@multibuddhaneo I'm not sure if you have ever heard the Blue Devils book from 2010, but I guaruntee it is just as challenging as this. Look up some of the harness cam videos from their final run-through. The listening demands on field for them to sync with the brass and pit is incredible, not including the mirrors blocking off portions of the field. I love Phantom, but to act like the Blue Devils had nothing to play besides singles is sort of immature.
@rreemmzzrruullee That may be true, but the only reason that their score this year wasn't closer to a perfect 20 was because there were five more groups that went on after them and the judges had to leave room for other groups in case they were cleaner.
@will3579 yea they do our middle school our eight grade yr we use silver fox and we thought they was tenors sticks lol thats before we swicth back to vic firth
@LAKings0101 Hey,dont get me wrong.BD are some talented as hell individuals.I just think Scott Johnson has been replaced with a body double. Its the only explanation.
@multibuddhaneo wow... this book is amazing and clean. but dont go bashing on BD they try to bring something different to the table every year and they are known for body movement during drum breaks, in fact every drumline know a days adds body movement.
And if the BD singles had been clean, that would have been even better. Saw them seven times last summer. Seven times they couldn't play singles together. Yet, they hyped the nasty mess they made every single time. I've never seen a line celebrate crap as much as those guys.
@studmuffinxDCIx Definitely not. If you don't win percussion in your year how can you be the best of the decade? Plus they didn't play this many notes.
Just goes to show you that you dont need a book made up of nothing but singles ,epileptic body movements and a mirror where you can see your own ego to win high drums.
the irony of SCV walking in the background and rennick's last runthrough with these guys
How ironic that Vanguard walks by in the background... hahahaha.
Just got goosebumps. The energy that this drumline emits is absolutely unmatched.
@will3579 They are endorsed by Innovative Percussion. The snares use Paul Rennick signature sticks. The tenors use FT-1 and TS-2 sticks.
love the sound of the drums as well as what's being played on em. yum yum yum yum!
Man these guys were rocking this year

Tenors at 1:17...WTF
@mikespeed20082 cadets 2005, scv 2004, and phantom 2006 are all just a tad better than this. this is no doubt the best drumline since 06 though
Geeze, no wonder they got 6th place
