Doctors say one of the best way to protect yourself against the new strain of coronavirus is to use the same measures to guard against the common cold or flu - maintain good hygiene by washing your hands thoroughly and wearing a face mask when going out in public. General practitioner Dr. Joyce Lai demonstrates the most effective way to keep your hands clean, and how to properly put on a face mask.

I think the blue side is facing where the bacteria/viruses came from.
From example if you think you are healthy and you want to avoid something bacterial or viruses the white side is inside touching your mouth/nose and the blue side is exposed to environment.
And if you think you are ill/infected the blue side touching the mouth/nose and the white side is exposed to environment. To prevent the bacteria and viruses to spread.
I hope you will understand.

Most masks have the company/brand name stamped across the bottom, whose letters should face outward. But yeah I agree that GP was pretty dense.
the waterproof surface should be facing away from ur face. it should feel smooth and look glossy

This is a serious issue and to stop it from spreading to possibly other people or even YOU, this video is actually beneficial to people who don’t use proper hygiene. You never know when a video like this can actually stop this virus from spreading to another person.

Isn’t normal to have subtitles for most of the news? What about those deaf people? Maybe your country is not so considerate towards those not so lucky?
ダンタスニコル not to downplay anything, but I’m assuming the video is in China, Taiwan or even Singapore which maybe has the CC or subtitles automatically broadcasted. In the US, we also have subtitles but it’s called Closed Captions for the deaf. However, they are not turned on by default, you would need to run them on your TVs function.
So that’s why I was asking. And no offense taken if you were trying to be clever. Just wanted to let people know that. Thank you.

The all white mask still doesn't explain which side is correct. Are both correct? Both the white/blue and the white/white have wired on top. Question is, which side is the front, which side is the back, when it comes to the white/white one?

in street in Hong Kong...got sales of second hand masker by small trader..
Means some used it, throw and they collect and "sterilise" it sell as 2nd hand mask. Asked my hk friend he say there are a lot of this seller.
Just tint/cut the mask before throw it in trash can, my family in mainland do that all the time to prevent someone else “resell” used masks, the same thing goes for the used gloves.
Because mask supply has ran out or very limited only a few people can get a brand new ones. So people who can't get a brand new one buys a "used" mask than not wearing one. I've seen some videos people use sanitary napkins and toilet tissues to create their own mask. I prefer creating my own mask than buying a used mask.

Toronto for example, has all kinds of mask out of stock. So here is me and my friend who literally cannot buy a single respiratory mask, then there is one of my classmates who hoard 800 masks, and I assume the fker is going to make some cash with majority of them. The masks r sold out cuz there were these people who wanna profit on ur misfortune.
And of course there is my dear university of Toronto, now someone sent a photo in a group chat, with the bookstore selling N95 masks with absurd price (8 dollars each, 120 for a box of them), I cannot testify it since I try to avoid public space that contain too many people, but if it is true then the university is leading the way to make profit on others suffering, which as a UfT student, it is quite disturbing.

Answer = straps are fixed on the outside
for some people this video is too basic. They should not watch . For the rest of us, I appreciate the time, work, and money it took to help stop the infection. I am a retired medic and I am grateful for the re-familiarization of basic techniques. Never assume you know everything.

I normally wear a mask this time of year anyway. But I work in home health care. So I am very aware what is circulating around. The only difference now is I also wear gloves, and carry mini cans Lysol with me. Soon if the virus comes any closer I will also wear the eye protection.

It does come foggy because when you press down on wire it should stay pressed but don't and keeps rising.....

To answer the question she never did in this video. With the white mask or blue it’s wire side obviously is the top/nose and the ripples facing down is the outside and ripples up is the inside that touches your face.

With this mask there is no seal on the sides. Is it still effective?
What about the eyes? And the mask needs to fit snuggly on the face with No open areas at all for the virus to get in. Also, wear gloves. I heard a scientist say hand sanitizer is Not strong enough.

Chinese people are aggressive lol when you go outside the big major cities to smaller cities, towns, and villages the woman spit everywhere constantly lol I was getting fried frog legs from street vendor and she spat on the floor next to waggon into a big pile of old spit haha no care in the world as its totally normal and accepted there, or walking down the street men and women blow out the snot from their noses while walking past, some cities abd towns are worse than other and some cities you hardly see it like Beijing Honk Kong and the special economic cities but its there lol. Also I seen Chinese people arguing constantly with each other, police, supermarkets. Security lol I think this will all fade out in about 40 years or so as the culture is changing.
