    I have been quilting a Tradewinds quilt using your rulers/wishbone/meander designs and wondered, how to quilt the outside border. Then I watched your episode on woodgrain Wednesday, and that was all I could think about in that border. So I did it and rounded the corners as best I could and used some echoing!!! It isn’t perfect, but I like that design and proud of myself for trying. Thank you Angela, I always learn from your videos.

    Wow Angela! You made it look so easy. I did my first practice piece on scraps and wow, it was kind of tricky, but fun! 😁 Great use for those long strips of fabric and batting we trim off a quilt top by the way. I started with contrasting thread and it really showed my flubs. That was actually helpful. Then I kept watching and pausing this video and comparing it to my piece. I tried again and also used matching thread. It's looking better. I'm improving, plus I can focus on the texture instead of the thread color. Thanks for helping us share in the fun!

    Thank you for this challenge! I have tried doing the Woodgrain motif in the past but wasn't sure I was doing it right. Your instruction put me on the right path, so to speak! Came just at the right time too: I needed to work on a small quilt that I made from scraps "Jelly Roll Race" style. The linear orientation of this motif is a perfect fill for the project AND I got another chance to exercise my rusty FMQ skills!

Excellent. It opens up the possibilities to me. I appreciate your recommendation to see Jacquie Gering's Craftsy video for more information.)Thanks so much for generously providing this video series for the Flora and Foliage FMQ Along and the resources linked to the videos. @Angela: I am confused as to which direction the woodgrain should go. Looking at the picture on the Week 1 tips, the area where we're to use the woodgrain goes across the top and down the right side. Should the woodgrain all go in one direction? Meaning across the top it's horizontal, and down the right side it matches the top direction and is also horizontal?

    • @AngelaWaltersfmq
      @AngelaWaltersfmq  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You can do it either way, but I find that it's much easier to have to woodgrain go in the same direction. This is such a great question, I will address it during my live chat!
