I have gone through some departments' sites and it was stated that there's no need to contact professors before applying.
To be sure, I sent some emails to the departments'graduate center and got same response.
Should I still go ahead and contact the professors so that I can include their names in my SOP?
Hi! It is okay not to contact them in this case. Still, ensure you mention the research of 2 or 3 professors in the department and note that your overall research interests align with these areas. So that if one Prof isn't interested, another Prof might be.

Dear Dr Ojo thanks for the video once again .. wanted to ask if it’s appropriate to conclude your SOP with statement like “” I hope you find me deserving of the ( bla bla bla ..,,.) and consider me of full funding or any assistantship ? , or never mention any thing as regarding assistantship or funding in the sop ?

I have one question. Since the conclusion has in-text citations of the professor with whom I want to work with, should I include full information citation/ reference/ bibliography just like reaserch article at the end of the SOP?
Probably not. I don't think it would matter either way. If there is enough context around the in-text citation they would likely know which papers you are talking about from their colleagues' group. Still, it wouldn't hurt if you include the full citation at the end of the document if you have enough space.

Better to cite than be accused of plagiarism. But it shouldn't be too many references (not more than 2 in my opinion)

I have been diligently following your lessons for a while and I eventually sent out about 20 emails three days ago. I’m quite worried that I’ve just received two responses ( 1 from automatic response and another from the actual professor himself; he encouraged me to apply but didn’t ask for an interview).
Am I supposed to start thinking about follow-up mails for the remaining 18 professors??
Hi George. I'd typically follow-up such email after 5-7 days, just to give the Profs about a week. You shouldn't be worried at all, your results are typical for most trainees sending such emails. Follow-up and keep finding new leads.

I had a low CGPA and I sent a cold email to a professor and she accepted to work with me. Do I have to state in my SOP I had a low CGPA?

Pls the question is outside what the video is all about. But is it possible for one to use account statement from microfinance bank for upland on the university admission portal? Am asking this because that is where my sponsor has huge amount of money.

Please can you clarify the difference between SoP and LOM
In most cases, each of these can serve as a substitute for one another if there are no specific instructions. Your SoP should extensively explain your motivations for graduate school.
Please Dr, can someone use his undergraduate project work as a research experience if actually he did his field experiment ,data collection and analysis himself

do I need to write the title for a PS or SOP as it will add to my word count
Hi. Most people just include their Full name and document title (Statement of Purpose). If you have a word limit, I'd count this title as part of the limit, except the instruction states otherwise.
