    Really love how more automotive TH-camrs are now in my inbox. Your diagnosis is perfect! I am happy I bought the same truck and the first thing I did is replace all spark plugs and ignition coil. I do not mind spending money. For others on here, I agree that spending $480 dollars for 8 plugs and coils is not easy. But believe me, once the job is done you are solid for another 40,000 to 60,000 miles. I would also recommend you doing egr, throttle, PC valve and hoses checked.

    • @JDMDriveway
      @JDMDriveway  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yup definitely good preventative maintenance. Not too much harm in waiting for the check engine light, but if you do it in advance you can save some money rather than needing to buy it at a parts store. Thanks for watching! - Sal

      @@JDMDriveway yep I’m all about preventative maintenance. A little work or money to prevent further issues is what I like to do for nearly everything. Better to replace a $100 part then to have say a ball joint failure on the highway. Lol I know it’s not always needed but I’d rather prevent issues from happening in the first place. Part of why half the time I drive with no music just so I can hear the normal vs not normal sounds of my truck. Helps me to find problems before they get serious. And checking due diligence before long treks. It’s all something I learned working my career. Safety first and prevention next.

    Good call changing them all. I played the musical coils for like 3 years and finally just replaced them all haha! A simple trick if you have no code reader is to remove and reseat each coil one at a time. If the thudding doesnt get worse and sounds the same you know you have the failed pack out.

      It's a safety feature to help keep the truck under control in hard braking. It's standard in cars now, but I mean if Toyota didn't think it was necessary from the factory it's probably ok to live without lol you can look up videos here on TH-cam to see how ABS helps with braking

    • @garybrady7245

      @smaqdaddy I done mine last year I bought the oem Aisin kit from Amazon (everything in the kit was spot on) I wanna say it was around $170 bucks I think. I have always been a little leary about anything to do with the timing on a vehicle. (Was always afraid of messing something up) long story short I done mine with the instructions that come with the kit and my Hanes manual here and there. First time ever touching a timing belt and it went smooth as glass. I had a real small water pump leak I would snell antifreeze every once and a while so I knew it was time at 137K. It is so enjoyable when you get everything buttoned back up and she starts on the first crank and purrs, something about it makes you feel manly. It was a hell of a experience for me and I got to learn something it's a win win man. So I'd say if you can do good basic automotive work you should be able to tackle the 2UZFE water pump and timing belt. I changed that along with a oem Hitachi MAF sensor and she has got her MOJO back. Big difference in gas mileage too. And as far as could of my timing belt went longer with 137K on it I'd say yes it would have been fine for another 30K anyway or maybe longer.

    • @FreedomLovinLady
      @FreedomLovinLady 11 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Wow, nice job. You got really blessed with that timing belt going that long, maintenance schedule says to change it out at 90k miles. I went 110k, because I was thinking it was 120k, but later realized my mistake and that I was late getting it done. Feeling blessed myself for not having had a problem and I hauled a 5-6k pound horse trailer for thousands of miles across country during that time too. My truck was 12 years old before I hit the 110k abs changed the timing belt... now at 155k miles and 21 years old I'm wondering if it'll age out before wearing out on the second belt 🤷‍♀️ hopefully neither for a while still visually looks good. Gotta replace a cool though, saw one was cracked when we swapped the spark plugs, not sounding bad or throwing a code, but us girls like to play it safe and just make sure we keep on without getting stranded 😂 God bless 😊🙋‍♀️💖🇺🇲
