I'm really looking forward to hearing/seeing your journey through this! I'm glad you are being your best advocate and fighting for answers. You've got our support! 😀
Glad to hear you've finally got a good doctor and more clarity about your back. I was a massage therapist for ten years and yes your muscles hold memory and that can be released. I lean towards alternative medicine but believe in combining Allopathic (traditional medicine) along with it. I gain meaningful and important information with traditional medicine that can help me choose which path to walk (complimentary/alternative) for healing. I like to first know what's going on with any needed tests etc. then go from there on how to deal with the issue be it medication, acupuncture, PT, naturopathic medicine, massage, yadda yadda.
thank you friend. do you think massage would help? I don't' really like being touched by strangers but I am open to almost anything. I really want to explore the idea that my body is holding onto trauma and how to let that go.
Keep after it! I have had shoulder issues since a fracture in 2016, including chronic pain. My PT has been the linchpin in my treatment. In addition to post op therapy, he has stuck in there with me since an op for frozen shoulder in 2018. He is the one who listened over and over again to my dismay at having been blown off by one shoulder doc. He and his colleague were the ones who talked me down after that experience and who helped me to find a new and more compassionate shoulder doc. He has now walked along through two more shoulder ops and two additional years of chronic pain. He is the one who recommended the sports med doc who has done five diagnostic injections around my shoulder blade. The sports med doc is also the one who followed up after a CT found a miscellaneous rib fracture and who picked up the ball with a referral to a different shoulder doc, one who pays attention to the area where I am having difficulty. My PCP is female-all the others are guys. There are some good ones out there :) My list sounds like yours: ice, heat, meds, Pilates, acupuncture (which has actually been amazing), massage with medically aware therapists. It’s not ‘all in your head ‘ :)
Wow!!! you have really been through it. I am so sorry for you. I meet with my new PCP next week. I feel optimistically cautious about our first appointment.
Dry needling helps me so much on my neck and shoulder blades!!! I have chronic neck pain and back shoulder blade pain. I do see a neurology PA as I did have spine surgery 5 years ago but now pain is back and I’m determined to get to the bottom of it. I wish you well!!!
New subscriber here. Your story sounds a lot like my story. I am so sorry you are going through this as well. I wanted to recommend a book I just got. I've not finished it yet but it's good so far. It's The Body Keeps The Score by Bessel Van Der Kolk, M.D. Thank you so much for sharing.
welcome to the adventure family @williwfan429. I am going to look up that book today. Thank you so much for the suggestion and I am so sorry you share my story. I wish you the best
What? You were referred to a specialist who gets it?! Well your old PCP did one thing right! 😂 So happy to hear you are moving in a positive direction now.
Oh, Jabbed as in the vaccine. My back problems go back longer then the covid vaccine. Are people experiencing chronic pain from the Vaccines? I'm assuming you are talking about the Covid Vaccine and not just vaccines in general?

Thank you so much Deb. I really appreciate you
You can do it!! I'm so happy you got someone who actually wants to help you.

I've never heard of dry needling. I'm going to look that up. Thank you.

❤ Great news!

All I heard the dr say is "I don't know how to help you".
I am starting to understand that idea. I can't wait to meet up with my new Doctor this next week.
Situational depression is a thing :)
I am going to look that up today!!!!! Thank you so much for this comment. The more I know the better.
The reason you are going through this is probably the fact you got jabbed! Did you?
Jabbed?
Or vaccine damage??? Did you get the vax's???? So sorry for you
