Yanli calls weiwuxian" A 'Xian" which means little Xian and he calls him shijie which means elder sister in Chinese. In subtitles here they are showing their names instead axian and shijie.
The confusion is killing me 😂 I hope it’s cleared up now but Yanli and the peacock guy from ep 3 the one she’s been sharing looks with this whole time is her fiancé. He’s a part of the Jin clan they all wear the red dot and yellow robes. His name is Jin zixuan and Yanli does like him but knows he’s not really interested. The guy in blue with the headband is not involved in this at all he’s just Lan Wanji brother Lan Xichen
Yanli and Jiang cheng are siblings by blood. Their father is clan leader jiang (Jiang fengmian) and their mother is Madam Yu (Yu Ziyuan) who is still alive and not dead djdhd you will get more clarity in the future eps. Jiang Fengmian took wei wuxian under his wing, when wuxian was still a kid and since then he lives with the Jiang family. Hence he calls yanli as shijie (senior sister) Wei Wuxian is not a blood related sibling to Yanli and Jiang Cheng. Wei Wuxian's mom is Cangze Sanren who apparently studied in the same place with Lan Qiren (Grand Master Lan who is Lan Zhan's uncle) Cangze Sanren was a disciple of Baoshan Sanren (The Lady in Red in the flashback who the lady in the cave had a fight with). Baoshan is currently living in seclusion and she is wei wuxian's grand master bcoz of the relation to his mother cangze sanren...😊 As for the peacock Jin Zixuan (the one with red dot), his father Jin Guangshan (Clan Leader Jin) agreed with Jiang Fengmian to have an arrange marriage between Yanli and Jin Zixuan. Yanli as shown in the previous episodes has a liking towards him but senses that he probably doesn't feel the same hence the reason for them being awkward around each other. Jiang Cheng and Wei Wuxian both hate Peacock as they think he doesn't deserve their sister but they know yanli probably likes him so they try to control themselves. That's why Jiang Cheng was angry when the marriage got cancelled coz of Wuxian picking a fight as they felt yanli will probably feel sad about it. In between you got peacock confused with Lan Xichen (Who is Lan Zhan's older brother and current clan leader of lan clan, also called Zewu jun)
Wait but they’re not step siblings cause that would imply Wei Yings mom married Jiang Fengmian at some point. He’s not even officially adopted mostly due to Lady Jiang cause he never took the name Jiang on he’s still Wei. Like how Wen Yuan name changes to Lan Sizhui.
@@Multibiatcheyy sorry english is not my first language so I was thinking step sibling is an umbrella term even for kids who are adopted into the family but not having one of the parents as their blood Yeah correct he was not officially given the Jiang surname coz of Madam yu i think I will edit my comment thanks for the heads-up

Wei Wuxian is basically their adopted sibling, they all call each other as siblings and others acknowledge them as siblings/all being part of the same clan. In the earlier episode (the ones that took place 16 years in the future) where Wuxian says "Jin Ling is my sister's son" he's talking about Yanli

Still the headband connected between the when earlier EP., Lan Zhan told him it can only be touched by partner.. 🤭🤭 But then again, there's no other choice to help Wei Ying. It's really hard to force 2 in an arranged marriage if one of them dislike it. You can see Yanli sad but had to cancel it. Wei Ying loves the Jiang siblings so he's mad when Peacock said harsh things about the arrangement. WY also is one of the smartest but he's also mischievous coz he got it from his Mother, a great cultivator. He might be treated as a sibling or a senior cultivator, but others saw him as just an outsider or a subordinate of the Jiangs.
You guys should more focus on what they are saying, I mean you are not still used to with this kind of drama. So, you will miss the point, unless you pay enough attention. And Wei Wuxian is like a adopt child for Jiang family. Jiang Cheng and Jiang Yanli are siblings like Lan Zhan and Lan Xi Chen. Actually, Lan Zhan called Lan Clan Leader "Uncle", not Grand Master. Have anybody told them that Yanli is Wei Ying / Wei Wuxian senior sister, just like an adoptive sister, so their relationship of course just like older sister and younger brother The translation is so weird there, mine showed senior sister (shijie) when Wei Ying called Yanli

Wei Wuxian's parents both died when he was a kid, so he was adopted into the Jiang clan's main family because Jiang Fengmian (Yanli and Jiang Cheng's dad) were a close friend of Wuxian's mother (Cangze Sanren, daughter and disciple of Baoshan Sanren who were friends with the lady in the cave). Wei Wuxian grew up with Yanli and Jiang Cheng which is why all three of them see each other as siblings. Everyone else also acknowledge them as siblings. Yanli has been betrothed to Jin Zixuan (peacock guy/cat dude, he has a red dot on his forehead and yellow clothes) since they were kids. Yanli likes him and wants to get married to him, and in my opinion Jin Zixuan likes her back but is still agains the marriage because he doesn't like that their parents decided for them. So they both like each other but Zixuan wants to end the betrothal because he wants to choose his future wife on his own, that's why they are so tense and awkward around each other. (Btw, their storyline and betrothal WILL be important in the future! 😂) You also seem to mix up Jin Zixuan with Lan Xichen. Lan Xichen (also called Zewu Jun, has blue clothes with a light blue headband like Lan Wangji) is Lan Wangji's older brother and leader of the Lan clan (at first many people think that their uncle is leader of the Lan clan, but he is not!) Xichen is not involved with Yanli at all, there is nothing romantic going on between them. Xichen is an unproblematic character who just loves his brother and wants him to be happy (which is why he likes Wangji and Wuxian's friendship because Wuxian helps Wangji break out of his comfort zone). I think you guys should listen to how they address eachother, and not just rely on subtitles, cuz they usually give the formal names . The difference in their way of calling makes it more personal
Jin Zixuan is/was Yanli's betrothed, and he's also the one you call CAT GUY and THE PEACOCK. All one and the same character. Yanli's mother arranged the match but CAT GUY/PEACOCK/Jin Zixuan is a spoiled brat who doesn't want to marry Yanli. And yes, Jiang Cheng & Yanli are true brother and sister. Wei Wuxian isn't blood related to them but the three kids were raised together as siblings and are very close.
You guys beeing confused about the characters is so relatable because in my first watch through I was struggeling so hard with names, titles, clans and all that all I saw were stuning actors in long hair wigs and stunning traditional costumes in beautiful landscapes 😅😅 so please keep these authentic reactions coming I wholeheartly enjoy them have a nice weekend and lots of love from germany
I love your reactions and enjoy your conversations a lot and it's always so fun, but it stresses me so much that you don't pause when you do so and most of the time you miss some informations that will help you understand some important things about the whole story, also you loose track of the mood too. Maybe pause whenever you're talking and having a conversation. Cuz y'all got confused about the last moments since you where having a conversation and didn't pay attention even if you read the subs 😭♥️other than that it's cool 🥰
I watched this series from a different source before, website that specialize in translating chinese drama(just checked, the website got taken down). It was so helpful. But netflix's subs are by far has the worst one and only make first timers more confused. IQIYI has good subs.
side note: bunnies are very clean by nature and only do their buisness in one area of their territory of course there are some specialists who don't 🙈🙈

The untamed is definitely a good cdrama for first timer. So many new words. Hang in there, the modaozushi fan will help if you don't understand.
