I use my iPad to read, do emails, web browsing, sometimes write content (with a Bluetooth keyboard), follow by streaming video, LumaFusion, iMovie, and photo editing.
I love my iPad and use it daily! Newspaper, Email, Pinterest, IG, Facebook, WORDLE, Words with Friends, Amazon & TH-cam. Clearly more of an entertainment centerI have a PC desktop for everything important.
I use mine (ipad pro 11") for live music performance as a backing track player/sheet music viewer/looper. I perform professionally and it is an essential tool of my show. For me the mini is too small and the 12.9 is too big.
I have an 11 inch 2018 iPad Pro. I use this everyday and take it with me places a lot of the time. I use it for watching video but I also use it for my school work and for journaling. I love mine!
I've used a 12.9" iPad Pro (2018) almost every day since I bought it in 2019. I bought it as a note-taking device for college and work, and now I use it as an e-reader, personal TV at the gym, to play games, and basically as my travel laptop. I use it with the Magic Keyboard sometimes and just a folio case other times. It's one of my favorite devices. EDIT: Yes, all-in, it was about $1,800. I regret nothing.
Can you share more of your gaming experience please? :) (which games, are these mobile games, are there any full fletched games or is it just mobile gaming 2.0 etc.?) Thanks in advance :)
I BOUGHT A MINI 4 TEN YEARS AGO AND ITS STILL GOING STRONG. I USE IT WITH A ZAGG KEYBOARD COVER AND USE IT EXCLUSIVELY FOR WATCHING TV AND VIDS AT BEDTIME. PERFECT SIZE.
I ‘downsized’ from the 11” iPad Pro to the iPad mini last year and haven’t looked back since. I use it ALL THE TIME. If Apple can cram in a brighter, higher res screen, it’d be perfect.
I'm pretty sure the Mini has the highest PPI of all iPad screens, so resolution isn't an issue. Not having a higher refresh rate is a problem though. 60hz in 2023 on anything is lame.
@@Manuzoka1996 not 4k. the screen needs to be brighter, higher refresh rate would be nice. Fix the jelly scrolling. But brightness is a big issue if you try to use the mini in the sunlight.
Wanted to comment on your video, Was just about to pull the trigger on an iPad Pro along with a MacBook Pro I was planning to get, then found your video on the mini did some research and got the 256 GB mini instead and man. THANK YOU, this thing is the bees knees and is a great step in for walking around the house reading stuff or watching TH-cam and playing stuff like old school RuneScape. Cheers my friend and felt you deserved the comment! Thanks again! My lady has an iPad regular size and after handling both I am happy with the mini, not to knock on or say the regular iPad isn't useful for certain peoples needs but for what I needed between my laptop and phone this is phenomenal.
I could not agree more that the iPad mini is the best choice. I have both the mini and the larger iPad Air. I use the mini 75% of the time. The best part of the mini is that you can hold it easily with one hand which makes it very comfortable to use when you are lying down on a couch or bed. It is so easy to travel with. I am thrilled to hear that Apple is working to upgrade the Mini, which I will definitely consider buying when it is released.
This is the only iPad I ever actually used, and I use it nonstop. the only thing I need in the 7 is a better display. I won't be able to give Apple my money quickly enough.
I used 8 inch tablet more than 10 years already, lenovo, mipad 4 ... now ipad mini 6. I only use phone for normal call and normal sms coz it's too small. But 10 inch tablet too big and hard to use.
I do not agree. But I guess a lot of people would agree with you. But for me I guess it is because I never been that smithen with smartphones even though I use them. And I always like bigger screens. But right now I use a midversion the 10 inch and that one could be a better compromise with a larger screen than the mini but for from the size of a pro. For me mini is just to small.
@@hurmur9528 To each their own. :) I don't think anyone argues that the iPad mini 6 is the right choice for absolutely everyone or that it's superior in every single way. I think it's like the 13" MacBook&MacBook Air of iPads. any iPad larger than that is probably being used by pros and people who dabble in pro stuff. Or not being used at all. For me, I never used my iPad because of its size. by the time I start carrying around a 10" iPad in a backpack, I might as well just use my laptop. Better performance and better operating system for what I do. I was afraid the iPad mini 6 would be too small, but it ended up being perfect.
@@Mehwhatevr Yes I understand your point. But I just do not see it like that. My phone is enough for my day to day use. And I do not want to overuse it so I even have a smaller one than I am comfortable with just because I do not like taking up the phone all the time. My most used screen on leisure is my TV since it is superior in quality to anything else I have. TV is also much more social in a family than the smaller screens. Regarding work it is more complicated. I simple do not want to bring work to my home so I have strict uses there. If I work from home instead at the workplace though I have a job computer. That one I only use for that and only for that. I do not want to mix things up. So in the end I find the 10 inch just enough enough portable and still very user friendly with a connected keyboard (also as a protective shield for the screen since I have kids).
I couldn’t agree more, adding the iPad Mini into my daily lineup has been game changing. Having this, an Apple Watch Ultra (Cellular), and an iPhone 13 Mini (Wi-Fi), I feel like when I’m home my phone just collects dust on my nightstand, and when I’m out and about I have content downloaded to my iPad Mini, have my watch for checking notifications/communicating with people, and my phone only comes out of my pocket on a rare occasion to capture a moment or mindlessly scroll social media for a few minutes. 10/10 recommend the iPad Mini!
Have the same setup my self. iPhone 13mini, ipad mini and Watch Ultra (cellular). And so far couldn’t be happier. Best combination i of products i ever put together i may say.
ive convinced so many people to get the max phone, and non of them have regrets, only not doing it sooner, if only for battery life and longevity as a result.
@@DjMarkyBatch teach their own, I have the 15 Pro Max but have gone back to my 13 Mini due to the Pro Max being too convenient for me to be on constantly when out and about since battery is no concern. More of a me problem though as I struggle with screen time when I don’t have a battery that just won’t die in day to day use.
I gave up on buying the big iPads a long time ago. Just didn't fit my workflow or lifestyle. But the Mini has been my go to since its launch, and is even better now with the pencil to sketch and take notes. It's definitely my go-to for reading comics and ebooks, because I can hold it one handed and not get fatigued like with bigger iPads.
I’ve been using my 11” iPad Pro constantly since it came out, including upgrading to the M1 version. I use it for everything… Social media, writing and spreadsheets, video editing, photo editing, scanning every piece of paper that comes into my house into Goodnotes and on and on and on. I also bought a used Mini 4 for the other day to see if it seemed useful, and I absolutely love it. I think I’ll upgrade to a Mini 6 but I will still keep the 11 inch as my main desktop workhorse.
Bought a 7th generation refurbished iPad in December 2021. I use it every day. Average about 6-7 hours daily ( I’m retired) Only use the iPhone 6 for calls and texts. It’s getting upgraded in September. Also have a 2009 white MacBook I use occasionally. But yeah iPad is my daily driver.
I have heard some people say that the 12.9-inch iPad Pro is too big or too expensive. However, I have found that the larger screen is perfect for watching movies, playing games, and working on spreadsheets. The 5G cellular option also means that I can stay connected to the internet even when I am not near a Wi-Fi hotspot. Overall, I have been very happy with my iPad Pro, and I would recommend it to anyone who is looking for a powerful and versatile tablet.
Do you have a MacBook? If not, I can see the point of having it. That’s the biggest reason for owning the 12.9. That was me a while ago. I’ve had all the 12.9’s except the last one. I didn’t own a computer outside of my work computer provided by my job. Even then after a while I realized I was only really using it for media consumption. It had so much power and no Pro apps. I sold it. I just do all that on the phone now lol! I’ve been thinking about the mini as a dock for music/smart home stuff and the occasional media device.
My iPad Pro 12.9 inch is my laptop basically. My files stay in iCloud, my saves projects are within apps. Has all the apps I can ask for, and also used as a media device. Im never on my iPhone either until I go out form work or home.
I have an iPad mini 4 and use it every day for a variety of tasks: email, shopping, internet browsing, games, TH-cam, news, and a lot of ebook reading. Love it’s size and portability.
Two years after purchasing my ipad M1 12.9, I still use it rigorously. I’m a digital artist and comic illustrator, and also a photography enthusiast and often time a “vlogger”. I edit all photos and videos using my iPad. This is my primary computer.
I think. It depends the users. Definitely big screen is always comfortable to work. But for me as I am a site architect. Going through hassle of the site with switching instruments, laser measurements. Definitely Ipad mini is more handy.
I have a 4th gen iPad air, and I use it for… Well, a lot of things. Watching any type of content is perfect on an 11 inch screen, drawing is also really pleasant, nomad sculpt also delivers a great sculpting experience to an iPad (though if you are going to take sculpting seriously, you might consider buying iPad Pro, as, even with my low effort sculpts, it still lags quite a bit). iPad is also amazing for studying: checking your marks, making ToDo lists, reading books and even doing notes and homework. If you want a perfect all-in-one solution to study, watch content and draw/sculpt, I think iPad is a great choice!
I use my 11 inch ipadpro so much for personal administration ,investing ,writing books ,light video editing , watching movies, tutorials for cooking, store all my documents, tracking payments of bills, do anything i would do on the pc including studying and runing business. Ipad is ultimate multimedia school home administrative device on the planet. I use it so much actualy cause its so easy to carry battery lasts long and the magic keyboard transforms it into the laptop on demand.
I got a 12.9 iPad about 2 years ago and barely used it for a while. Then I got the Magic Keyboard and I’ve been using it everyday since then. I honestly couldn’t imagine a day going by without using it. I work from home and mostly use it to time myself to make sure I’m completing tasks in a reasonable time limit. I also am constantly streaming things that aren’t too distracting…… Spotify, Netflix, TH-cam… etc. It’s not feasible to try to use the iPad while working without a keyboard. There are too many steps that come with using it that makes it more of a distraction. Having it with a keyboard puts everything’s within easy reach.
I 100% agree. I’ve tried other iPads but keep coming back to the mini. I have my phone with me all day while I’m out of the house, but once I’m home it sits on my desk. The mini 6 is perfect for me to keep with me as I roam around the house. It’s the perfect size for being online, using social media, reading, or even taking calls of I have to. It really meets almost all my needs. I have a MacBook Air for when I need a laptop, and the mini for when I don’t. It doesn’t pretend to be a laptop like other iPads. Plus it’s great to travel with. It’s small enough to fit in any bag I take and can access all my media so I can connect it to the hotel tvs.
I get your point.. but lets just think logically. Although iPad mini doesnt pretend to be a laptop like other iPads, it pretends to be like iphone pro max or iphone plus but with less advanced cameras. It doesnt have a big retina screen unlike other ipads so videos consuming is not that enjoyable. Yeah, It is super portable because of his size.. but if the philosophy is - the smaller the better - get the iphone mini and you wont even know you have it in your pocket. I really think the only iPad worth of buying is base model ipad 9gen. For less money than iPad mini, you get more real estate for watching videos. So better value for your money. And thats my whole point basically.. in this world, you gotta be smart with your hard earned money.
I have used iPhone since the XR came out, but 3 days ago I got my first iPad the iPad Air 5th gen and I’m obsessed with it! The screen is big, the screen on my iPhone 14 Pro is kind of tiny. Such a big difference! I use the iPad to watch things, it’s amazing.
That's why I consider 8 inch to be the sweet spot for tablets. Not big to be cumbersome, not small to be a smartphone. Just the right side to do big things on smaller scale. The iPad mini really is the best of both worlds in terms of mobile on the go productivity and online connection.
Cheers Joel! Spot on. Though I won't lie - a foldable iPhone / iPad type thing would be very interesting! Maybe in 5 years time once they've figured that out :)
I have the iPad mini and I use it every day. It fits in my purse so I bring it to work with me to use as a planner (with the GoodNotes app). I also use it as a notebook for college, as a kindle, its better for watching videos on while laying in bed than my iPhone, and it's the perfect size for games. I absolutely love it!
I use mine 12.9 pro for :Emails, Excel, Word, school home work, coding, music, light gaming, music, online banking, investing. I use mine pretty much for everything to the point that I sold my old gaming PC since I can do everything I did there on my IPad. Of course I can’t install any softwares that run on PC or MAC but that’s what I have a work computer at work in the office.
I exclusively use my iPhone and iPad mini for everything. Screen size doesn’t matter to me as I am blind and use Voiceover and dictation. Dictation needs a lot of improvement but it is sufficient for personal emails and text messages. For anything that needs more accuracy, I either use the on screen keyboard or a Bluetooth keyboard. I haven’t used a laptop for over a year.
Totally agree, I bought the first mini and user it for 5 years! Its still perfect and working 😊 Last year without a doubt bought the updated version, I use it for youtube, browsing, Netflix and so on…of course during flights is the best in size and weight! So the best iPad at all
I am using mine every day, for reading, writing, storyboarding, watching, listening, drawing, gaming. And that’s an air, light and very portable, fast as lightning, dependable for every task you throw at it, and the screen is a nice size. Sorry, but the mini is just a bigged up iphone, or a scaled down air, whichever way you want to look at it.
As a student, IPad 9 is perfect. It is student budget friendly and replaces all my notebooks and textbooks. The mini is too small of a surface to use for your handwritten notes.
Thank you. I have same issue. I have mini 6 and pencil 2 and I still struggle and think it’s to small to take notes so Im thinking of upgrading to air or pro because of it cause I already have pencil 2nd gen and cheapest ipad is not supported. 🥲 but then again I just learned new Air and pro may be released in month or 2 so Im wondering if I should wait and spend probably 200-300€ more or just go and buy 2 yrs older ones 🤦🏼♀️ Apple makes me so confused
I get rid of my 11 pro iPad for this mini and i don't regret it at all! just did the same with my iPhone, sold my 14 pro for the 13 mini. Mini devices are so enjoyable to use.
Initially purchased my iPad (9th gen) for reading books and other documents. Now it’s become a MacBook replacement. Due to my wife’s increasing photography and editing hobby. She’s turned it into a part time job! It makes her happy and it gets her outside the home with activities. Later on in the year, I’ll eventually purchase another MacBook Pro.
11” M2 iPad Pro is my 1st iPad replacing my Mac Mini for personal use. The improved OS with apps like Lightroom & MS365 and the ability to use large displays was the deciding factor for me. The mini? I’ll just pull out my iPhone. Oh, and speed kills.
I had to go with the Air 5. Bought both it and the mini, which I REALLY wanted to enjoy, but the text was just too small for me on the mini. When I needed too use Split View or trying to read contents of a widget, I noticed when testing out both, I tended to get headache with the mini. Shame because I really wanted it to be the one I kept. Air 5 has been great thus far though.
yeah this was ultimately my issue with the mini as well! the text was just too tiny for my terrible eyesight, and unfortunately iOS doesn't allow you to globally increase the display zoom in the way android and windows does. :(
I use my mini for EVERYTHING! It's my planner, fave e-reader, and way to watch videos or view social media...but I don't consider it a bigger version of my phone. It's just so convenient to take with me everywhere. I also use the heck out of my iPad Air 5, but it does stay at home. I use it for grad school reading and work and for, video and photo editing and journaling and so much more. The Air is my preferred device for Zoom calls or video meetings. In fact, I think I use my two ipads MORE than my Macbook!
Hi, would you suggest having two ipads and laptop for most graduate students? I'm a 1st year grad student in the middle of doing some tech upgrades. I currently have the ipad mini 6 and a laptop.
@@PettyCrochet I guess that is really up to you and what you are studying. I personal have an iPad Mini, an iPad Air, a MacBook air and a Windows desktop PC but I'm a tech geek and love all the tech toys! I honestly and considering selling the PC as I'd rather be all Apple. As far as grad school, I really only use my iPad Air and my laptop for grad school and I could do just fine if that was all I owned. The iPad mini is my choice for planner and e-reading but I really never use it for school stuff.
I currently use an iPad 9 64GB. Chose this as this is a Apple’s most budget-friendly option. As a student, I find it extremely useful to annotate lecture slides directly as opposed to having to carry a laptop, stationary and foolscape papers to class every day. Some lecturers don’t even provide the learning materials in advance. The 4:3 asoect ratio is an outdated screen that really irks me when I wanna watch youtube and movies tho.
I'm a harpist and use my 12.9 almost daily as I digitized my entire sheet music library. I use ForeScore and it's an amazing sheet music app. However, that's about all I use it for. I bought a mini 2 weeks ago and use it more than my iphone now. I draw with Procreate, I play way more games than is healthy, and I use a lot of productivity apps as well. I love this silly thing. However - I really wish the mini had two features - faceID and wireless charging. Then it would be the perfect device.
I’m fortunate enough to own the iPads Air 3, 12.9 M1 and Mini 6. If I could only have 1 I would definitely choose the Mini. My space gray Mini 6 goes with almost everywhere I go and is the one I use most even when I’m at home. Sometimes it’s a bit jarring to go from my other devices with 120 hertz displays to 60 on my Mini but other than that this is the perfect content consumption device for me
I just purchased a 2022 M2 iPad Pro 11” upgrading from a 2018 iPad Pro 11”. I do digital art and edit my photography on it. Very useful & the mini would be too small for me. I’m also studying at University and will be writing my assignments on it!
I have 2 laptops, 2 phones and an ipad which is something I use the most. Everything from my daily notetaking to book reading, movies and youtube. The size of it makes it the best device ever.
Love my iPad Mini! I use it for so many things in my daily life (including TH-cam 🔥). I wouldn’t be too mad if they made a pro option personally (or at least updated a few of the hardware and screen specs)
I use my iPad for everything all throughout the day (read my books, stream movies, shop, hand write in my journal, etc.). Especially for creative work as a graphic artist/designer. I use to have a mini, but I did size up for the drawing screen space.
I got the M1 iPad Pro 12.9 on release day so 2 years ago, and had just retired at 55. I use it every day for media consumption, banking etc. It’s the perfect size for watching videos and reading articles. I had a mini and air but you can’t beat the 12.9 pro. Anything less is a big step down imo.
Hello! I have an Ipad with the A14 Bionic chipset. I use it all the time from playing games and surfing the web in my spare time, to reviewing pdf’s and listening to audiobooks at work. I love how light and versatile it is. With the Magic Keyboard it is really easy to navigate with one hand. I am also going back to school this next semester and expect my ipad to be my main driver for note taking and reading textbooks.
I really wish they'd come out with an M2 version of the iPad Mini, you know? And if they added an OLED display, it would be a total game-changer for my editing needs when I'm traveling. Imagine the performance boost with that M2 chip, making everything run super smooth and rendering lightning-fast. Plus, the OLED screen would bring those colors to life, with deep blacks and amazing contrast. Seriously, it would be the ultimate travel buddy. Fingers crossed they make it happen!
it would be to much power to put in a small device drastically reduced battery life would be hard to avoid and you cant use one of the main features stage manager effectively
@aliciapark6241 How do you know it's going to strain your eyes? We've never used one before. So you gotta give it a try. Just like you popped your cherry
I have an iPad 10th gen. Use it all the time for balancing my accounts, playing games, Social media and colouring apps. I also have an iPad mini 4 which is great to use as my ebook reader with my favourite app. It's the perfect size for reading epubs.
I use my pro a lot, especially for art and design, the Affinity range in particular. With 3D apps like Nomad being so capable and Procreate Dreams on the way, just gonna keep getting better for creatives
12.9 uses: electronic sheet music display, secondary display (duet display) for laptop, movie streaming when traveling, backup for when other iPad is charging.
I have my 12.9 inch iPad Pro since a year after it came out and use it everyday (for entertainment purposes mostly and for studying/ taking notes). This is the second ipad I have owned. My first ipad was like the 2nd or 3rd gen ipad that lasted me years….I wouldn’t have updated it but at some point the one i had wasn’t compatible with software updates anymore so that was my cue for an upgrade. My ipad is my main portable tv/ e-reader. I do have a tv but rarely use it.
I totally agree with you! I’m currently on my iPad mini to write this, and it’s the perfect size for reading, watching content, and typing out comments like this. I also have a 10-inch iPad, but it’s just too big for most tasks-really only useful as a second screen when I’m at a coffee shop with my laptop. The mini, though, has become my go-to for so much because of its portability and ease of use!
I agree with you. Big iPads are no replacement for laptops and they are too big and too heavy. I just bought the ipad mini 6 and am very happy with it, not too heavy, the screen is bigger than the phone. I just hope they upgrade the screen of the upcoming new version ipad mini.
I have an iPad mini and I absolutely love it. It’s incredibly fast and the perfect size for a tablet in my opinion. The bezels could be a bit thinner but that’s ok.
I literally just downsized from a 12.9 inch iPad Pro to the 11 inch iPad Air, no regrets, absolutely love the size. However, I have owned an iPad mini since they first came out. I currently have the iPad mini 6 and I am looking forward to the seven coming out sometime this October! I will be trading in my six for a mini seven immediately. I think by far the iPad mini is the most fantastic model ever. It’s so versatile and it’s so portable, I just throw it in my purse and go.
Completely agree! I have loved downsizing to this iPad mini. It is so convenient and much more portable than my previous iPad Pro 11”. Agree also that the battery life seems a little worse, but worth the trade off.
I don’t have computer anymore (last 5 years about). Use my iPad for just about everything else. Only hate the finger input of typing , but of course there’s a solution for that!
I agree with you. personally I use an iPad 6 mini and an iPhone 13 mini! this is the perfect combo for me. for the internet I use connection sharing. it's a mini but mega combo! 👍🏻
Yup. The iPad Mini and iPhone 13 mini are pretty much the only Apple products I care for. Just waiting on the next one to see if it has a ProMotion OLED display.
My iPad Pro 12.9 is my daily driver. I use it heavily on a daily basis and it is my work horse. I don’t have a laptop and thanks to external display, I can do so much more with it when I’m working
I own a Microsoft Surface, I never saw the need for a tablet like an iPad or Samsung until you've got a full Desktop OS in the palm of your hands. Windows on a tablet is an absolute killer app for me! Netflix in the evening from the couch. Full desktop apps during the day at home or work. Nice video btw! Thanks for your insights.
@@PeteMatheson Thanks! I actually use Windows on a daily basis as my main OS, never owned a Mac to be honest, but an iPad with macOS would be awesome I'm sure! Started watching your videos a couple of days ago, you've earned a new sub! Awesome content!
my problem with the surface vs. iOS is they have terrible performance unless you go for the larger 12" model which defeats the whole purpose for me. if I'm going to use a 12-13 inch tablet why not just use a normal laptop? for me tablets are great because they're small, light and the keyboard part isn't permanently attached (or at all, in my case, since I just use a logitech k380)
I swapped out the first iPad mini after it stopped doing updates and bought a new iPad Air 4 love it use it every day take it with me everywhere always with me
The Mini has been my only choice since it was first introduced. I currently have a Mini 5 and it’s my most used possession. I use it for nearly everything from entertainment to serious writing and budget keeping. I watch streaming tv on it, I read books, I keep a diary, I listen to music, I watch (and learn from)TH-cam videos on it. I use it at least 5 hours a day. As you say, it’s the perfect size (almost exactly the dimensions of a hard cover book). I don’t usually take it with me out of the house - that’s what my iPhone is for. But at home, it’s the iPad Mini all the way (and only occasionally, my Macbook Pro). If there was a fire and I could only take one thing out of the house with me (other than my pets), it’d be my Mini.
I have a 11" M1 Pro and use it everyday for taking notes, media consumption and messaging (multiple apps like email chat etc...). I do have a mini that I love too and also use it everyday for music and easier portability for a companion when I go out in the world alone 😥
I travel quite a bit and having both the 10.9” Pro and the Mini as an EDC works really well for me. I wish I could make do with just one or the other but both really do have it’s specific uses which makes me more proficient in what I do. So yeah, I love the iPads!
I bought an iPad Air 5th gen back in March and I use it for school and personal use. It’s the best purchase I could’ve made. I upgraded from an iPad mini 2nd gen and the difference is crazy. I loved the size of the mini but needed something bigger for school and because I have an iPhone 12 mini
Couldn't agree more. I know that there are use-case scenarios for larger iPads and iPro Pros, but the one that makes a lot of sense to me is the iPad Mini. :-)
I use mine when I travel at work. It’s amazing for watching movies in trains, planes, buses. Also browsing media, doing notes and the price is great for what You get.
I use my iPad 6th generation all the time. In fact, I have ditched every other computing device for it (including a dreadful Windows laptop). I’ve been using computers (Windows and Mac but mostly Mac) intensively since 1985 and I find the iPad far better than anything else I’ve used in that time. I use it for writing, banking, internet perusal, video streaming via Chromecast, YouTubing, etc., etc., ad infinitum. It’s very portable and lacks the ‘clunkiness’ of a full laptop. The quality of the screen display is first class. I would have bought the latest iPad Pro 12” except for the poor reviews it has been getting and I’ll wait for Apple to get its act together before upgrading. Laptops are like dinosaurs by comparison. In my view.
I have got the iPad Air 4. I used it for note taking in 6th form for the last 2 years. I still use it for organisation and graphic design and illustration. I also watch TH-cam videos on it too.
Have an m1 Pro that I use daily. I know everyone's use case is different but when I'm sitting on the sofa at home in front of the tv and want to get some work done or play some games or watch some videos I don't want a large cumbersome keyboard laptop or a phone with a tiny cramped screen. The iPad is perfect.
The thing with tablets is that you need to have a use for them. And which one you want is determined by your use case. My 83 year old mother has an iphone and an ipad. She have never used a computer, but after my dad died she had to find something she could understand. My 11 year old kid has one posession he loves more than anything, and that is his ipad. But the latter one is getting old now, so I am in the marked for an ipad air for him. It is a better tablet, and he doesn't need the pro features. I don't either need pro features, all I wanted was a large tablet. So I bought a used ipad pro 12.9. I read a lot of documention and I find it so much more natural to browse through PDFs using my hands than on my laptop. Plus they are available all the time when I work like having a book next to me. Plus it is natural to draw diagrams and do brainstorming, to browse through my photo library and do some work on those etc.
I’ve owned iPad, iPad Pro and iPad mini. Of all, the only one I upgraded was the mini. Love the 6th Gen with 2nd Gen pen. I use it nearly daily but it doesn’t replace my laptop. I just wish more apps would make use of the extra screen space.
0:26 well I do use my iPad (iPad 9th generation 10.2 ) -drawing as a hobby -playing games - watching TH-cam / movie / anime -messages with my friends / family -listen to songs Many things more lol :D also I had fun answering this question :)
I had mini and air but the quality is too far below the M1 Pro 12.9. Far inferior speakers, screen quality, screen size etc. Yes the mini is more portable, but it’s less fun to use due to the relative limitations, so you use it less because of that.
I upgraded from an iPad mini to the iPad Pro 11” with Magic Keyboard and use it every day. As a result i barely use my MacBook Pro any more. I would consider getting another iPad mini to use for the reasons you have outlined, but it would never be as useful as the 11” iPad Pro or Air. I believe your mistake with your iPad Pro is that yours is simply to large to be practical, the 11” with Magic Keyboard is perfect.
🤣 my bad, I'm sorry! Haha I did manage to fit a foldable phone into my wife's jeans pocket recently! So I do semi-think about those types of problems! Lol
Fortunately, there is no shortage of clothing with pockets that is available to ladies, so from now on, you can choose to enjoy having all the pockets you like, lady or otherwise. 😂
I bought when they came out. I use is every single day for work and on weekends for watching videos in the garage while I smoke. Battery is great screen is great I love it. It fits in my pocket. I think I’m gonna get another one for home since I use it mostly for work
I have an original iPad Pro and no, I don't use it that much. I used to take it on short business trips when I knew I would only need to answer email and do some word processing. But now it is at the end of its software updates. Plus now with the MacBook Air, the iPad plus keyboard isn't much lighter. I've been wondering if I should replace it and if so with what. The mini might make a lot of sense for reading and movies on the plane.
I agree, iPad mini is the best tablet ever. They just need to reduce the bezels and make it even smaller and more compact without losing screen real estate or increase the screen and keep the same dimensions. Either way the bezels need to go in 2023!
If they could keep the base price but double the storage and add a 120hz screen (I know, very big if!!) I think it would be perfect! Just about passable weight/size wise to be a kindle reader as well
I use a Mac Studio as my main computer, the iPad is my portable device. I intentionally use it over a MacBook for the versatility of using it without a keyboard and to keep me focused on non desktop work, so emails, reading, writing. The sort of tasks I’d want to do while travel and in and between in person meetings.
I have been using an iPad daily for 12 years. Started on a gen 2 and now have the 12.9 pro. People are really sleeping on iPad if they are only using their phone or laptop.
My first iPad was a second hand 4.. it actually saw a ton of use, primarily as a TH-cam machine at home at work, as well as other streaming services and casual browsing. It’s use is purely recreational. I have a m2 air and iPhone 13 Pro for professional matters. In turn, my iPad doesn’t se any emails, isn’t signed into iMessage, etc. with the 4 being unsupported and getting a bit laggy, a 6 was a no brainer when I saw them for 399 on Amazon. It’s done a great job where the 4 left off. I also got a knock off pencil for $20 and decent folio case to prop it up. It’s seen a little bit of professional use, mostly as a pdf viewer.. but I plan on this one just being another home entertainment device for the next 5-6 years. It’s perfect for what I use it for!
Should I get a iPad mini 6 when I have purchased a MacBook Air m1 just 4 months ago ?? I mean that makes a bigger device with a smaller device (iPhone ) . Or should I get the iPad for watching media ? But I can also watch media and type on MacBook. 🤔 I want this iPad as a iPhone replacement.
My iPad Pro 2020 is my main device. I use it for PDF annotation with pencil, handwritten notes, Obsidian as my Second Brain. It is my thinking device to carry Around.
Just got an iPad Mini recently and it’s rocking my world. I’m using it for everything now, and taking it everywhere I go since it has cellular. I so wish I would have gotten it 2 years ago when it had come out.
I have the iPad mini which I love...I have started using it with Apple Pencil/One note at work rather than traditional notebook. Im just not sure if its big enough. Buying a bigger screen one seems a bit of a waste of money
I love my 12.9 iPad. When I travel it replaces my Macbook with the benefit of being able to download Netflix for the train home. A Macbook is slightly more usable, but can’t save movies as easily.
I had a 12.9 M1. But it was too heavy to travel with. I am a one bag traveler and was traveling once a week for work. It stayed at home. And rarely does it leave the office, lately I used it to watch TH-cam TV while I work in the mornings.
I bought an iPad Air , regular size 6 years ago. I use it for everything. I use my phone on the go, but my iPad when home or work. It also has data capability but I use wifi mostly. Mostly for work, but also personal like movies, books, Utube, email. Everything links to my phone and is all backed up on iCloud. I rarely use my laptop and use the iPad instead.
I have the ipad air but I use this more because its the same size of my notebook, I can browse and read stuff very easily and it doesnt hurt as much when it falls on my face when im using it while lying down. 😅
Once you figure it out, typing - that is to say writing - is so much better on an iPad than a laptop that it’s not even funny. I haven’t taken my MacBook Pro out for years for anything except complex video editing in Premiere. Honestly, I truly hate laptops compared to iPads.
I use my iPad almost every day. As a second screen when watching TV in my living room. And as a mobile screen within the rest of the apartment (when in the bathtub, for example). I use it mainly for video media consumption.

Do you own an iPad? If so, what do you actually use it for?
I use my iPad to read, do emails, web browsing, sometimes write content (with a Bluetooth keyboard), follow by streaming video, LumaFusion, iMovie, and photo editing.
I love my iPad and use it daily! Newspaper, Email, Pinterest, IG, Facebook, WORDLE, Words with Friends, Amazon & TH-cam. Clearly more of an entertainment centerI have a PC desktop for everything important.
Dude! Where did you get that magnetic stand for your iPad?
You got just about everything else you use listed in your description. But not that!
I use mine (ipad pro 11") for live music performance as a backing track player/sheet music viewer/looper. I perform professionally and it is an essential tool of my show. For me the mini is too small and the 12.9 is too big.
❤ I NEED TO KNOW WHAT MINI TO BUY ???
I have an 11 inch 2018 iPad Pro. I use this everyday and take it with me places a lot of the time. I use it for watching video but I also use it for my school work and for journaling. I love mine!
Got my M2 12.9 pro just for media consumption. Nothing else, got side eyed when the store clerk asked why I got it and I answered honestly.
2018 11inch iPad Pro ganggggg🎉. Mine is also my daily driver
Just replace my 2018 iPad Pro with the M1 2 months ago even my old 2018 iPad still work seamlessly i just replace my old iPad due to aesthetic issue
@@irawankaharudin i plan on doing that soon and giving my 2018 away to a junior friend since it still works perfectly and very clean
Love my iPad 11’’, this is my only media consumption and computer for all my uses, professional and studying. Absolutely perfect for everything.
You take it to the gym?! Wow lol
@@PeteMatheson The gym is in my HOA complex and I’m almost always alone.
Same for me!
90 or 120 hz screen would be nice
Seriously? Small screens doesn't need 8K image.
@@Manuzoka1996 higher doesn't mean 4k. The Ipad mini have one of the worst screen on an Ipad
I don't think anyone argues that the iPad mini 6 is the right choice for absolutely everyone or that it's superior in every single way.
Love this! 🙌🏼
Have the same setup my self. iPhone 13mini, ipad mini and Watch Ultra (cellular). And so far couldn’t be happier. Best combination i of products i ever put together i may say.
My last iPad collected so much dust. Now my Mac collects dust when I don't need it for work or things that require a computer.
ive convinced so many people to get the max phone, and non of them have regrets, only not doing it sooner, if only for battery life and longevity as a result.
Do a 3 sets of 15 each day with the larger iPad and you won't get fatigue.
Hi! Should I buy ipad mini 6 now or wait for mini 7 ?
Overall, I have been very happy with my iPad Pro, and I would recommend it to anyone who is looking for a powerful and versatile tablet.
if only that thing would support java
Do you have a MacBook? If not, I can see the point of having it. That’s the biggest reason for owning the 12.9. That was me a while ago. I’ve had all the 12.9’s except the last one. I didn’t own a computer outside of my work computer provided by my job. Even then after a while I realized I was only really using it for media consumption. It had so much power and no Pro apps. I sold it. I just do all that on the phone now lol! I’ve been thinking about the mini as a dock for music/smart home stuff and the occasional media device.
Bigger screen but doesn’t fit any more into than the mini. Everything is just more spread out.
I wish I got the 12.9 inch 😭
@@Etherealzyo it really comes down to what you use it for.
What video editor do you use?
@@abhaykumar619 lumafusion.
@@bharathramarch and?
Spot on!
I switched from the old 12.9 iPad Pro to the iPad Mini and haven’t looked back. It gets far more use and is far more portable.
If only… 📖 📕
I use my mini for EVERYTHING!
I use the Tab S8+. If you enjoy writing notes, you wont like the 16:9 though. For content its king.
I love my iPad 9. It's all you need.
Completely fair enough!
I have 2 laptops, 2 phones and an ipad which is something I use the most. Everything from my daily notetaking to book reading, movies and youtube. The size of it makes it the best device ever.
Which iPad do you use the most? Thanks for watching !!
Love my iPad Mini! I use it for so many things in my daily life (including TH-cam 🔥). I wouldn’t be too mad if they made a pro option personally (or at least updated a few of the hardware and screen specs)
Yeah agreed! As long as they kept the size 👌🏼
Like iPad Mini Pro, that’s cool 😎
Would Pay the same money for the iPad Mini that I would on the Pro if it had the specs to back it up.
The 7th generation needs an M chipset or at least enable external monitor output. Then I would buy it over the Air 5
I use my iPad for everything all throughout the day (read my books, stream movies, shop, hand write in my journal, etc.). Especially for creative work as a graphic artist/designer.
I use to have a mini, but I did size up for the drawing screen space.
I just wish that Apple would add 120hz and a brighter screen to the Mini - then we’d have a winner! Until then, I’m sticking with my 11” iPad Pro.
That’s very true! I’d also like Face ID
@@PeteMatheson oh, forgot that one! Yes!!
Yes, they did release M2
Nah I rather have cheaper priced iPad mini like regular iPad but maybe even cheaper because of smaller screen, battery etc
But oled makes your eyes strain if someone wants to use it for notetaking it’d bad
I keep seeing videos telling us no one uses their iPad. The iPad is the device I use the most. 😂
these tech freaks are the ones who buy things for no reason
Most people still buying older iPads
I got the 12.9 ipad pro and LOVE it. I use it daily everywhere. I barely use my 16” Macbook Pro.
Yup. The iPad Mini and iPhone 13 mini are pretty much the only Apple products I care for. Just waiting on the next one to see if it has a ProMotion OLED display.
it wont
My iPad Pro 12.9 is my daily driver. I use it heavily on a daily basis and it is my work horse. I don’t have a laptop and thanks to external display, I can do so much more with it when I’m working
I own a Microsoft Surface, I never saw the need for a tablet like an iPad or Samsung until you've got a full Desktop OS in the palm of your hands. Windows on a tablet is an absolute killer app for me! Netflix in the evening from the couch. Full desktop apps during the day at home or work. Nice video btw! Thanks for your insights.
Yeah the surface is a great machine too! Just a shame it’s got windows on it 😉
Cheers Tobias! Appreciate you tuning in 👌🏼
@@PeteMatheson Thanks!
If there was a fire and I could only take one thing out of the house with me (other than my pets), it’d be my Mini.
love that. Quick, grab scruffy.... and my iPad!
have you considered e-ink devices for reading purposes?
Thank you for the placement of your five reasons nicely set in the lower left hand corner of the screen! 👍
Very welcome! Thanks for watching :0
I wonder if the iPhone mini will follow a similar upgrade cycle. One every two to three years.
0:26 well I do use my iPad (iPad 9th generation 10.2 )
-drawing as a hobby
-playing games
- watching TH-cam / movie / anime
-messages with my friends / family
-listen to songs
Many things more lol :D also I had fun answering this question :)
Oh same I got the iPad 9th gen too
Totally agree bro 🙏🏻
I have a iPad Pro 12.9 M1 , but don't use to its fullest.
I use my older iPad mini more 😄than the bigger ipad pro
Exactly! hah. :)
I use an M1 iPad Pro 12.9 inch for everything lol. I prefer using it more than my MacBook now.
I had mini and air but the quality is too far below the M1 Pro 12.9. Far inferior speakers, screen quality, screen size etc. Yes the mini is more portable, but it’s less fun to use due to the relative limitations, so you use it less because of that.
@@Cameronjankowski18 Nice to know 👍. Enjoy using ipad pro 12.9 inch . I do have it and love using it.😊
I upgraded from an iPad mini to the iPad Pro 11” with Magic Keyboard and use it every day.
😢 im so hurt when every reviewer puts the "can fit in my pocket" comment. Like please be considerate to us ladies without pockets even in our pants 😂
🤣 my bad, I'm sorry! Haha
I did manage to fit a foldable phone into my wife's jeans pocket recently! So I do semi-think about those types of problems! Lol
Fortunately, there is no shortage of clothing with pockets that is available to ladies, so from now on, you can choose to enjoy having all the pockets you like, lady or otherwise. 😂
@@RacetobeHoly I’m so glad you typed this I was about to write the same thing 😂
It fits well into reasonably-sized slings.
I bought when they came out. I use is every single day for work and on weekends for watching videos in the garage while I smoke. Battery is great screen is great I love it. It fits in my pocket. I think I’m gonna get another one for home since I use it mostly for work
ironically i use all of my other ipads and not the mini
You are absolutely right! Same experience for me. iPad Mini is the best option of the whole lineup!
I have a very old iPad that I use in the bathroom to watch TH-cam. That’s it.
I have been using an iPad daily for 12 years. Started on a gen 2 and now have the 12.9 pro. People are really sleeping on iPad if they are only using their phone or laptop.
What world are you living in? Everybody uses their ipads.
bless you 😂😂😂
True!
I use iPad every Day
I've got a Galaxy Fold 5 to I never use it.
I bought a laptop thinking will be better than my old iPad Pro… big mistake now trying to sell the laptop and update to the new iPad
I have the iPad mini and I love it. Its the perfect size for videos, reading and talking notes.
“My iPad hardly gets any use, aside from my use case I don’t use it useless product
My iPad Pro 2020 is my main device. I use it for PDF annotation with pencil, handwritten notes, Obsidian as my Second Brain. It is my thinking device to carry Around.
4g ram is totally unacceptable
Just got an iPad Mini recently and it’s rocking my world. I’m using it for everything now, and taking it everywhere I go since it has cellular. I so wish I would have gotten it 2 years ago when it had come out.
I have a iPad mini 5. It still can update to the latest ipadOS and I love watching videos on it!
