Not mentioned is the nearly 500,000,000 firearms in its citizens hands, and over 1 Trillion rounds of ammo. Making it the largest military in the world, on its own unique territories. In fact, its citizens possess more small arms ammo, than the US military.

well, our Navy and Air force are huge. And I would agee that our Army and Marine ground troops are the best trained standard army the world has ever seen, but our ground forces would be destroyed if we got locked in a land war. Ground war, in general, should be long over and Russia is showing why right now. Its brutal and almost entirely unpredictable. In the air and the sea, it does not matter how hard you want to fight, technology will win every time. However, on the ground it is a different story. The slower pace, the use of cover and maneuvers, the fact destroying the vehicles doesn't mean the fight is over, and the role morale can play in ground combat means that a ground war is a crap shoot at best. Don't give the enemy a chance to make martyrs, don't give the people of the enemy reason to hate your people because of brutal ground war, and most importantly don't hand the enemy an opportunity to steal a win when you should only ever offer the opportunity to surrender.

Zach, the US internment camps were resorts compared to the death camps Japan had across Asia, in China, the Philippines, Indonesia etc.. were they starved, tortured and killed the various Asian people, Dutch, English French, Australian and Americans. Try looking online, Asia was filled with thousands of those death camps. There are photos online of people including children who were little more than skeletons. Google to read about “comfort women” Asian women forced into sex slavery by the Japanese. I disagree with internment camps but Roosevelt also interred German and Italian immigrants and stated that there had been Japanese, German and Italian immigrants whose loyalty lay not with the country that gave them a home but with their former countries. They were well fed, housed in safe and good conditions and received health care, not one of them was thin.

Several points I want to bring up about the US population.
First, we have a good population of vets. So when invading homeland USA, you will be fighting Ex-military.
Next to Ex-military who's your best beat for a soldier? Countries have known this answer since WW2 or before. The answer is hunters. They're use to walking around the woods stalking, tracking and shooting their prey. Hunting in the US is a multi billion dollar business. They have the camo clothes and gear for going out in the woods. They have the skills. Most hunters have several guns for different types of hunting. High powered bolt action rifles with scopes. Semi auto rifles etc. They are use to sitting and waiting. Now throw in the mix that they are fighting for their homes and lives. A group of hunters in an area they hunt would wreck havoc on any invading army. There high powered deer rifles will become sniper rifles. There semi auto rifles will be used to engage in infantry and they have home field advantage.
The some citizens of the US own and train with their firearms. It's not like a store clerk walks into a gun store and picks up a pocket gun or you are handing out guns to citizens that have never fired one (which could happen in the US). Those citizens, that own guns, are going to be a nightmare for any invading army.

New data - Whoever did the VS video apparently never heard of "Star Wars". We now have so many of the new generation laser space weapons that we have had to open a new military branch to deal with it. Those particular weapons are now small enough to be placed on ships also and they've tested very well meaning that China won't be overwhelming our defense systems quite so easily. We also have "invisible tanks" now (2 types) new and improved submarines and stuff I can't even tell you because I don't think I would like military prisons. One of my favorite videos is when Trump took office and was briefed by the joint chiefs about American Military Capabilities. (I liked Trump, if you don't I don't care.) We would go for the oil but we would also use our vast inventory of long range conventional missles to wipe out as many military targets as posible first and lets not forget history proves that when faced with insurmountable odds like japan in ww2 we can do things like fire bombing campaigns which killed more than the 2 nukes we dropped , and besides even hitler had allies at first in russia and italy

Stopping a war to save money does not mean we were defeated. All these wars people claim the US lost lasted as long as they did due to wanting little civilian casualties or other similar reasons. The US could have just sent nothing but bombs and missiles to end the war if limiting casualties wasn’t important. And against something like the US vs The World, I doubt much cate would be given to civilians so you can expect them to go all out for once.

Remember though. We appear to be a nation full of so many different views and political beliefs that we could not possibly agree on anything. That is not really the case. After the 9/11 attacks everyone and I mean EVERYONE was pissed. People who had never considered military careers we signing up just to get a chance to hit back. I knew guys that quit their jobs to travel to NY City to volunteer in the cleanup. 24*7 there was a feeling of Fury in the air. Most people know how proud Americans are of their country. That is what makes us a special kind of dangerous when crossed.

    • @h.s.6269
      @h.s.6269 2 ปีที่แล้ว +6

Those years right after were certainly something. There was a tangible drive and unity that fucking EVERYONE felt. That would play a huge factor in this scenario, whether or not the American people felt it justified and unavoidable.
Cause I'd bet everything that if it sparked the same vibe that 9/11 did, we would go all WW mode again and turn as much work force as possible to supporting the effort. In a time where women didn't work (ww2, not 9/11) they dropped everything and worked overtime in factories happily and went home to tend community gardens to feed themselves and their area. For 9/11 so, so many people volunteered and those who didn't sent many care packages specifically to loved ones who did join and another package to be distributed to the general force.
The time after 9/11 really was an interesting time to say the least. You could meet a perfect stranger and still feel bonded as Americans and help them out. Patriotism, compassion, and yes a thirst for revenge was our unifying drive. I miss the pride and compassion of those times, not the tragedy that led to it all though, that kind of trauma shook everyone to the core, which I assume would be similar in the scenario here.

One fact this doesn't take into account. The US has the largest oil reserve on the planet estimated to be somewhere between 3-9 TRILLION barrels worth of oil. The original estimates were 3 trillion, but the latest numbers suggest it is closer to 9 trillion. As for how much of that is recoverable, about 20%-30% using modern technology. So anywhere from 900 billion to 3 trillion barrels of recoverable oil.
Edit: This is an oil reserve that nobody has tried to access yet because of how deep it is and how difficult it will be to extract that oil. Of course, the real problem here is that they completely ignored South Ameria as they don't really have any military capabilities, but what they do have is OIL and if the world elected to exploit that and then use their good submarines to scout a safe path from Brazil to Europe, small amount of oil from South America could get through the US blockade.
Oh, and OPEC stands for the "Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries"

and we could easily just buck up and invest in wind, nuclear and solar energy. become entirely oil-independent within our own borders for energy. Then just keep the electric car ball rolling and leave everbody in the dust as far as dependence on other nations. leveraging us even further on the world stage. imagine if we got to sell our oil almost entirely. imagine if our solar and wind fields were in the central US and nearly impenetrable to foreign attack.. Kansas alone could house enough wind turbines to power half of America. Wind alley could produce enough electricity to keep every North American nation powered 24/7, 365. with some to spare.... the wind doesnt fully go away across a 1500 mile stretch of land. and its not ever going away.

I know we have always been taught to fight a defense battle, but our plan B is lethal beyond words. We have so many weapons in secret, in places like area 51 and elsewhere, the public and our enemies would be shocked. The day a war like this would happen is so small it's safe to say it would not happen at all. Everyone in the world understands the United States is a sleeping giant best left alone. Yes,the USA & Britain are longtime friends/allies and we have no desire to dominate any other country. Honestly,we have enough problems here. I think our military objectives were shaped by WW II. My father, who served in the Pacific in the Navy always said we had to conquer the Japanese island by island at a great cost of life.

Also a very interesting point!!! Quite a few would be like fuck that, let's be friends again, especially if they were nations we had previously considered sister nations like Canada and Britain. Australia is pretty close too imo, but idk current climate with all the things going on there and the power struggles between them and china.

Why would they? The US has obviously screwed up so badly that they have alienated themselves that is what the scenario is alluding to. No nation would capitulate in this circumstance.

As Teddy Roosevelt (my favorite US President) said, "Speak softly and carry a big stick." We rarely want to use that big stick, but we have it if we must. We've not always used our military in the most ideal way, but we try to use it judiciously. BTW, you guys should check out a video about President Theodore (Teddy) Roosevelt (perhaps from the Biographics channel, for example). Fascinating guy who had quite an amazing life.
