Subscribed. I'm a big fan of the early nfs games as they got me into cars
Snomy Ridge looks like Brazil map and Landstrasse looks like a squirrel.
I absolutely loved and grew up with the PC release and played it a lot. It was the first game I had played with damage model and breakable lights. One of the things that really got me was the different liveries for the police cars and the fact that every car had a unique lighting setup with its own flash patterns that didn't match the other cars, something they didn't have before, and really haven't done since then. I've modded so many cars into this game in the past, it was a blast, I need to play it again with patches, I never did that.

By far. The rest are unplayable mess.

The cops had a personal vendetta in this game. It's like we had some serious dirt on them or we smashed their wives because that's what it felt like

My 1st nfs game was nfs3 HP on ps1, I will say the physics if the game is what enabled me to drive then I became a truck driver. I wish they would make a remake of nfs3/HS I'd buy it!!
I would prefer a remake of the first four NFS games with the physics, cars and tracks unified. And plz make the physics actually consistent this time! No cars flying or bullshit AI.

Other than that i agree with most of the video. I still like more Hot Pursuit though, but both games are by far the peak of the franchise imo.
i started off with emulation and then playing the real thing turned out way better than i thought it would

@@The101Point1 I think they are way too heavy but also very inconsistent since they are also light asf when they crash.

For some reason, the PSX version has something going on about it, even if I like the PC more, for the same reasons you like it.
The car models in there better resembled the real things and the physics felt more "simcade". Specifically, you could oversteer the cars, understeer them, or feel the weight transfer. My theory is that that NFS 4 PSX was adapted into NFS Porsche because they feel quite similar in driving feel.
Probably no one knows this but the physics were in reality taken from PS1 Hot Pursuit simulation mode.
Unfortunately all of the realism that PS1 version was going for is held back by terrible framerate, almost unexistent car damage, inconsistent physics, lack of cockpit view, less real car info, no stat tuning (without counting upgrades) and police chases and track design made with an arcade perspective.

the most beautiful NFS ever (PS1 version)... engine sounds,car models,tracks,OST,ambiance,damage... beautiful
I love both the PlayStation and PC versions, however I feel that the PlayStation version had a lack of single player modes, because you can't do a custom race outside of career mode, where you could choose any vehicle freely and just race, but the gameplay is fantastic and the graphics are amazing.
I think more than a lack of single player modes i would say the main menu feels very disorganized, like it would be really benefit from something like Most Wanted that you can choose not only stock cars but also the career cars. Instead, for some reason they splitted the modes when they should have been unified; you can only choose by default stock cars in test drive mode and career cars in single player, and test drive mode doesnt even let you modify the track conditions, is just a quick lap that doesnt even saves the best lap time, so basically a waste of time and redundant game mode since is the same as a solo single race. One of the many reasons why i think this port was rushed.
@@sebastiankulche it feels rushed even with the career mode, and they forget to add in a custom race mode for those that want to enjoy the racing outside of career mode without interference from law enforcement. But there's already codes that modifies the races and cars you race against, so it's all good now.

Great game an i always thought that it's tracks should have been added to NFS Hot pursuit 2 ps 2 version an then the entir thing ported up to ps4 or 5 graphics. High stakes an hot pursuit tracks have roughly the same look an feel.

You played on pc but in 2022.. That means you didn't get the 3dfx glide experience. Thats why you prefer console version.
PC version was all about 3dfx glide!

Even without 3dfx or dgvoodoo or whatever the best driver is, i still prefer the PC version due to PS1 port is hardware limited and being rushed and this is actually confirmed.
i only prefer the console version because i like the physics better.
i played the game first on an playstation emulator and it wasnt very optimal, then i played the pc version and despite downloading the modern patch and setupmp i still liked the game less. then i played the game on an actual ps1 and it was so much better than experiencing playing it via emulation
@@XANAA Via emulation the game is way better imo due to having terrible framerate drops especially in pursuit mode.
I still prefer PC physics though regardless of modern patch being present (which i heard a rumour of something of the gameplay being changed or slighty tweaked but idk if thats true).
