My 7-year old son Po just discovered your channel and was inspired to find errors in instructions. He found one in the Haunted Mansion instructions. Set 40521 steps 5-7. There are three bricks added that disappear in 6 and reappear in 6!

The round tile technique was also used in the original Ninjago Movie City.

@@Dreadcure that technique has actually been legal for a few years. A few years back, they reworked the clip pieces. With those new pieces, this technique isn't illegal anymore.
clips holding tiles and tiles between studs is not illegal. it’s only illegal if you use plates.

I own the Lego Star Wars Justifier set from 2022 and the Engine Hammer on the back of the set actually uses a Semi Illegal building technique, i say Semi Illegal because the Pieces used are tiles not plates, you slot the Triangle Tiles and the Rectangle Tiles into a plate giving off the illusion as Exhaust pipes, i thought it was a very good technique to use.

Little tip as a Sonic fan. Eggman's giant mech is called the "Death Egg Robot," and not just "Death Robot" as it first appeared in the Death Egg; a not very subtle nod to the Death Star.
The luggage cart in the hotel lobby is underappreciated.
Putting colorful flat round studs in the window pillar pieces looks great for walls in doctor/dentist offices, or office waiting rooms!
bro the bonsai tree uses brown shields to give the tree a slight angle for it to look realistic, and the rest of the build also uses some other cool pieces to acheive the realistic look.
Just realised there is an Illegal Lego Building Techniques 🤨
One of my favorites is how the Chef minifigure in Lego Ninjago City Gardens is placed up on the store front to look like a mascot. I was so confused on why he wasn’t built until so late in the instructions only to learn he wasn’t a real person

2:06 I use this technique with the round tiles inserted inside the long transparent brick every time I get the chance since I first saw it in Ninjago City. For example, I put alternating green and dark green trans tiles in the windows of the green tower from Ninjago City Markets. They also have a similar technique in Dareth's bar in the same set, but using macaroni pieces.

The BMW M4 GT3 uses an interesting technique to make the grill. (2 not secured 1x2 black tiles hold the white gun piece straight).
That method that was used on the bubble tea stand where you put the small bricks in another brick, was actually also used in the Ninjago City set from The Lego Ninjago Movie. It was used on the outside of the 'crab restaurant'
If you think that those sets have crazy IQ ideas, you should look at the Ninjago city sets, which is where the vending machine idea and the studs-in-bricks idea originated. These sets have a ton more cool ideas

The new R2-D2 set 75379 uses whips as wires, also when you get the mini fig it comes with a random 2x4 brick I was so confused what it was for.

The lotus evija set uses a snow board as a spoiler
The last step of the orchid set surprised me a lot. The brown pieces that make up the soil in the pot, including the branches, are loose, and there's not really any direction for how to place them. If I turned the orchid over they'd all fall out

I found an error in the new model millennium falcon set. on step 147, there is a 1 by 4 plate thingy that is suddenly added to the bottom, but the step does not tell you to add it. the next step however, does. it seems like they added this piece one step early by accident. Also, on the page before, step 144 shows the whole part you are building flipped, but there is no vortex thingy or arrow showing you are supposed to. Just thought those were some cool mistakes you might like to add in a future vid.

I thought the ninjago city set also had a 1x2x5 trans brick with 1x1 round tiles inside…in that case,they are vertical, though, not used horizontally like in the monkey kid set…great video!

On the Kai's Rising Dragon Strike packaging, on the from of the box Kai is wearing the wrong hood, he’s wearing the merge hood instead of the rising dragon hood that the minifigure has & Nya and Arin’s have on their packaging
so in one of the Lego bouquet sets one of the flowers is made of pirate hats
In set Rocket Launch Center (60351) the rockets thrusters are beehives.
I just got the Mclaren F1 car and it is an amazing set, highly recommend if you like F1

A "0 IQ" technique can be found in step 181 in LEGO Technic 42179 Earth and Moon in Orbit, where it requires you to rotate the turntable to attach the three-piece assembly before rotating it back. While it might not make sense at first, this is to keep you from accidentally putting it on the smaller gear's axle.

There's something I noticed here. These are all older sets, right? No rainbow insides, no never-ending sticker sheets nor poorly designed sets. Really shows the decline of modern Lego, where even licensed sets can be atrocious
The first one was from this year (2024)
@@SophiaJubaSometimes Lego is good nowqdays too, but often not, sadly. Proof of this is Set 10330, another F1 set, which is terrible im every regard
