    If you brew gluten reduced or gluten free I want to hear from you! Let me know your tips.

    My wife is highly reactive to gluten. Not celiac, but a different type of allergy to it. We found that she did not react to a few commercial gluten reduced beers, and when I found from a lot of research that they were using a commercial version of Clarity Ferm, I decided to get back into home brewing, so my wife would not be limited to a single, or very limited selection, of beer. That was about 5 years ago, and she has not had a reaction to a single beer that I have brewed using Clarity Ferm!

    Good on you for highlighting the difference between gluten free and gluten reduced. I have a few friends with celiac, and gluten reduced isn't always safe for them to consume, depending on the severity of their disease. Can't wait to see a gluten-free beer from you!

      Thanks! It’s a completely new thing to try and brew gluten free but always wanted to for some family that have sensitivities!

    What would you recommend for making low carb beer? I’m not concerned if it’s gluten free/reduced or not just looking for low carb. Something for diabetics or keto diet people.. keep up the great work by the way. Love your videos!!

    I would like to try brewing a gluten free beer sometime, but I think the ingredients are a bit hard to come by up here. Great info and looking forward to your gluten free bru day! Cheers!

      Yeah it is certainly a challenge for me too. Luckily there’s a few online shops that sell goods. But I think I’ll keep it simple for my first one

    How timely! I’ve been suspecting a gluten intolerance and just received my first vial of Clarity Ferm last week. Hopefully I notice a difference with my next batch.

    I use the gluten-free extract from VIK BEER to brew beer for a friend. Just gluten reduction would not be suitable for them. I got separate fermenters to ferment that. Maybe someday I will find a suitable gluten-free enzyme to make all-grain rice/millet/buckwheat beer. I will probably have to malt it on my own. As I can not find a source of malt willing to ship to me.

      Yeah finding the GF ingredients has been tougher than expected. And malting sounds like a lot of work but it can be done. Wish there was more stuff out there for people to buy

    I've seen articles where where chestnuts are used to make gluten free beers. The bad news is that they are very hard to source as breweries buy them up.

      I’ve heard that too and thinking about experimenting.. if I can find some

    It's incorrect that the enzymatic processes reduce gluten. The enzymes break up gluten into smaller fragments and as a result there's no way to use standard tests. The 20ppm test is meaningless at that point, it's just a roll of the dice as to whether someone will be sensitive or not.

      Hm interesting, I know a few people that have extreme sensitivities to gluten and while in most cases it’s not life of death it certainly is uncomfortable to consume gluten. So I’m just trying to help other people with similar issues but want to enjoy beer

      Actually the gluten protein is toxic to most people. However most people's systems can tolerate it without noticeable effects. But it doesn't mean its not a problem.

    • @TheAlchemistsBrewery
      @TheAlchemistsBrewery ปีที่แล้ว

      @@andywillcya gluten is NOT toxic. Even the people who publishwd that scientific article refuted it, published another article and apologized. Know your facts!
