I've seen Deerhunter twice. The first time, Bradford held my hand throughout the first song of the set and at the end of the show, he made me jump up to grab a setlist. Best day ever.
I’ve seen them live in smaller venues many times and I’ve never heard Lockett project his voice as he does here. So great to hear him! Also wanted to mention that they never rocked harder than on the Monomania tour, this show being a testament to that.
At about 20:33 Lockett misses the beginning of the iconic run, Bradford notices and fills in two notes before Lockett gets back into it and then immediately stops. It makes it seem as if it was intentional. Having played live music for 15 years this tiny improvisation really demonstrates that Deerhunter, though not being known for being tight OR untight (ie it's just a neutral afterthought), are actually quite tight. These subtleties only result from, aside from natural talent and having played said instrument for at least ten minutes, having a genuine chemistry with the other band members. It's cool.
Man! Good times starting in 2007 discovering Deerhunter during my high school and college years. Miss it, time flies but still got all these great memories.
2007 - 2013 their productivity was insane: 2007 - Cryptograms, Fluorescent Grey 2008 - Microcastle, Weird Era Cont., Let the Blind Lead Those Who Can See But Cannot Feel 2009 - The Floodlight Collective, Logos, Rainwater Cassette Exchange 2010 - Halcyon Digest 2011 - Parallax 2012 - Spooky Action at a Distance 2013 - Monomania and I hate to admit it, but I kinda took it for granted. But still, what a time to be alive and what amazing memories as you said.
This was my first Primavera and 2nd and 3rd time seeing Deerhunter(they played twice because Band of Horses pulled out) and it was one of the best weekends, music wise,I've ever had. Thanks for coming to my Ted Talk.
I was there. With Tooky. He swore at a man. I was hammered so I just stared at Bradford in his night gown. And someone told me Lockett plays aTelstar. Fucking great band though.
inaccurate. they didn't have 16:9 aspect ratio in 1991 everything was in 4:3 other than 16millametre which it clearly isn't. you'd have been more accurate had you said 2007, which is when the majority of digital recording equipment went widescreen. FYI
why does locketts voice sound so squeaky sometimes? the whole mix actually sounds a little messy to me... but apart from that great performance! thanks for the concert :)

I love this Monomania "era" of Deerhunter. Bradford rocking extra hard and looking scary. Moses with the hood. This is amazing.
Yes, I love too. It's one of my favourite lives of Deerhunter.
This was the last time rock and roll existed. Fucking sick.
Absolutly and Locket with long hair rocking the crowd

oopsadaze check ur ears
Thank YOU
@@oopsadaze it’s like AC/DC, although all of their songs sound the same, that doesn’t necessarily mean they’re bad
@@ozika2 that's the case for AC/DC. in the case of Deerhunter, somebody needs to have their ears checked.

I got his water bottle lol
my friend got his sweaty towel
Last time I saw them he gave the setlist himself ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
I had a similar interaction. He hugged me and then handed me the setlist after the lights went up. What a gentle soul.
when i saw them, Bradford gave me a reach around and then in the encore, did Sudoko with me
Sleepwalking such an underrated song. One of my favs
Yes
man the way this was recorded looks so vintage and cool
Seen these dudes live more times than I can count. Always great.
Simply blessed!

Wow yeah Lockett is like a legit second frontman here

Anyone scope the pedals on Bradford's board? I spotted a DL4, but curious about the others.
Some of these) equipboard.com/pros/bradford-cox/gear/effects-pedals#effects-pedals
10:40 Spencer Tweedy joined Bradford's band??? WOW😝
Why is this 2013 video filmed in 1994 and released in 2020?
Bloody good question that is. They are damned good!
The video quality looks more like 2003 or, hell, maybe even 1993. But the performance is tops.

I'll be asleep by then... will it be here tomorrow?
Yes it will
That's only the "premiere"
Why did it take 7 years?
A pandemic was what it took :)
Let's wear a dress and welcome the goat god
monomania is insane here
Set List: 1. Coronado

"Coronado" was the first song? I thought the playlist would be: www.setlist.fm/setlist/deerhunter/2013/parc-del-forum-barcelona-spain-13d9a101.html
why does this look like it was recorded in 1991?, amazing set anyways
