《蒲公英》來自作曲家潘行紫旻博士合唱套曲《花的訴說》的最後樂章，套曲的每個樂章以一種花來訴說一種不同的心境或故事。歌曲表達了對「自由」和「孤獨」的情感和個人體悟。作曲家以自己離開家鄉在海外留學的感受譜曲，表面上明快的旋律中其實夾著一絲憂傷：蒲公英看似自由，可以乘著微風，輕盈地飛向遠方。但是，在哪裡停留、停留在誰身邊、想停留多久，卻非自己能控制，也沒有可能再次回到原點。就如人生一樣，時光飛逝，回顧過去，就會發現其實自己的命運和方向並不能由自己決定。望向未來，也不知道將會飄向哪一方。過去的時光，就只有在夢中回味。
“Dandelion” is the manifestation of the composer’s own feeling about ‘freedom’ and ‘loneliness’, coming from his own experience of leaving home to study overseas. The seemingly lively melody contains shades of melancholy: while the dainty dandelion can ride on the wind to fly to distant places, it cannot control where and when to stop, nor can it return to the original point. This runs parallel to our lives: when we look back to the past, we find ourselves seldom in control of our destiny. Looking into the future, we are equally not sure about where we are heading to. As it turns out, fate is forever pushing us to unknown directions, and memories of the past can only be revisited in dream.
