It's a testament to the skill of the actor. I mean, how do you come up with that? Maybe he asked Anthony Head to try speaking like he thinks Americans speak?
@@dlweiss I have listened to several British Doctor Who audiobooks where they have British voice actors trying to do an American accent... This was pretty spot-on.
It's like he spoke a quadruple negative or something. So, I think it basically probably tore a hole in the space-time continuum. But it's okay, because he's he's spike, and I'd forgive him for anything...😉🥰😆
Doomed was a great fun episode with the comedy between Spike and Xander hilarious. It's almost like the 'Odd Couple' the two of them in the basement is a sitcom I would pay to watch. The last part when Spike gets recognised by Riley and tries to put on an American accent was hilarious, and then trying to get Willow and Xander to go out with him and try and kill something, 'oh come on', great comedy.
FYI theres a fantastic spoiler-free Buffy rewatch podcast called Buffering, they have some cast interviews, and since one of the hosts is a musician every recap has an original song about the episode. ❤
Listen, 4x12 is low-key one of my favorites. I love Ethan Rayne (and his episodes Halloween from season 2 and Band Candy from season 3). I love Giles. The character is in a rut and he is feeling left out. Anthony Stewart Head is very funny. And, I *LOVE* the dumb/great (or great/dumb) moment: -"I thought you were a myth." - "Well, you were myth-taken" Quite possibly the most Buffy line from Buffy. Somehow cringe and charming at the same time.
I think 411 is intended to get you onboard the Buffy/Riley train before he's an official regular. These two eps definitely emphasize the comedy focus of this season-- Spike and Giles are beyond hilarious 😂
I can only imagine it was. I lived my whole life in the Northeast and I remember being taught about it as a child. Even though the only time I ever heard about an earthquake even close to my area it was barely enough to register on the scale, and mild enough that people were like "No! Seriously? We had 1? How did I miss it?"
His English accent is atrociously bad. But I give him the Dick van Dyke pass, where the actor is so endearing, and the effort is clear, that I try to let it slide. I can’t unhear it though. It’s ear-splitting.
Buffy and Agatha in the same day, yeah! Two good episodes with lots of humor: Spike trying to stake himself and Demon Giles chasing the fishwife are favorites.
Well, Anya isn't evil now. Arguably. I don't see a problem with keeping demons who are completely evil, like Spike, under lock and key. Of course, you run into trouble of deciding who is evil and who isn't, but Buffy dealt with that problem admirably so far - remember that demon who tried to sell her Books of Ascention? With the exception of Spike, who is leashed, but definitely evil, she seems to be doing fine.
You have to wonder...the second that Buffy learns who Riley is...why didn't she stake Spike? The ONLY reason for sparing him was information on the commandos.(I love Spike, but...) Notice that Buffy was, without hesitation, leaping headfirst into Hell. With zero expectation of coming back. Riley's presence literally saved her life. Also...Ethan Rayne shouldn't be so cocky about The Slayer not touching him. Buffy has killed three humans involved in the Black Arts, and gutted Faith. As The Slayer, she absolutely has the right and Duty of summary execution for supernatural crimes. He has attempted to engineer mass murder twice(once of infants), tried to feed her to Eyghon and turned Giles into a demon. Just put a little muscle behind that letter opener.
Ethan wasn't around for 4 seasons, he was introduced in season 2. Well, presumably he existed before, but that goes back for much longer than four seasons.
Cody! As a french canadian I really appreciate that you learned some french expressions! but you really did butchered 'Joie de Vivre' ahah sorry. Especially the 'vivre' part, which is prononced more like Veev
It was Rayne as a chaos sorcerer with Giles and his black magic background. This was chaos sir lol and chaos is he does disruptive stuff just if the heck of it using dark magic . The 314 and government do not utilize magic only technology , which is the big theme right now man vs nature and man vs the supernatural . I love Ethan I wish we had more of the chaos magician and his black magic days with Giles the ripper before he accepted his destiny as a watcher.
Happy "Buffy, the Vampire Slayer" Thursday evening with Cody and Sergio! 😊 Two really good episodes for this week. Episode 4x11: The Scooby Gang heads back to the old high school to stop another apocalypse. And Spike finds out that he can fight demons even with the chip. Episode 4x12: An old friend visits Giles. Looking forward to the next reactions. 😊
i think we can assume buffy consented to being outed before riley told walsh. she did go with him to meet here with no signs of her being blindsided or annoyed at her knowing.
Truth is out. Earthquake! Spike/Xander duo is pure comedy! Spike’s outfit 😂 Percy! How dare you. We were rooting for you. Not him disrespecting Willow. Spike is going through it. Buffy’s fight choreography keeps getting better 🔥 Relationship drama. Not Giles getting attacked! The old high school. Spike taking the fight to the demons, but throwing it into the Hellmouth 😂 Buffy diving into the hellmouth! Excuse me?!! Spike’s fake accent 💀 His crime fighting spiel at the end 😂 Surprise party! Poor Giles is so out of the loop. Spike moving out, with Xander’s radio 😂 She’s telling the professor she’s the slayer? 😳 Not her coming for Giles in her psychoanalysis 😭 Giles was so betrayed that Spike even knew before him. Ethan’s back. The evil monologue & Giles immediately spotting him 😂 Yes Buffy showing Riley how it’s done 🙌🏼 Drunk Giles! “I’m twice the man she is” 😂 Willow & Tara doing magic together. Demon Giles?!! Oh no not them not understanding demon Giles. Spike helping Giles. I need more of this duo. Giles being petty scaring Maggie 😂💀 Giles bribing Spike. Spike’s getaway driving! Buffy & Giles heart to heart after changing back. What’s in 314? 🤔 Totally slaying these reactions guys! 🖤
Another almost too comedic episode in A New Man, but it was fun especially where Giles chases Walsh down the street. Interesting juxtaposition with Giles having to seek the help of Spike. The Xander, Spike in the basement part painfully funny again. The body swops, personality swops, etc a current theme throughout the whole series for lots of characters. The interminable Ethan Rayne back again causing havoc. A decent little episode and great fun.
4x11 Best lines in the episode are, ""Again! Oh, as usual, dear." and "Really! You're not just saying that." 4x12 I agree with Giles in that Buffy needs a phone for the types of situations I don't think she should be rolling her eyes over AKA assuming she told Giles about The Initiative and when finding out, Riley was still more important. Both: On 4x12's comment I especially agree considering Riley doesn't know how to not say Buffy is "stupid and "self-involved." So much for learning something as the TA of world renowned Phychologist. Even if he isn't learning something from her, that is an obvious don't do it just because she said no to dating you and you can't understand the reasons. There were other things he could have said, besides name-calling, to get his point across.
whats funny is james marsters is american, his british accent he learned from anthony head and so watching him pretend to be british pretending to be american is hilarious

I love when James Marsters does "British Guy doing a Bad American Accent" at 17:38 - since he's actually American in real life.
Just commented the same thing. 😅😄
I was about to comment this too 😂

Hah. To get two Horror Bandwagon videos in a day. What blessed times we're living in.
Ethan is not a demon. He's just a guy who likes to play with evil and chaos.
Demon Giles chasing Walsh is great. I wish it lasted longer.
Ethan Rayne is my favourite recurring character, criminally underused.
@@Gaydunaway the actor was also a reoccurring Minbari alien on Babylon 5.
He died not long after, I believe. Tragic. :(

Myth line is my 2nd fav behind another one in this episode where Riley asks what Buffy is and she says 'Capricorn on the cusp of Aquarius, you?'
“Scythe matters”
- _All men in the room look blankly._
Cody “she’s no Giles!” Exactly! Only Giles’s tells us what to do! 😂
“Just Kidding!” Two of my favorite words in the whole show 🤣
Buffy Thursday's are the BEST THURSDAYS!!! 🖤🖤🖤

Doorway tip: I went to elementary school in California and standing in a doorway for earthquakes was drilled into us.

Even though the only time I ever heard about an earthquake even close to my area it was barely enough to register on the scale, and mild enough that people were like "No! Seriously? We had 1? A lot of fans attribute Forrest’s general disdain for Buffy as being because Forrest himself has feelings for Riley.
It's great that Spike takes on a fake American accent which also sounds fake. James is an American and not British. 👌
His English accent is atrociously bad. But I give him the Dick van Dyke pass, where the actor is so endearing, and the effort is clear, that I try to let it slide.
I can’t unhear it though. It’s ear-splitting.
Giles is like Buffy's Step/God father. Not official but, with how much they care about and worry about each other it's thought of as that.
I mean, he was going to walk her down thee aisle even though her actual father is still alive. So yeah lol
8:40
I love how whenever a scene like that happens they say that 💀
If I remember right, Emma Caulfield changed her hair every episode. no spoiler but there is a joke about it in the future.
Buffy and Agatha in the same day, yeah! Two good episodes with lots of humor: Spike trying to stake himself and Demon Giles chasing the fishwife are favorites.
I like Spike working out that even though he can't physically hurt people, he can still do so psychologically
I love how Riley has the Balls poster, and Buffy has the Chocolate poster lol they are so random i love them
Love Spike.
I don't think Spike remembers Riley. But with Riley's fashion sense, it's kinda obvious who he is.
17:55 the poster says "Balls" at the top.
The bottom says "only two count".
I love Spike so much. He is my favorite character in the franchise.
Well, Anya isn't evil now. Arguably. I don't see a problem with keeping demons who are completely evil, like Spike, under lock and key. Just to be clear Xander has killed more vampires/demons 😂🤣
Giles coming back in because he heard Ethan monologuing is cuttong edge genius shit
In this episode, a guy starts feeling insecure when he learns his new girlfriend has a high body count.
Accurate!
I always liked the Initiative science Vs Buffy and the more "primitive" methods. It's nice seeing the Slayer expanded to more than the demon world.
Episode 12 one of my faves too funny and really puts giles as buffys father figure though he's always been. ❤ and more love for spike
Spike in that Hawaiian shirt! ❤ finally finding his purpose
