, I have already managed to do 10000 km as it is 😊
@@rodintoulouse3054 Yeah it's difficult to know what to do. One of the great things about electric is it's cheapness. You lose that advantage if you start spending thousands on upgrades. I find the brakes adequate. If I was really bothered about the suspension I'd probably be more tempted to look at a different bike. Maybe a Sur Ron Storm Bee or similar. Good suspension is expensive.
No programming connector on the old controllor? Do some of the pins on the larger connector have this function or are the pins needed for programming on the inside you think?
Hi Capacitor, Here in Australia I follow your chanel and it was your review early on the year prompted me to buy a late model max with 3000 KMs. Really fun. I have asked the dealer a number of times how to setup the side port charging. No response. Have you posted on the factory additional loom way to do this? Cheers. Tony
I do like the R&G Tail Tidy set-up. Unfortunately the shipping cost to Australia makes it even more expensive. I might bit the bullet and do it anyway. Could you do a video on how to install it? Thanks
Sorry, too late. I can't make a video. The bike went back to it's owner. I don't plan to buy one myself. As you say, too expensive! Looks pretty good though and nicely made.
No worries. I will order one in Germany and have a friend to bring it over when he comes to visit. I think the instructions that come with the part are quite easy to follow and I might give it a go myself. Keep up the good work. Love your content.@@thecapacitator8137
@@DanielRegulla You might need a good allen key to undo the bolts. I used ones with 3/8 ratchet drive. Those L shape ones will probably just bend. The loom is pretty much plug and play. It's a nice upgrade if you ignore the price 😬
Just got a 2022 version, clearly new type. Can we still use the LBMC v4 software and a USB-TTL UART/CAN adaptor with the new version of the controller (golden motor vector300 72v i assume) to tune the firmware? And is it a 6pin PCIe connector, found a pinout (1gd/3rx/5tx/6 5v, numbering from right down, upwards and then to the left, top 642 being 'clip' side), is that correct for the new version?
can you rebuild / tune our Super Soco just like this if we get in contact with you? that would be cool, like a custom shop :) or is it possible to learn by you how to do it online? thanks!
Why didn't anyone think to put a strong enough dynamo on the rear and front wheels of the engine that will power the engine all the time and the possibility to turn off the dynamo when the battery is full. To make a dynamo on both wheels that produces electricity when you want it you do the same principle in the engine settings and on the mobile phone application as with the old bikes that were meant to be had the light in front you had to turn on the dynamo that was on the tire and turned in order to have electricity.Something on that principle, but in a different place.
I've got saddlebags, and tbh the switch under the seat is super annoying, as I have to untangle the bags & remove the top one every time I want to switch it off. The v moto app is non-functioning garbage too. Other than that, it's great :D
That's a bit frustrating. I've found the latest version of the app is actually quite decent. The tracking works now and you can use it to turn the bike on and off.
Guys, whoever reads this - don't buy any SOCO, they are junk. I was dumb enough to buy one. Range is lower than claimed, it goes super slow. It's just an expensive electric toy. It's not a vehicle. Save your money!
You have such a relaxing, comforting, old BBC show way of speaking
Very easy to listen to my friend. Thank you
Thanks for pointing these things out good to know :)
Thanks for the review!

Hi. Yes it definitely will effect range.1.5kw is a fair bit of power. I think the batteries are the same capacity.

1.5kW more would be lovely :D maybe one day I'll feel like I've the time to upgrade my 2019 one :)

Is an early 2024 model with only 1000k miles on it for £1300 too good to be true? 🫣
Sounds like it. Check closely before buying. I would expect it to be at least £2000
