  • Follow along to these stretches to get a flexible back! Improving back flexibility will help you get your chest stand, backbend, needle and much more. This routine is perfect for anyone whether you're a beginner, intermediate or advanced at flexibility. For fast results, I recommend following along daily or at least 3 times a week.

    Edit: hey people. I quit gymnastics and started skateboarding. I got the bendy back after about 3 and a half weeks so you can do it :)

    I’m gonna do this every school day and track my progress! I have really bad back flexibility, although I do have my splits!
    Day one, April 19: I tried all the stretches best I could but it was hard for me and my back hurt while doing them
    Day two, April 20: Today I warmed up first, so I could do them a bit easier, but it still hurt my back
    Day three, April 21: I was able to do them easier today! My back hurt less too, even though I’m still not flexible. It’s already working!
    Day four, April 24: A bit easier today too, I skipped a few days because of the weekend but yeah I think I’m slowly improving!
    Day five, April 25: The stretches are really hard to do, but each day I can do them a bit longer without having to stop!
    Day six, April 26: I’m definitely getting better at doing them now! The standing backbend kind of hurts though so I’m careful while doing it
    Day seven, April 27: I’m getting there but I’m trying not to hurt myself
    Day eight, April 28: It keeps getting a little easier to do the stretches each time!
    Day nine, May 2: I missed the weekend again and was too busy to do it on Monday, but I made sure to do it today! I can do the stretches about the same but I think I’m slowly improving.
    Day 10, May 3: slow improvement!
    Day 11, May 4: I was really tired doing it this time because I had worked out beforehand but I still did the stretches 😅
    Day 12, May 5: I was feeling really unmotivated today so i didn’t do any stretch routines except this one, but I was able to do the backbend without my back hurting, so that’s progress!
    Day 13, May 8: I’ve been really busy and I usually skip the weekend anyways, so it’s been a few days. But I’m still making progress! I was able to do the standing backbend without any pain, and I can also do a normal backbend so it’s definitely working!
    Day 14, May 9: About the same, just slow progress! Also ty so much for the likes ❤
    Day 15, May 10: I’m making good progress, my back is pretty flexible now!
    Day 16, May 11: Guys I’m SO HAPPY I can touch my head to the back of my feet while in a sealstretch! I’m so exciteddd
    Day 17, May 12: About the same progress, I’m also working on walking in my backbend because I’ve always wanted to be able to do that!
    Day 18, May 15: As usual, I skipped the weekend, but yeah basically the same, I can do a standing backbend relatively well and I can still touch my head to the back of my feet in a sealstretch, which is cool! 😅
    Day 19, May 16: I can’t believe I’m almost finished with the challenge! I’m way more flexible now but I still can’t grab onto my leg with both arms in a backbend…my leg immediately starts badly cramping when I try and I don’t know why! 😂
    Day 20, May 17: I’VE FINISHED! I finally made it!! I’m so much more flexible now and I’m gonna keep doing this occasionally to keep it and work in my backbend, thank you sm for the support everyone!! ❤

    Anna, I can’t even express how happy I am with these stretches. 3 years ago, I started my cheerleading journey. I never thought I’d be able to be like the older girls doing flips and all those cool tricks in the air. After my coaches recommended your videos to me, it changed my whole cheerleading style. I used to never be able to do a bridge 3 years ago. If I did do my bridge, it looked horrible! I’ve been stretching everyday now and my cartwheels, hand stands, back bends, and kick overs look like a professional has taught me. And a professional did actually teach it. Her name is Anna McNulty. She has taught me so much in these past 3 years ❤

    Day 11: I’m getting soooo much closer to my backbend even than yesterday, and it feels so much less scary to fall into a backbend than it felt before, now i feel like I’m going to be ready soon to start attempting a backbend. These stretches are very effective on stretching out my back which is also helpful for slowly getting rid of my fear of backbends. Thank you soooo much Anna. You are extremely helpful and I will always support your videos and use them for help

    Finally a back stretching routine without any bridges!!! I have really serve shoulder issues which makes me not allowed to do any backbends because my shoulders will pop out of place, I used to have a really flexible back but after my injury I lost it :/ I’m really excited to gain it back!!

    (to note that i did gymnastics for four years and i lost my flexibility, so i may still have some of it)
    day 1: holy… its only day one and i can do a standing backbend with zero pain. this is incredible.
    day 2: my back is in pain, but it forces me to get better posture, i can now do a standing backbend and get up from it. my next goal is it be able to get a leaner backbend and to be able to kick over from it. i think this goal would take me around 2 or 3 days, but i will keep you updated!
    day 3: the video is starting to get way more easier. my back hurts way less now, im starting to get up from my backbends easier, and another goal i want to set for myself is that i want to be able to do a front walkover. i am going to start practicing on my mat.
    day 4: holy moly its so easy to do my backbend and getting up from it. whenever i got up from it, i used to need to step, but now i dont need to do that, and it looks much more neater.
    day 5: im so trustworthy of myself and almost not afraid of backbends. i think im gonna try practice my kick over within the next two days!
    day 6 and 7: rest days
    day 8: i attempted a backbend kickover right after that and i was able to do it!!! AHHHH!! IM SO PROUD OF MYSELF! next goal is to be able to do a back walkover within three days!
    day 9: rest day
    day 10: my back hurts a whole lot, but im getting better!
    days 11 and 12: rest days
    day 13: getting way better and back is starting to hurt less!

      Hey so i did these stretches for about like 3 days and nothing is sore is it because it’s working and I’m getting used too it?also Nothing really changed it still hurts too do a backbend should I find a bigger back stretching routine of hers or stay on this one because I really wanna be flexible one day but this is like the only thing that can get me flexible so it would mean a lot if u answered my question!

    I always had a problem with my back and my dream was to practice gymnastics it was tough but I did continue several days later my problem dissapeared and I could practice gymnastics with no pain. I'll try doing these excersices at home!Thanks for the tutorials and the tips!

    trying this because my back is stiff af
    day 1: ✅ all of the stretches were very hard and i struggled a lot and my back was sore afterwards
    day 2: ❌ to tired
    day 3: ❌
    day 4: ✅ was a little easier this time but the positions where u need to grab ur leg and arch are killing me 😭
    day 5: ✅ same as yesterday
    day 6: ✅ a tad bit easier
    Day 7: ✅ it’s definently getting easier and I can touch my feet to my head in seal stretch now

    Day 10: ✅
    Day 11: ❌ couldn’t stretch had a flight

I have tried doing this routine a few months ago and I tried tracking my progress like some many ppl have done, but I think I am going to try to do it again, because I really want to get my Needle and a teardrop backbend! that mite be biting off a little more than I can chew so yea!     I used to be super flexible back in 2019 but because of covid my back and body's gotten super stiff so after this (I did a full body work out before this) my back felt a little achy but so much better same for my legs, ill take photos now and I'll update in 20 days!

    I do dance and gymnastics and my back has decreased in flexibility for some reason but idk how or why because I am doing Anna McNulty’s stretches every day but this new stretch challenge I feel is going to help a lot:) Love you Anna💞

      You have to continually work at it, the longer you stop the more you lose. So make sure you are stretching every day. Even when you have time off from dance and gymnastics. Same thing goes for strength. Breaks will usually make you lose your flexibility unless you are doing it at home and regularly. Hope this helps!

      @@helenskating don’t push it. You never want it to hurt. Sore muscles are normal but not if you can’t stand up out of a chair. And you can always use things like biofreeze, tiger balm or icy hot for sore muscles. Baths with epsom salt are helpful too. But you should never be in so much pain that you need more than one or two days to rest. Also take your own time and pace, don’t compare yourself to Anna or your friend. Just compare yourself to yourself. Always aim to be better today than you were yesterday. You got this! 💚

    This was my 8th day doing this video it has helped a lot but it was a bit harder today because i did all of the advanced side but also I think I over did it yesterday by doing like 12 of annas videos yesterday most of them for flexibility and some of the workouts then I was practicing my splits a lot too hehe but tysm Anna you improved my flexibility a lot!

    Im gonna do this everyday for 1 month to see my progress! I used to be felxible (ish) but now I feel like I've lost majority of it and even simple streches hurt like crazy so let's see how this goes!

      I was able to touch my head to my but! Before I had average back flexibility, but I can only do this if I stretch a lot before hand. Congrats on you milestone!

    I know this video was 5 months ago, but I recently started this stretch and i lost my streak, now i am at 4 days again and it’s already helping me. I almost have my back Bend and i know this will help me learn to stand up from a bridge, which I can use for a front walkover. thank you so much Anna, I will definitely share my results when I am done.

    I am gonna start the 20 day strching tommorow and make a 20 day check list by putting the day in a square and writing the date as I go I'm going to put an X on the day that past and when I get to 20 I am going to practice my splits too!!!

    Omg! I'm so so so close to doing a cheststand!!!!!!!!I always wanted to do one!!! I can not even tell you how much you helped me!!! I follow your tutorials and I went from doing a bridge to almost a chest stand!!!! I've gotten the following things because of you: Oversplit, Scorpion, higher leg hold, Basiclly a cheststand, and probably much more!!!! I'm going to follow along too a middle splits tutorial after I write this! You have inspired me too become more flexible!!! Your one of my favourite youtubers!     hey yall during summer I am going to be trying to do this and a splits video everyday, Because I do gymnastics I just want more flexibility ( I will update everyday) For anyone who wants to know that splits video is by Anna to, it is called How to get splits fast! streches for splits flexability! Ps: the spilts video is very good it helped me get my splits and over splits. Yes=i did it No= i did not do it
    Day:1 yes,I didthis video, and the splits video. It felt good!
    day:2 Yes, I was so sore from day 1 but I did it! This video then the splits video! I can already feel my back getting more flexabile.
    Day 3: Yes, omg,( I got my splits all the way down and I can almost touch my feet in a backbend) I did it and this video.
