Anti fog wipes from Amazon. We had them for Gas Masks in the Army. Essentially RainX on a rag.
@@hpblack1953 Oh, no. The optician lady wiped my glasses to show me an example of how it worked. Do you think the anti-reflective removed?
@@hpblack1953 I used several different brands of lense wipes at work, and absolutely ruined my Oakley prescription sunglasses!!! The coatings peeled off and ended up costing me £300 for new lenses!!! An expensive lesson as Oakley wouldn't stand over their guarantee... understandably, in fairness..
Guys just use a little bit of shaving cream on your lenses after you shave in the morning. Put it on and buff it off and you're golden for the day.

And after a couple decades of thinking about it, I we still won't have a reasonable answer.
More likely they will say "how could masks be so basic?". At this rare they will be wearing masks as well. Chilling.

But Look at all the diseases we don’t have in the western world that still do the rounds in poorer countries. Ebola is the first one that comes to mind.
Just the other day I found the most simple method of keeping my glasses from fogging when wearing a mask. It defies 50 years of glasses wearing when I would constantly be pushing my glasses up as high on my nose after they had slid down.
Just lower your glasses on your nose a bit until they rest on the top of your mask to the point where it seals the mask from leaking air. It's simple, works immediately, nothing else is needed.

@@helendavies3929 Actually what I do now is to take my glasses off and put my mask on making sure it is high up on the bridge of my nose and then put my glasses back on. It works as well and my glasses are sitting on my face normally.
At first, it didn’t work for me. Until I realized my glasses weren’t sitting correctly over the mask. This is a great tip!

Double side dress tape. I've used this in nursing for years. Added bonus you can seal the sides of your mask as well for maximum protection.
Our daughter and I have a respiratory issue that requires Epinephrine rescue inhalers and we can both breathe just fine taping our masks this way.

As a professional photographer, I have had major problems with my camera eyepiece fogging up during photo shoots. Not being able to see what I am shooting has been a problem since the start of the pandemic.

Thank you very much I tried the baby shampoo formula and Then followed up on a hair dryer and it worked perfectly. As I wear progressive lenses this method has helped me greatly to see where I'm going. Thank you thank you
Thank you Dr.wonderwoman for these tips. I can feel at ease coming home at night now... will definately try these out. I would just let the fog clear away on its own (its a small joy to see) but when you life is at risk because your response to stop at the car in front of you...... you get my drift.

Very informative. I have spend decades in an OR wearing a mask and have been using method 1 once i needed glasses.
One thing about masks: they really put focus on the eyes.
i cleaned my glasses with shaving cream (spray) and it works really well

I’ve been looking for this for a long time. I put on some waterproof tape (it was what I had) a couple of hours ago and went about my business, including a 2 mile walk. No problem so far.

@@gracecherry8811 I’m not much worried about looking like a weirdo. I consider myself a fashion trend setter. Besides, I’m an engineer. We’re kind of supposed to look like weirdos. I really want to buy as few tickets as possible in the little murder/ suicide lottery we’ve got going on. Seeing someone with tape would make me happy. Seeing someone with their nose hanging out causes me to not like their character. It makes me angry. I’ve gotten kicked out of a Kroger for complaining about the pharmacist having his nose hanging out. In engineering, we’re taught that the goal is zero defects, not gambling with people’s lives to see what we can get away with.
How does shampoo that was rinsed off prevent condensation on cold glasses? I'm more interested in the physics than anything else. The issue really only occurs outside where masks aren't needed (but the hands may be occupied to pull it off) or for a short period of time after entering a building.

doctor jennifer , this might sound crazy but for some reason my glasses fog up like insanely more then anyone else i know. i do not wear corrective lenses but do wear protective eye wear while in the lab where i work and at home for tasks that need it. i have tried everything you mentioned (except the tissue in the mask idea but i plan on trying it soon) to no avail. i guess i have come to accept that i just have ... warmer then usual eyes... but idk is that really a thing ? so are there people whos eyes just fog up glasses more or am i "doin it wrong" , and if so how could this be and how can someone stop it?? thank you for your time.
I lower my glasses further down my nose. It creates more space so your breath doesn't gather behind your glasses. I have trifocals, so it doesn't work if I had to read because the magnifier portion of my lenses would be too far from my eyes. The only place I'd have to read anything with a mask these days is at the grocery, so it's just a quick adjustment making sure my barbeque sauce doesn't have high fructose corn syrup.

@Bill Scott I thought you were talking about the effectiveness of masks. I was going to suggest the next time you undergo surgery to tell the doctor and staff to not wear masks, and see how that goes. However, you don't think Covid even exists. Understandable to think that way in the first few months of the pandemic. But by now you should have acknowledged it's existence. I've had two family members get sick from Covid. My wife is an RN who had to administer CPR to a dying Covid patient. You win this argument, because I don't know what else to tell you, other than I hope you and your family don't get sick from Covid.
@Bill Scott I'm sold! I never saw that study from "they." Thank goodness for scholarly TH-cam research. This reminds me of a YT comment I made discussing flat earth theory. I mentioned to a flat earther how you can see mountains slowly rise in the distance as you drive towards them, giving cedence to a round earth. His response was that our eyeballs are round so that gives everything a rounded appearance. I couldn't talk to a person with square eyeballs to say otherwise, so I let that go (not a life-or-death conversation). You citing "they" is sort of the same brick wall argument technique. Normally I ignore jagoff troll comments, but man, do I want want to kick your ass. I feel it's a public service at this point. I might save a life for the one or two random people bored enough to read this.

The cloth mask I have has a flip up tab that is similar to the Kleenex but much smaller and sewn in it absorbs the heat I got it at Kohl's thank you for your video

@Fred Wills They are probably in BC but in my Vancouver and their Vancouver no it does not rain non-stop all year. :) In Vancouver WA/ Portland OR. we can get 5 months with little to no rain. I bet they have a similar summer season though they definitly get more rain per year.

Doctors & nurses in hospitals do this all the time. It’s the method that works best for me. I have to try the baby soap though.

The folded Kleenex method seems like the most workable. I'm finding I need to put at least two folded Kleenexes under the top part of the mask to prevent most fogging while sitting down. It doesn't work 100%, but it's better than nothing.
Try buying the "Henry type" hoover bags, they have a filter layer similar to a surgeon's mask.
I just fit it flush inside my mask .
If you make sure that the metal piece over your nose is shaped properly, your glasses will not fog up. Hope you have success.
After a month of stubbornly resisting I finally shaved my beard and found it made a _huge_ difference when wearing a mask. My glasses still fog a bit (even with two folded Kleenexes), but much less than before. I can see now! I think the mask is less airtight without the beard, which makes it easier to wear.
The only problem with the kleenex or tissue method is that we could be inhaling particles out of the material itself that might irritate us and make us sneeze often. I believe they are made of recycled paper :(
It's certainly possible, but I keep mine folded at the top of the mask and change them often.
Dr. Tsai, I have a couple questions so I hope you come back and read these comments and reply.
1. Your demonstrations are all with disposable paper masks. Would methods 1&2 work OK for reusable cloth masks too?
2. With regards to method 2, does the surgical tape stay sticky enough if we need to take the mask off then put it back on a few times (for example, eating lunch out)?

The easiest way to stop your glasses fogging up is to keep them clean! Same as in the car. If you clean and polish the inside of the glass it doesnt mist up and if it does, demists much faster!

You can also use the adhesive strips from Band-Aids in case you haven’t got any surgical tape (what??).

Jennifer, Hi thank's for your video and tip's . I wear glasses and I discovered if I wear mask without covering up my nose while wearing it .That work's too ! My glasses do not fog up ! But I have a problem looking at your videos because my glasses keep getting foggy over your great beauty girl ! :)
I found going to the auto accessory shop and buying somer windscreen antifog works great.
She's got incredible eyes.
Her irises seem too large to be natural so she's likely wearing circle contact lenses
