Such a awesome enclosure for such beautiful spiders. Love seeing Miss Brazilian White Knee hanging out in her enclosure, having the best seat in the house to watch the rehousing. 🕷 ❤️

I remember separating my balfouri from the mom. They were all over 1-1.5 inches (3-4cm). I kept them with the mom for 4 months. They were all very territorial of each other. I remember trying to take one, and another would run up on top of it threat posing me. Like "hey man, that's my sibling you're touching, back off". I absolutely loved the experience, even though it took a very long time.

Morning Dave. I found finger caps you can put on, to prevent the hot glue burning your fingers, very handy things. Seems to have been a fair loss of Balfouri's in the communal, but like you said, lesson learned. They are very impressive as far as I can see. Love how you set up the enclosure, so they will have that webbed up in no time. Awesome video Dave.

Amazing video as always! Great footage Camera Lady 💜 7 babies are better than none I suppose however, it is a shame that many were most likely eaten 😔 who knows, maybe you'll find some spare ones roaming around the beastie room over the next few months 😅
The M. balfouri is definitely in my top 5 T species in terms of beauty. The first time I ever seen one in someone's video is when I knew I wanted to get into the hobby (still haven't made the jump, waiting until I move out of my current place). I don't think I'd ever want to keep a communal (maybe one day but, seems a bit chaotic for several reasons, as beautiful as their web castles can be). There's definitely a few species I know I want to eventually keep, just so happens most of them happen to be old worlds 😆 In the meantime, I'll live vicariously through you & the other excellent channels. Keep up the great work, we all appreciate you two so much 👍🏻

Socotra Island itself is a fairly dry hot place. Scrubland odd plants, odd trees and lot of rocks. And in a lot of the rocks there's wet substrate for them to hide in but they don't really dig because they tend to use the rocks and scrub bushes to hide under.

I like the fact that you acknowledge their capability to learn, most tarantula youtubers are completely unaware of that. But I would go two steps further: They web the door or lid up for a reason, and they remember exactly where the door or lid was when you leave it away without them realizing it. In this case, I often catch them trying to anchor their web in the middle of the air. :D
That's one of the reasons I call them my "dried octopuses".

    @rebel4466 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

They will be really happy inside that tank! looking awesome.
Also happy that you can handle a Balfouri better than a Tillandsia apparently lol
And don't worry, hot glue won't kill the plant, but might lead to it shrinking back and losing quite a bit of contact with the glue joint.
Pushing them in a tight little spot was the right way to put them in. As you're having a cork background, you might even use a bit of thicker wire, tie a loop around the plant and push the ends into the cork. of course the same works when drilling a small hole in wood etc. Done right, you won't be able to tell.
Next to the spider hobby, I'm also a little bit into succulents, cacti and all that stuff. At least some "bites" not to worry about lol

I'm cracking up over the plants vs glue! 😂😂😂 I've found that if you put a little super glue on each item you're trying to glue together it works better. (A dab on plant & a dab on stick.) The super glue will stick to itself. (Usually!) This REALLY made me laugh though! The enclosure looks amazing! 👍😊

And again a super Video 💪👍, thank you for everything 🙏‼️‼️‼️
We just rehoused our communal (8) 3days ago😁.
It went very relaxed and we didn't expected that and where a little afraid , because 8 in one enclosure .
I often saw biger ones so I thought it's getting a little tight in there, then while rehousing I recognized there are also some small balfs also.
Now I hope it's not to big for them , they mostly are 2cm in body length and now in a enclosure 30x30x30cm .
They already started webbing, bit I think I only see the one and same spider in there.
Hope you and your family are doing good‼️
