Times are different. I just bought that same HK, Accept mine came with three magazines. two 12 and the 15 rounder. The new 15 round magazines are the exact same size as that 13 round mag. That's the update. I got night sites and the button release and optic cut all for $600 bucks. Completely accurate and much softer shooting than my micro 9's... don't ever drop that Sig, You'll regret it
I’m a huge Sig fanatic. I love their old stuff…HOWEVER, I gotta say this VP9SK is the exception to the rule. It’s the one “other” pistol I would rate every bit as good as anything that Sig brings to the table. I am a 30 yr police veteran and have studied and shot many types of weapons and I research the heck out of anything I actually buy and carry. This HK VP9SK is the “real” deal. Add a 15 round mag and it’s a great compact/carry option, pop in the short mag and it a subcompact (somewhat-haha). It has the best egos of any gun-PERIOD. And it’s hands down the best looking striker fire, along with the HKP30SK…although the striker fire platform is more efficient and faster than a pistol that uses a hammer in a rapid fire situation. If I had to pick one of these two guns you compare…as much as I would like to pick the Sig P320 Xcompact, I would choose the HK VP9subcompact….but only by the narrowest of margins. Great video my friend.
Ultimately, it's what gun feels best in your hand. I have several Sigs and love them all..... my current EDC is a Taurus, but will soon be adding to my Sig "family".
I like the fact that you have grip length options with the sk. If I’m worrying about printing then I use the flush fit 10. I usually carry with the 13. You can also get a 15 now as well.
I love my 320x compact. It’s a great gun. It shoots like a dream it molds to the hand like it’s your own appendage. I can’t say enough good things about it. With that being said the VP9sk has replaced it. This HK is on another level.
Been an unapologetic Glock Fan Boy since the early 90’s, but the X Compact’s ergos got me considering dipping my toes in the Sig pool. Nice review, new sub. Oh and one more thing.... GO ARMY! Hooah!!!🇺🇸
I like the Xcompact so much, I bought 2. Our agency switched from P226 to XCarry and I had to try all the new X series guns. Didnt like the P320 prior to the X series though. Since then, I have purchased an Xcompact, RXP Xcompact, X5 legion and now I carry everywhere my Thumb Safety P365. I still have a couple Glocks for GSSF but my go to is my XCompact, hands down. Best grip, recoil, accuracy, sights out there in a sub $600 gun. Go Army!!!! Keep up the good work Non-Tac
I like the Sigs, but I love the VP9sk. I have medium sized hands and ergos are great on the HK. I also like that it is NOT a true subcompact, but small enough for CC and I don't feel like I'm missing a full size. My trigger is butter smooth and I have off loaded all my clunky Glocks in favor of the HK. IMHO, the VP9sk is versatile enough to be both a comfortable near full size shooter and a better CC than a true sub compact.
The H&K VP9SK was my main concealed carry pistol and I still love it however, the Sig P320 X-Compact has replaced it. Prices vary quite a lot. I've seen them sell for as much as $680.00. My Sig Elite dealer has them (when they can get them) for $599.99, the same price as I paid for my Sig P320 M18. Thanks for the great review!
Times have changed. When I served you could find gun sales at the Rod and Gun Club on base. Now I can go into my local Exchange and found as many gun sales as a gun store downtown.
I own both . I carry the vp9sk with the 13rd magazine. I found a nice holster for my X Compact by Odin. I prefer the X compact, but to be truthful. I fell in love with the Sig p365 with the 12rd magazine and I just ordered the 15rd magazine.
@@GNJ1118 I got the #P365 in April . Once I had put enough rounds through it ,that I felt safe with it I haven't carried any of my other guns. I'm carrying 12 + 1 of 9mm and it's so Comfortable , I carry in the house. You can't beat it.
I changed out my trigger on my SIG-P320 Compact and changed it’s frame to an X-Compact frame. I get a slightly longer slide and barrel and the advantages the X-frame gives me.
I appreciate this review as these to firearms, the Sig p320x and the VP9sk are exactly the two guns I’m considering for my next purchase as I downsize my carry pistol from .40 s&w to 9mm. Currently I’m carrying an XD mod2.
I have a VP9 SK on order and excited to get one. My primary EDC is a G26 with x-grip from my G19. I have the P320 RXP xcompact but seldom carry it. Very good video, I'm looking forward to catching your other videos
Great review-I’m looking at the Sig, already have the VP9SK, I appreciate your comparison and I think you’ve sold me on the xcompact. Keep up the good work!
I bought the Sig p320 X Compact a few months back and I absolutely love it! I’m 6’2” and about 250lbs and like you, I love this as a concealed carry option. I’ve been in the market for a second carry pistol but nothing seems to match the feel, accuracy and design of the Sig. Great vid 👍🏾
XCompact is my next carry. Summer is either 365 or my Shield 2.0. Winter is the P229 or the 19. I have a buddy that has a 320 X Compact and after shooting I have to have one. Nice job with the video..
Very thorough analysis - totally agree with your choice sir! I love my P320's (all 5 of them) but especially the XCompact and XFive. Thanks for the video!
Right at the start of this pandemic I had been looking for a CZ P-01 to no avail, and ended up holding a VP9SK at my local gun range and bought it on the spot. The paddle mag release is different but I don't mind it. The stock night sights were not very good IMO so I replaced 'em with some Night Fision sights. Otherwise, the ergos are great, it looks great, it's accurate and reliable, and the trigger is very good for a striker-fired pistol. I still want that CZ but I am very happy I acquired the HK.
Great review and very knowledgeable. How you do not have more subscribers baffles me. For what its worth you gained one more subscriber in me and will refer people your way. Thanks for the review and keep them coming.
I really like the VP9sk... But my stubby thumb rides right directly on the slide stop/release when I place a proper grip on the pistol... you can forget about the slide ever looking back on the last round. This is not a problem with the 320 series. I am pretty much a Glock guy, but I’m making the switch to the 320 series. Already using the 365.
I have an HK VP9SK and found it just slightly chunky for concealed carry Appendix. So I started looking at the P365. 12+1 in a super small form factor is very appealing, The X Compact however is on my radar but I can't quite see it being much easier to carry concealed than the VP9SK. Dunno. I will say I still find the paddle style Mag release bars slower than Mag release buttons. So that's a plus for the X Compact.
I agree Xcompact is a great carry size. Paired with the 365XL I'm covered for all carry occasions. I prefer an optic so I run one in both carry guns. The night carry is the Xcompact with an Plight PL mini2 light mounted. Great comparison video.
Getting the 320 XCompact this weekend, I also have the XCarry, which feels great. I shoot the Sigs exceptionally well and honestly if these two new ones are as good or better shooting than the Glocks I have I could be getting rid of some more Glocks maybe.
Fitness and Firearms I agree, Glock’s are undeniably reliable but for me personally I like the ergonomics of the Sig P320 and the X Carry which I shoot a lot better than Glock
You did a nice job with the specifics. Would have loved to seen the groupings of each pistol to see which one is more accurate with your shooting style and choice of ammo.
Great review. I agree the 320X Compact is the best option if you want a double stack. It’s very accurate for the size. I wish they made a Legion in the compact too....
I just got the X Compact and impress with the way it feels, haven't shot it yet. I have the VP9SK and I really like it because of the ergos, trigger etc. Both of these firearms are great because of their size, capacity and decent triggers.
I haven't shot the SIG X compact however I EDC the HK VP9SK and in my opinion is a bit snappy so I'm practicing more to get a mre controlled grip but I'm accurately putting ronds on target however I'd like to tighten those groups up within two inches in the nine at fifteen yards, I believe I can do that with the VP9SK. I'd purchased a 320 AXG com and looking forward to some range time with that pistol as well. Ill be glad to subscribe to your channel so here we go 🤜🤛🇺🇸
Great review! I have been debating between the two and probably will go with the P320 X-Compact first and still purchase the HK VP9SK . I currently carry Glocks and I want to switch up.
Great video and perfect timing for myself. Larger sized person and have been carrying vp9sk and am also looking to make change to p320 x compact. Renting one this weekend and will make decision. Your informative video was very helpful.
First time I catch one of your reviews and definitely appreciated the informative & incisive review. Love my P30SK and have started to seriously consider the Sig P320 XCompact. Every review on YT has echoed your assessment. Thanks for the info. Subscribed!
I really appreciate your well thought out, informative review of these 2 firearms. I'm agonizing over which one I really want (or p365xl). I'm leaning toward the xCompact, but I do like the way the VP9sk feels in the hand. I still haven't fired either, but I have a Sig p320 x-5 and absolutely love it. Thanks again for helping me decide, my friend :)
The ability to get your hand deep in the grip of the HK, VS the higher bore axis of the Sig is a big factor for me. I used to have a sig p220 equinox and a sig p229, and they were great, but I hated the high note axis (also didn’t like the da/sa). My agency issues the Glock 22 gen 4, so I had a decade of primarily using Glocks, which have a lower axis which just fees better. The HK, has a deep cut out to allow your hand to really get up under that slide which often translates to slightly better control and an overall better feel. Between the two in this video, I’d choose the HK. Many well-known shooters via TH-cam and other than that, have been taking to the HK VP9 over all else. The ergonomics on the HK are second to none. I ended up selling all of my Sigs and went with other makes. Sigs are great, don’t get me wrong. But the one in this video, in my opinion, is not on the same level as other Sigs like the P220/P226/P229. It feels somehow less quality than other Sigs. As for the HK, the trigger is great. Many say it gets better after a couple hundred rounds. The red indicator on the back is a bit unnecessary. The VP9sk would be ideal for me for a concealment firearm. It would be cool if they made it in .40! Good video man! Thanks.
I carry the VP9 full size without a problem in the cooler months. I’m 6-0, 250 (non fatty). Shorts and T shirt takes creativity. Considering a Ruger LCP Max for hot weather.
The 1911 "flat" rear grip is a huge plus on the x but the ambi slide release is kinda goofy with how far they both extend. Sig 365 xl with icarus grip module for CC is a champ. Great video!
Good comparison. I’ve had a few VP9s and a VP9sk. Great shooting pistols. I’ve owned a P320 SC and liked it a lot. It’s a very hard choice since I’m most accurate with any of the VP9 series pistols. I have a used but great condition P320 X Compact on layaway to be a home protection option. My current best carry option is the P365 and next up is the Glock 29 in 10mm.
Thanks for the comparison review. I however like the sig p365 cause of its smaller size and 10 round capacity. The sig x while a great gun is just a little too bulky for my carry. Keep up the good reviews.
Very good points and comparisons. I would also put the Glock 48 right up there with top concealed carry pistols with the 15-rd Shield Arms mags. While it may be a bit longer in slide that the guns you compared, its single-stack slimness I think gives it an edge over all of them in how nicely it tucks away...and then again with those 15-rd mags. Sig P365XL being along those lines as well.
Like your review. I have not been able to shoot the Sig but have the HK VP9 sk which is my wife carry gun. I like the VP9 sk and have bought the full size as well. But my go to gun and my carry gun is the CZ P10 s, which is very comparable to thr sk in size. I like the trigger on the CZ better though. Again great vid.
I really wanted you to say VP9sk was going to be your choice. I have a P226 and P220, both Legion series and love them. The flat face triggers are so good! I’ve never owned a H&K and thought this would be the one. Guess I’m gonna be a Sig fan boy as the X-Compact looks like the newest addition! Thanks for the review.
Sam Brown no, u really need to get an h&k. For one, its an h&k. The name is alone is quality. The sk is a great gun. Everyone is different of course and has their opinion. The only Sig I would want to own personally is the new legion. I own the vp9sk and vp9 tactical. My two favorite pistols period.
@@haroldhernandez2940 I found it was just to small for my hands an I just didn't shoot well with it. I gave it to my wife. Nice jump up from her Sig 380. An she is shooting really well with it.
my VP9SK was the LE and it came with 3 Mags and Tritium night sights. It was around $700. The non LE version wasn't much cheaper, but I bought it during the COVID19 panic buying period. It was important to me to get the gun I wanted before it was not available.
I have both of these guns with tritium night sights on both. I also installed and MCarbo trigger spring kit with a 3.15 lb pull….I don’t know….I would have to give my vote to the HK…and that’s saying a lot, because I love Sig and have over a dozen signs across many calibers. That HK is the best striker fired pistol out there. But with that said, the Xcompact is right there with it and of course the 365 9mm is the best CCW of all time. I’m a retired 31 yr police officer and speaking with much experience carrying many different types of pistols over the years since 1988.
I paid $569 for my VP9SK and $599 for my Xcompact. They are almost the same size and weight to me when carrying them yet the Sig holds 5 more rounds. I have a 13 & 15 round mag for the HK but why bother? Also my HK doesn't have night sites or an optics plate. The next VP model needs to step its game up
I dont own the HK but I have shot it against my P320 RXP Compact Xcarry. I was more accurate with the HK (only by an inch or so in groupings). I felt the HK might have been less snappier. I still carry my sig and I have since tightened up my groups at 5, 7, 10 and 15 yards. Great video (I know im a little late), just sub'd.
+Non-Tactical Shooter good review. I have the Xcompact but have not fired it yet. The with of the slide catch is very uncomfortable for me and not sure I want to retrain my grip to accommodate for this. Looking at a P30sk at this time. Just subscribed..

I’m in the process of buying a new carry gun and it’s come down to these 2. Thank you for making this awesome video and I’m going for the sig.
I just bought the sig x compact and it is awesome. But my vpsk just feels and shoots little better

Good review! I am a Glock guy but I do love my 320 X-compact! I have an HK P30SK as well, light LEM trigger but prefer the 320X Compact over it.
I have a p30sk light lem as well. I'm looking to replace it with the p320 x compact. What are your thoughts so far? I wish HK would do something new.
+JustinHEMI why do you prefer the Xcompact over the P30sk? I have the Xcompact and looking at a P30sk with Grayguns spring kit. Thank you.
The 1911 "flat" rear grip is a huge plus on the x but the ambi slide release is kinda goofy with how far they both extend. Sig 365 xl with icarus grip module for CC is a champ. Great video!
Great video! I already have the SK but know you make me think about the 320. Keep with the good work!! 👊🏻
Good video. Carry the X-compact now. It's a great pistol. Considering switching to the p30sk for the DA/SA and hammer.
Great review bro. Xcompact is my next buy.
good video. I own the HK VP9SK and love it. Sig looks nice maybe I'll own both!
Got a new sub. I'm also thinking about picking up a X compact.
Thank you for watching and subscribing. Hope you enjoy it. I love mine. Happy new year.
Thanks for the comparison review. I however like the sig p365 cause of its smaller size and 10 round capacity. The sig x while a great gun is just a little too bulky for my carry. Keep up the good reviews.
Great video keep the good job, i cant wait to buy my xcompact . 🙌🏻
Thank you
I really wanted you to say VP9sk was going to be your choice.
Great review! And God Bless you as well!
I have the VP9SK and I absolutely love it and I am really accurate with it. Been looking that the X and still thinking about it
This a big brotha and if he not comfortable carrying a VP9 my ass sure won't be
Great comparison of 2 great firearms. What kind of setup do you use to carry the x-compact?
Excellent video brother. Very helpful.
Great job on this review two of my favorite pistols.
Coming from you I feel blessed and appreciate it. Thanks for watching and subscribing.
I recently got the P320 X compact. I love it’s now my conceal carry during the winter months. My P365 will be for the summer.
@@haroldhernandez2940 I found it was just to small for my hands an I just didn't shoot well with it. I gave it to my wife. Nice jump up from her Sig 380. An she is shooting really well with it.
Amazing review. Congratulations
Ouch on that price.
$499 for the Vp9sk at Shoot Straight.
my VP9SK was the LE and it came with 3 Mags and Tritium night sights. It was around $700. The non LE version wasn't much cheaper, but I bought it during the COVID19 panic buying period. It was important to me to get the gun I wanted before it was not available.
I’d buy both but it’s impossible to find either!
The next VP model needs to step its game up
Great review love my x compact also thank you Sir
Nice presentation. Well done.
Thanks, you helped me decide.
Great review....
Great video BRO 👍👍👍
+Non-Tactical Shooter good review. I have the Xcompact but have not fired it yet. The with of the slide catch is very uncomfortable for me and not sure I want to retrain my grip to accommodate for this. Looking at a P30sk at this time. Just subscribed..
Very nice review, excellent conclusion 👍👍✝
Compact with the x carry grip module is the bet ay to go
