- After the disqualification of Joost Klein, the Dutch broadcoasting organisation Avrotros together with Nikkie de Jager decided to not hand out points during the final show of Eurovision 2024, so the EBU had to do it by themselves and they did a wonderful job1!11!11111111
If only they announced the points for every country so fast
I've a feeling that they do it slow in order to build up suspense.

LOVE how quickly the crowd switched from supportively cheering to booing. Majority of ESC fans stand with the Netherlands on this, fuck the EBU.
It was their "anti booing technology" that replaces booing with cheering, you could tell how much it was being used last night during certain countries entries, but it sort of gave up halfway through and I'm here for it.

As a dutch person, we're glad too. Our (original) spokesperson was gonna be Nikki de Jager (who also hosted our eurovision last time (if I remember correctly) after Duncan Lawrence won), but decided against it because it was "disproportionate"; I quote: "Giving points for the Netherlands would be a dream come true. But that moment should not stand in the way of the dream itself. Whatever I do tonight, be there or not be there, I cannot do it well. That is why I decided not to award any points tonight" (but yaknow her actual announcement was in dutch)
I'd say this was one of the most awkward moments in the television history 🧐

I am dutch and Nikkie together with our broadcaster decided that Martin better could solve this problem by himself 😂Great decision in my opinion.

You can just tell how much the disqualification of the Netherlands hurt everyone, including all the contestants (with one major outlier), just look at how disappointed Nemo looked.

Didn't help that it was an *israeli* reporter (Cuz they've been "great" to people behind the scenes).

Why was he not happy
Because they disqualified Joost Klein from thr Netherlands due to a hand jesture he made to a camerawoman after not leaving hin alone. It's clear that the EBU wanted Joost not to participate as this small situation could be handled way better. Due to this, the Netherlands didn't want to anounce their 12 points, so the EBU had to do it thenselves. Most artists, I believe also Nemo, obviously don't support this.
Nikkie tutorials had done it but she refused to do it The same woman who then helped present Eurovision in the Netherlands 2021

Each time he received 12 points, he showed enthusiasm and said thank you except for when the Netherlands awarded him… or is it because he couldn’t hear through the boos? You know, first I was sad for BL. But then I realized, that the Swiss jury gave 8 points to Croatia, the Swiss public gave 10 points to Croatia. The Croatian jury gave 0 points to Switzerland and the public 1.
So maybe, after the shitshow this year with Joost and everything, it's maybe better a country will host the ESC where people are less nationalistic and less aggressive and somehow boring and correct.
