I always liked the Aing-Ti priests from Legends, one of the few definitively good force using factions that had zero connection to the Jedi. Plus their force powers were pretty unique, somehow developing instantaneous teleporting powers (which they claimed is no more difficult than standard force telekinesis) and even incorporating their abilities into their technology.

I always had a fondness for the Zeison Sha. They developed their Force abilities (advanced telekinesis) as a tool for survival on the harsh conditions of their homeworld, and to protect their families and friends.
I wish Legends had done more with them.

Here's one you missed: The Eternal Empire (Zakuul). Living in Wild Space, the Knights of Zakuul's view of the Force was not based on light/dark, but that their power depended on their devotion to their emperor. It was part of the reason why neither the Jedi or Sith could hold back their invasion of the galaxy, as neither had understood the source of their connection to the Force. Only people like Valkorion and his children, Arcann and Vaylin tapped into the dark side to unlock their potential, given that Valkorion was hollowed out to be an incarnation of Vitiate, the Sith Emperor. Also, the Zakuulans had worshipped a pantheon of Gods who turned out to be machinations from Iokath.

I have a theory that basically goes that the force is at it's most powerful in the hands of someone who has no idea that they are using it. And it ties into a theory I have about the strengths and weaknesses of General Grievous. I believe that GG was *profoundly* disconnected from the force for some reason, even before becoming a machine, and that that meant that in fights with Jedi he was so deadly because he was relying purely on skill and physical superiority. When force users fought they were both relying heavily on their use of the force to guide their blade and predict their opponent, which because nobody has "their own force" lead to essentially a form of Futurama's "perfectly symmetrical violence". So when fighting Grievous, they lost a good part of that guidance and had to use pure dueling skill.
I think this ties into how Grievous was so effective with his own species, but was constantly frustrated with his droids. I think his style of leading his people through their passion and rage allowed them to unknowingly tap into a WH40k Ork-style usage of the force, which didn't work with droids. I think it was an especially powerful accidental use of the dark side because since they didn't know they were using it, they never reached the part that always destroys the Sith and the Jedi: The part when the use of it becomes a competition/battle to find out who is the most worthy of it's use.
It also ties into another factor, that the Force is powered by thoughtless emotion, and that Grievous, Anakin, and Sidious were using the force very effectively not because they were "skilled in the force" but because they were natural drama queens.

  • @domenicoazzia4153
    @domenicoazzia4153 2 ปีที่แล้ว +19

You could also include the zeffo people from the fallen order game, I find their approach very interesting.
As For the Chiss: I think their strange connection to the force is due to their mental structure rather than genetic makeup. We know that there are species that are resistant to mind tricks due to the complexity of their mental structure like the toydarians, we also know that the chiss also posses a peculiar (compartmentalized) mental structure as Anakin stated as he had trouble getting a read of Thrawn mind and later Vader stated the same of the chiss force-sensitive children.
While I don't know why only the females have the force I speculate that children can use it due to children's mind being naturally more open/simple than those of adults and thus more connected tho the subconscious/instinctual state that the force drive in. Later as the individual grow and her mind mature, becoming more compartmentalized and its thought process more rigid, is thus more difficult to access the force as it require use of the subconscious part of the mind.
This is my theory at least. Nice video btw.

    • @KahavaveCAPIPI

I disagree. From a watsonian perspective; the dark side is consistently shown to be inherently corruptive on a physical and mental level. From a doylist perspective; early documents by Lucas referred to the dark side as being a corruption of the force itself. Or, in other words, the light side is the force at a state of balance and the dark side is the force in a state of imbalance.

I have read all the canon Thrawn novels, the potential they have is incredible!

@@IcyBrickzStudiosSeeing as how it was Adm. Ar'Alani that had given Lt. Vanto the intel, I would assume that the reason isn't that Thrawn is curious. Far more likely is that the Skywalker Corps is stretched incredibly thin and they need more recruits. However, this data might be useful for cloning. I find Cdre. Faro's future of interest. What does she do post-Endor? What are her ideals and how do they impact her loyalties? I feel that she is *most* like Sloane, but with notable differences.

If this has been covered before, sorry for my ignorance of the subject, but I often wondered if the Force could be used for other purposes that space karate. I heard once that the "knight" rank of the Jedi was a small portion of the whole organization. What if someone is very force sensitive but sucks at fighting? For instance, was Jocasta Nu (the librarian from Episode II) ability not fighting but organization? Did she use the Force to put things in the best order, or somehow know that certain information was important and needed to be preserved? Would this same thing apply to doctors, mechanics, artists, or anyone that has a predilection towards a certain field. That would be an interesting thing to explore.

I see it this way. we're all creatures of the dark side at our core; our love, our hate, our fear... everything. I view both sides of the force as fire and ice. ''Peace is a lie, there is only passion. Through passion, I gain strength. Through strength, I gain power. Through power, I gain victory. Through Victory my chains are Broken.
The Force shall free me '' that's the fire. but an out of control fires will consume everything. ''There is no emotion, there is peace.
There is no ignorance, there is knowledge.
There is no passion, there is serenity.
There is no chaos, there is harmony.
There is no death, there is the Force.'' that is the cooling ice that tempers the flame. the dark side bolsters your physical strength and power. the light side bolsters your mental powers.

Meet the sload. They’re a slug like species from the planet thraas in the unknown reasons. They’re fans of necromancy and use the force to create plagues for their own enjoyment. They created the thraasian plague to and infected a neighbouring planet that ended up wiping out half the population of the world, for no other purpose that to have a laugh. Only juveniles are fertile and one they reach maturity they become sterile and interested only in their own experiments.
